Afternoon.

Here we go again! It feels slightly bonkers setting off again before today is over, but it's tradition, so who am I to argue?!

Fluffy l know! It seems the days just roll into one Smile
DD2 has taken some Sudafed and feels so much better now , she's had Norovirus over Christmas and now a stinking cold/sinusitis Hmm
Just watched one of my fave films ever Willy Wonka with Gene Wilder, l really liked Gene Wilder and the little actor who played Charlie was a little darling. I always cry at the end when Willy/Gene puts his hand on the everlasting gobstopper Smile
Wreck l can't wait to hear your news l really hope you all enjoyed it , time for you to chill a little now Smile

Mrsmadevans · 27/12/2019 18:23

WreckTangled · 27/12/2019 19:10

Got it all done in two fluffy! Well, the second load is just in the machine.

So....it was very loud! Two families with d&v at varying times (luckily not us touch wood!) we are the only family who haven't had it. We didn't over estimate food too badly. The hot tub was awesome. Our dc were pretty well behaved although ds had his moments they're not as bad as some of the others....but overall they all got on really well.

DH noticed one of our tyres was worn on one side so this morning I had to phone ATS first thing and take the car to get it sorted. When we went to leave the car wouldn't start, luckily someone had some jump leads and jumped us but there's obviously something wrong because the car is only two years old so I've booked it in for a service next week. Whilst the tyres were being done we went and got ds some new trainers after his broke on the first day (I'm not impressed as they were sketchers which aren't cheap). And then it took us five hours to get home including a stop at the services with ds being a pita most of the way. But I can't wait to get into my bed tonight!

I have to go food shopping first thing then we have another day of Christmas with my mum, aunt, grandparents and sister!

Oh also we played werewolves which me and another person won and I smashed it at Pictionary Xmas Grin phew!

BiddyPop · 27/12/2019 19:15

Evening all, just checking in to,the new thread.

We've had a busy few days, relaxing and enjoying family time. Visiting extended family, going for walks (and DD doing her swim on 24th), enjoying some good food and a little wine, that sort of thing.

The only shop we've been to was for beer yesterday (we were entertaining and I forgot it) and a passion fruit today (DD wanted to make a smoothie). No sales yet.

Tonight, I am sitting with my feet up and a glass of bubbles enjoying d
Some Christmas tv after driving 2.5 hours to DSIL for lunch and back again after. Will raid leftovers later for snacks dinner...

sideorderofchips · 27/12/2019 19:34

Evening all

We have the dreaded lurgy here so all tired and ill

ridiculousridiculousness · 27/12/2019 20:18

I stumbled across the gap website earlier and found they have a sale on all items as well as an extra 20% off and 5% off when you download the app.

I saved just under £90 on ten different items for my son's summer wardrobe. Well worth a visit if you shop at gap.

CishAndFips · 27/12/2019 20:23

Can I pop back on here? I fell off mid year when life got a bit hectic.

JoGose · 28/12/2019 00:22

Welcome kissmyaxe I’m hoping my DD still believes at 9, she’s 7 now but only in year 2 so I’m hoping she will.

Sorry I haven’t been on today, I was up A&E with DS1 as he cut his head open at the park. He’s glued back together now bless him but it was awful. He’s in bed with me and is loving the special treatment he’s getting.

EmrysAtticus · 28/12/2019 05:59

Oh no poor DS Jo :(

Fluffy the council have just said there may be an allotment available just round the corner from me! They will get back to me on the 2nd Jan :)

WreckTangled · 28/12/2019 07:13

Eugh. I'm up even though everyone is still asleep. I set my alarm for 7 and have just chucked my clothes on so I can get to Aldi for when it opens at 7. Having a quick coffee then I'll go. (It's forty minutes away). Hopefully I won't see anyone I know Xmas Grin will have a shower when I get home.

Mrsmadevans · 28/12/2019 07:30

Morning everyone 😀
Not going to Mum's today Dd1 going to see to Mum for me 🤗
My NDN really isn't well at all, he is so sad 😩will pop in to see him again today .
Hope everyone is feeling better this morning, as Chips said, her family have all had the dreaded lurgy and that seems to be an apt description of it!! Hope all the DC are better as well , mine were always getting into scrapes and bumps it's part of growing up ,a rite of passage l suppose. 🤗
Wreck you are lucky our Aldi opens at 8 here . It's a blooming nuisance 🙄
Em that's marvelous you might get an allotment...YAY! 😄
We are off to Cwmbran this morning. I don't really want to go anywhere l am plum tuckered lol 😁
Have a great day everyone 😀

Mrsmadevans · 28/12/2019 07:37

363 Fluffy 😊 it's a leap year 2020. l asked my mum's Dot and she told me 🤪👏😋😂😂😂 , so l suppose we can ask her intermittently how many sleeps to Christmas. l don't know if l trust her 😂😂

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 28/12/2019 07:47

Wow, Em, great news! I hope you get it. That'll make 3 of us on here with a plot. 😁

Mrs, yes. My kids are obsessed with dates and times, so I've had the leap year conversation many many, many, many times! Xmas Grin My gran died on Feb 29, so we actually get the proper anniversary this year too.

Wreck, I did that on Tuesday, up and out, shower later! At least your Aldi opens early; ours is at 8.

Chips, cold lurgy or sickness lurgy? My cold won't piss off. I took cold tablets like Woolly recommended though (Home Bargains, not Tesco, but I bet they're the same ones!) and my nose isn't running as much, thankfully. Still feel shit though.

Woolly, sorry about your ankle, I hope it heals quickly.

Wreck, sounds like an eventful trip for you! Would you do it again?

Hi Cish! How are you doing?

We've got a friend coming over today. I'm going to do another buffet as we still have loads of stuff in the house!

I feel like I want to join! Christmas Day number 4 today and will be the final one this year (yay for families that live far away)
I can relax finally tomorrow, then start upon getting reduced items on Monday. Got to find me some deals.
I'm also trying to decide how much to start saving each week ready for next Christmas. Not only for our family etc, but to also help buy presents for other children at a school in our area that is so deprived it's sickening. I want to ideally be able to drop off at least 50 presents for them.

I'm also going to have to start thinking of stocking ideas for DS as he'll be 3 next Christmas and hopefully will be in his own "grown up" bed so will be able to occupy himself so I can get more sleep...

WreckTangled · 28/12/2019 07:59

Oops I meant it opens at 8! Just sitting in my car now waiting.

Fluffy I probably wouldn't. Well I would with some 😬 I think it's different parenting styles.... but I'm glad we did it and did enjoy it.

Not only does it open at 8, flouncy, it's a 5 minute walk from our house and was built earlier this year. It's really nice. The original one near to us is horrible, cave-like, and has the crap fruit / veg problem that many do.

Raising half a patio is a great idea. What's putting your DH off? The effort?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 28/12/2019 09:00

Flouncy it's a lease car so I don't pay anything. I had the tracking done not long ago (well, this year Grin) which is why the original wear started. It was still legal when they did it but obviously was already more worn than the rest of the tyre and I do a lot of miles. Right Aldi and Sainsbury's done. Just fuel and I'm home!

Mrsmadevans · 28/12/2019 10:09

I think it very odd that we have been inundated by new posters all of a sudden. Just saying. 🙄

Mrsmadevans · 28/12/2019 10:10

AGAIN!

Mrsmadevans · 28/12/2019 10:14

Thank you Fanny l am on my way!
Wreck it's times like this the damn expensive lease car comes into its own 😄
Fluffy enjoy your day with your family and friend 🤗
Better shift we are arrived 😄

WreckTangled · 28/12/2019 10:20

It is wreck. The tyres etc would have been over £200 easily.

Ds is being so badly behaved at the moment I really don't know what to do. Just being rude, shouting, tantrums and bed refusing. Although he went to bed well last night. I hope he settles down soon.
