Afternoon.

Here we go again! It feels slightly bonkers setting off again before today is over, but it's tradition, so who am I to argue?!

We are all enjoying playing with DS' games. It's the first year he has actually been given games and I am loving it.

JoGose · 25/12/2019 14:55

Kids have fell asleep after dinner. I’m about to start the washing up and I have TOTP on it the background. When they wake up we will play some games.

I'm about 10 mins from falling asleep, I think I need a nap. We're absolutely stuffed after going out for lunch (which was lovely). I've also had Buck's Fizz and rum.

Had a bit of drama at lunch - A very miserable old woman told another woman to take her "horrible loud children outside" because they were ruining her Christmas meal 😱
She was so mean, rude to the waitress as well so I made a point of talking to the children and asking about their day before telling the parents the children were fine. They weren't overly loud at all, just normal excited children (at a guess I'd say 3 and 6 years old). The whole restaurant seemed to be listening so I hope I helped because the mother looked so upset.

Thank you for the new thread Fluffy - I hope your Lego building is going well!

Also, 🏅 for my lovely DH who bought me Cursed Child tickets for Christmas. Was a complete surprise, I didn't know he even knew there was a Harry Potter play never mind being organised enough to book tickets!!

CrazyBaubles · 25/12/2019 15:19

Just read that back and it's a bit garbled sorry!

sideorderofchips · 25/12/2019 15:33

Is it bad I've already started to buy for Christmas 2020

YuletideFairy · 25/12/2019 15:39

Is it bad I've already started to buy for Christmas 2020

Nope, I ordered a few bits from Boots and Superdrug sales this morning as I couldn’t sleep.

sideorderofchips · 25/12/2019 15:44

New Year's resolution.

During the year, whenever I remember, I'll get the odd £50 note out of the Nationwide and not leave it til the last minute when all the £50s have run out.

Merry Christmas everyone! I didn't go mad for DS, and my house is still like a toy shop!! There are actual piles!!

We agreed not to get the Lego out today, as 2yo DN has been round and we didn't want anything to get lost. Thanks to the bargain thread, I got DS the <a class="break-all" href="https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Little-Live-Pets-Ladybug-Special-Set-Move-Play-And-Are-So-Beautiful-Toy-Kids/223554405457?ul_ref=rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=2&pub=5575376664&toolid=10001&campid=5338268676&customid=Cj0KCQiArozwBRDOARIsAHo2s7uEK7NWgRo52EyOKn714CqQ4tilZZQJSUKhA1ITS-ai1Q_XTFXb_xsaApyYEALw_wcB&lgeo=1&item=223554405457&srcrot=710-53481-19255-0&rvr_id=2234278103516&rvr_ts=3e66031816f0aa64ae62adadfffce3e1&_mwBanner=1&_rdt=1&ul_noapp=true&pageci=b9538aca-fcf4-4e69-9571-2f199a33abd5&epid=6031290219" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Little Live Ladybirds and Playmobil jail. He decided the ladybirds were bandits, they kept stealing the money from the Playmobil bank 😂

We need to put the furniture back (we moved it to fit the extra table in), and finish clearing the table now the dishwasher has finished, but I'm having a rest with a glass of fizz and DS is eating a cheese sandwich and watching The Snail And The Whale while DH takes DMIL and DSIL home. Bliss. Then, I have leftover cauliflower cheese and parsnips for supper - yummy!

Hope your DD is feeling better, MrsM. Nothing worse than feeling rubbish on Christmas Day!

Emrys we have this greenhouse (paid about half that price for it, though). It was really good, but you need to secure the staging separately, otherwise when it's windy it shakes everything off the staging. DS got Jitterbug - he won't play the proper game, but loves his 'tickling spider'

Jealous of your Christmas present, Crazy. DH was supposed to be booking for us to go see it, but hasn't got his act together yet!

EmrysAtticus · 25/12/2019 19:23

Thanks flouncy and Firefly will check out B&M and Wilkos :) I think the whole garden is going to be taken over with growing veg!

Just putting DS to bed and then will watch Gavin and Stacey! Can't wait. Looking at the toy shelves and wondering what I can full to make way for the Christmas stuff. It's his birthday in 6 weeks too Shock

Merry Christmas everyone!

I hope it's ok for me to join - I lurked on the threads this year and then joined in for the bargains thread (a huge thanks to Reastie for those as they have been an amazing help this year when I've been stuck!).

I've just bought a fabric advent calendar for DS for next year, and I'm looking for toiletry-type gifts for DNephews who will be mid-teens next Christmas! I think I must be too late for the Boots sale though as lots seems to have sold out which is a shame.

JoGose · 25/12/2019 19:53

The kids are in bed now. Can’t believe it’s all over!. I’m watching call the midwife and then Gavin and Stacey. I’ve had a super day, got some nice smellies and my mums booked a holiday to haven for me, her, DGM and the kids next year. Which is a lovely surprise.

EmrysAtticus · 25/12/2019 21:34

What an ending on Gavin and Stacey!

JoGose · 25/12/2019 21:41

I can’t believe they left it at that!

NerosFiddle · 25/12/2019 21:46

I don't know how I feel about the ending.

Thanks for the new thread fluffy.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 25/12/2019 21:48

We don't watch G&S! 😱😱
