Afternoon.

Here we go again! It feels slightly bonkers setting off again before today is over, but it's tradition, so who am I to argue?!

It sounds perfect to me mrs what does DD think?

Mrsmadevans · 22/01/2020 09:37

The house is no different to one we saw in Canton on the Lovell mill site. That was 220k , they have 800 houses there and 65% are for rental with the housing association/Cardiff council.
Cardiff Council are trying to help ppl to live in Cardiff tbf . However the website is very confusing, they have homes coming up in different places all over with different housing names . I questioned and questioned the Cardiff council housing officer and apparently there are 4 firms , Harmoni homes /United Welsh/ Bellway/Cardiff Living who are all working in conjunction with Cardiff council. 🙄
Thing is l am like a dog with a bone. I don't let it go until l understand everything. I rang and rang ppl to find out how to proceed. They really don't make it easy but l explained to everyone of them there that it was extremely confusing. I don't think ppl understand how to proceed with the purchase or even know how to register with the scheme 🙄🤪
However there is one house left out if the 8 and that is in the middle of a terrace of three . So we are extremely lucky and can't quite believe our luck 🤞🤔

Mrs - that house sounds fantastic. In my mind a no brainer. I love Pontprannau. My friend was at uni in Cardiff and we went there one of the times I visited her.

mrs if she loves it then I think she should go for it!. It looks delightful.

Mrsmadevans · 22/01/2020 10:29

Aw bless you all thank you ❤️
It's just a huge step it seems it's a bigger step for her than it was for DH and I when we bought when l was 20 and he was 25 🤗 l suppose it's because she's our baby and she's on her own 🤗♥️

WreckTangled · 22/01/2020 10:44

Mrs that sounds fantastic!

Mrsmadevans · 22/01/2020 11:02

Aw thank you Wreck 😍

BiddyPop · 22/01/2020 11:33

Mrs, sounds like your hard work looking at all the details and options has paid off for DD!! Fingers crossed it all keeps going right for her!

I need to go back and catch up on everyone's news, making progress on lots here, both work and home and clubs stuff. DD got a call up for provincial trials in hockey, so that's more running around for DH and I, but great for her! PT meetings earlier this week also - mostly what we were expecting or better, some little niggles, but also great reports about her attitude in general. (Except when she gets frustrated - but they can all see she's putting in the effort and make allowances).

I'm taking some time out for me tomorrow - facial booked at lunchtime (there was an offer before Christmas of a half price one in January if booked/paid on the day, so I don't even have to spend any money!!). Nicely timed, if we DO get to the Engineers Ball on Friday (depends on which initial trial session DD has to go to - this or next Friday). And DH is booking us all back into the gym in the local hotel - so I will get back swimming again. I think I need something ...

NoWordForFluffy · 22/01/2020 13:37

Mrs, great house! Well done with the research!

Biddy, busy as ever! Well done to your DD.

The car is on the ramp as we speak, so shouldn't take long.

Mumbassa · 22/01/2020 13:57

mrs Mine are only 5,4 and 18 months, but I’m already dreading the day they move out. I’d be happy to have them with me for the rest of my life if I could.

Well done to your DD, biddy, I hope you enjoy your me time tomorrow. It sounds like you deserve it with being run ragged.

Will the car be sorted today, fluffy?

I’ve got DS1’s school shoes on the way back from picking him up. I’ve got to pop out again now as MIL has just called and asked if her and FIL can come over for tea, so I have to get some extra things for tea. I’m not very happy, she has habit for calling up on the day, rather than planning and it really grinds my gears.

TheWoollybacksWife · 22/01/2020 14:20

Lovely house MrsMad. DD1 has said that she plans to look for somewhere to live this year. One of her school friends is selling her house and it is definitely in her price range but buying a house would tie her to this area for at least a couple of years. She has expressed an interest in working abroad and she really needs to do that before she's dealing with mortgages and bills.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/01/2020 17:28

No word on the car. Odd. Hopefully DH will get it in the morning.

Sounds like your DD1 has a bit of weighing things up to do, Woolly. I'd definitely work abroad if I were her. No hurry to tie herself down really!

Mumbassa · 22/01/2020 18:03

I agree with fluffly, wooly, she should go and experience the world before she gets a house.

I hope the cars ready for the morning fluffy

Mrsmadevans · 22/01/2020 20:56

Woolly your DD has all the time in the world . She doesn't need to be tied down to a mortgage & a house It is daft imho, they need to spread their wings and live a bit. I don't want my DD2 to go down this path but my DD2 is so in love with her job & so determined to live in Cardiff l hate it there . l swear she would move in the Principality Stadium if she could Hmm. I have to support her in what she wants to do and l will do everything to help her, just like we will all do l know Smile
I am happier with this house because it isn't in the heart of Cardiff and it is in a nice area. It's a new build so we don't have to worry about things needing doing and it is within 20 mins of the centre so it will be less work. We will miss her so much but she wants to go so we just have to get on with it Sad.

WreckTangled · 22/01/2020 20:59

Mrs when she moves in you can make her a parcel of all the boring things she will need. My Nan did it for me and it had bathroom cleaner, sponges, washing up liquid etc etc it was so lovely of her I still remember it now.

I got my delivery today! So pleased with it. I'm aware the Fitbit is gigantic on my wrists Grin

Mrsmadevans · 22/01/2020 21:06

Ahh your Nan sounds a darling Wreck . Your BS is amazing 5.9 🤗👏👍💐
That's pure determined effort and l applaud you for your dedication and hard work well done m'dear 😊

WreckTangled · 22/01/2020 21:09

Oh goodness mrs those aero ones look pretty good too! I see choc orange ones are all sold out where you are too Grin

DH has said he will take a Friday off somewhen next month so we can have lunch together (we got a bills gift card for Christmas). He never takes time off work so that will be good.

On another note I saw a meme on Facebook saying that only people in the county I live in say the work 'anywwhen' and loads of people were says it's not even a word ShockConfused it definitely is a word! Wondering what everyone else thinks?!

NoWordForFluffy · 22/01/2020 21:19

It's not a word! Grin

WreckTangled · 22/01/2020 21:22

Obviously meant to be anywhen (just the one w!). Used like this:
'What time shall I come over?'
'Oh, anywhen after 10'
Grin
Are you sure fluffy? Hmm

NoWordForFluffy · 22/01/2020 21:23

Southwest England dialect, apparently.

WreckTangled · 22/01/2020 21:27

Hmm I don't live in the south west. It just makes sense like anywhen, anywhere, somewhen, somewhere etc
