Morning. Welcome to our new thread.

We maybe have rain today. I really hope we do! I have no ides when we last had it.

I'm baking with the kids today plus potting some plants on. Exciting. No idea where they'll go, mind you!

Only 2 days left of furlough. Yaaay for the financial side and booooo otherwise! 😂

Haha Fluffy good point that I don't really tan. Weirdly my feet go brown though and the rest of me is milk bottle colour!!

I have ordered dinner from a local pub today as I am working. I am so looking forward to a roast I have not cooked.

I have put some washing out. I am trying to catch up with having not been at home much.

pussycatinboots · 31/05/2020 13:02

Crazy I'm a bit like you, just a lot older Grin also add in rather large norks that are not enjoying this hot weather.
I've watered the garden before DH some pots were like dust so have dunked them for half an hour in a bucket. I'll do tonight too while he's in the shower Wink
fluffy agree re slebs. It's not fair to normal women for slebs to chuck money at cosmetic surgery/personal trainers etc to look "perfect"
...when did a male "sleb" last have a "ball tuck" cos they were too dangly?? Grin

NerosFiddle · 31/05/2020 13:07

My stomach is just covered in stretch marks but I'm relatively slim otherwise. If i put on weight it seems to go to my thighs, which are also covered in stretch marks.

I've all our sheets out drying. My washing machine doesn't know what's hit it the last few weeks.

If I won the lotto I wouldn't be getting any cosmetic surgery. I'd build an extension onto the house. Somewhere just for me that no one else could disturb me in.

We were going to go up to see dmil grave today (it's her year anniversary tomorrow) but it's 2hours away normally and more now because there's so many diversions in place. Too long and hot in the car for the wee ones.

NoWordForFluffy · 31/05/2020 13:35

I'd only have surgery as the c-section scar for DS needs revision. I'd be way happier in myself with it done too, so it'd be worth it for that alone.

Boots, well done on preventing your DH from going outside. Though some plants sound like they need him to give them his full attention!

Our strawberry patch has started to fail a bit. Combination of old plants and poor soil. So I've ordered 36 bare root and I'll start the patch again with a load of manure dug into it first. Hopefully it'll sort out next year's crop.

I'll pot them up for now and put them in once this lot have either fruited or totally failed. They might just be dry, so I've been soaking them a bit.

puss the double standards between famous men and women make me😡. Women are expected to look in their 30s at most, no wrinkles, no grey hair, no fat and are considered too old to be leading ladies when they hit 40 while men are encouraged to go grey and show their wrinkles as it makes them appear charming and smart. Some fat just means they're relatable and a leading man can be 24 or 64.
And don't get me started on the amount of films which have a main man in his 40's / 50s while his love interest is 25 🙄😡

If I won the lottery I'd get a personal trainer and a nutritionist so organise me and get me into size 10/12 clothes. I've got 2 friends who have had weight loss surgery but that's too much for me.
Then I'd have my boobs done (a lift) and a tummy tuck.
I always said I'd have laser eye surgery too but now I'm not sure that I would.

My main expenses with a lottery win would be somewhere to live (a small holding) and holidays!

I am having a very peaceful day. I've changed my bedding, done 2 loads of washing (so bedding I stripped this morning is on the line now). Wash basket is empty. I've done yoga, had a shower and eaten a delicious ham and egg salad for lunch.
Going to search Rightmove for my dream home now...

NoWordForFluffy · 31/05/2020 14:33

I'm now in the garden after dragging two massive bags of shopping back from Aldi! I forgot cucumbers, but the lady on the till put through 3 for me and I got them on my way out!

It's nice when the wind blows but a bit oppressive when it's still. The kids are doing art (painting card!) under the parasol. It's very nice I may also have beer!.

Crazy I managed to get into 14 jeans after basically starving myself for 3 months my dad died. Happy at a 16/18...now 20 (ish with elastic waistbandShock)
I would really hate to be a size 8 and look at 🍕🍷🍻🌭🍟 but not touch, I like food and beer too much Grin
Kate Moss said "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" - that girl hasn't lived! Who needs drugs when you can have Lemon Chicken, Eggy rice and prawn crackers!
I have stretch marks from my teens, so bugger it! They're on my arms, legs, stomach, boobs...DH isn't put off Wink

pussycatinboots · 31/05/2020 14:58

Hmm that last post may have been a little more revealing than I meant it to be Blush

NoWordForFluffy · 31/05/2020 15:13

I have stretch marks from growing too fast as a child / teen! And a few from pregnancy where I got fat, fast, 'eating for 2', AKA, only carbs stop the puking but not as many as from growing.

I'm a 10-12, I think, depending on the clothing. If I didn't do a load of digging I'd be much bigger! 😂

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 31/05/2020 15:27

one of my legs might be a 10...no kids, but have def done the eating for two (or more)...

CrazyBaubles · 31/05/2020 15:34

Lol puss
I've been a size 22/24 at my biggest. Now an 18 ish but I think I'd be so much happier in a 12 although it feels like I'm never going to get there

I have stretch marks but DH doesn't seem to care and I don't generally notice them anymore. I'm more interested in looking nice in clothes tbh!

pussycatinboots · 31/05/2020 15:48

Crazy to drop that many sizes is a lot in one go - please don't do it.
3 sizes in 3 months nearly killed me (+ all the other stuff going on)
I've not been the same since - I was healthier and much fitter at a 20 before I dropped/regained (with reinforcements) It's not the losing weight, it's when it creeps back on while your back is turned and brings all of it's mates...

NerosFiddle · 31/05/2020 16:16

I've lost a lot of weight since I was sick at Christmas. I'm now a size 8 (and look very emaciated) but would like to get back up to at least a 10.

Crazy I've had laser eye done. It was life changing for me.

WreckTangled · 31/05/2020 16:48

I'm an 8-10 and weigh 8st6lb prefer to be a few pounds lighter though.

I've caught the sun we had my parents round (rule breakers as not allowed until tomorrow but i figured it's safer today than tomorrow as we haven't mixed with anyone for ten days and back to work/school tomorrow) we al sat in the garden and kept our distance.

Fluffy my bum and thighs are covered in stretch marks from when I was a teen even though I was always slim.

CrazyBaubles · 31/05/2020 16:58

puss it's taken me almost a year to get down to an 18(ish). I'm not worried about dropping weight all at once - between my hormone issues and lack of will power, it's a very slow process, and I'm trying to do more exercise alongside eating better in the hope it improves my fitness which is truly awful.
How did you lose so much so quickly?

Neros very interesting about the laser eye surgery. I'm quite badly shortsighted and worry that the pain / being uncomfortable wouldn't be worth it if my eyesight started going again.
When did you have it done? Has your eyesight deteriorated at all since?

Nice tan lines Wreck ☀️
I can't imagine being a size 8. I have quite large hips, shoulders and boobs and seem to remember skipping from children's clothes to a size 10 as a teen!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 31/05/2020 17:06

I am an odd one I think, I wear size 10-12 yet weight wise am teetering on entering the overweight category on BMI. My aim is to get back solidly into the middle of the healthy range :) People are always shocked when they learn what I weigh, they all think I am much lighter than I actually am.

NerosFiddle · 31/05/2020 17:31

Most, bmi's are not that accurate. Ok as a general guide but I wouldn't put too much stock on it.

Wreck great tan.

Crazy, I got it done 11 years ago and my eyes are still great. I was short sighted too and wore glasses from when I was 5. Dh got his done about 8 years ago and got a newer version than I did. So there's probably another better one now. I was able to pay up for it in instalments.

pussycatinboots · 31/05/2020 18:05

Crazy I couldn't eat a thing (literally a round of toast a day) while my late Dad was in hospital from mid dec to mid march. It was only when his consultant saw me walking down the hospital corridor towards him one morning, pointed out that I'd lost stones and said I'd make myself very ill if I lost any more weight that made me start to eat more.

WreckTangled · 31/05/2020 18:08

Puss poor you Thanks

I've always been petite. I'm quite short even when pregnant I didn't put on much weight. I know I'm lucky but I do also need to watch what I eat now I'm getting older. It's easier to put on weigh when you're diabetic too because of the insulin or something 🤷🏽‍♀️

Eugh. Dreading work tomorrow. I have had that horrible nervous feeling since Thursday.

pussycatinboots · 31/05/2020 18:19

Wreck
It's fine. It was years ago and I think I'm past that now - many more bridges and much water etc.
Tomorrow:
It's just work.
It puts a roof over your head and food in your belly.
Just stay professional and polite (not like me at all Wink)
You are so much better (and nicer) than them.

NoWordForFluffy · 31/05/2020 18:28

I didn't put much weight on with DS, but I wasn't as pukey! With DD I Was mainlining carbs as the nausea was absolutely horrendous for almost the entire pregnancy. Carbs reduced it to 'bearable' as opposed to 'camped in toilet'.

I lost about 40% of my body weight after DS losing their baby weight. Oops!

Are you a stress non-eater, Boots, or was it specific to your dad being ill? I'm glad you're well past it now.

Have we ever had 12 threads in a year? I was just looking that we're nearing 900 comments on this, the 5th thread and it's June tomorrow.

NoWordForFluffy · 31/05/2020 22:18
