Mrs them outfits are gorgeous. We don’t know what we’re having so we’re trying to get everything neutral and they look quite neutral.

Fluffy I burnt myself the other day and now my scalp is coming off in big flakes. It’s disgusting.

We decided on a baby name for If we have a girl today

NoWordForFluffy · 03/07/2019 21:25

Babies can wear vests / sleepsuits almost exclusively for at least 3 months!

What's your feeling about the sex, Lone? I was wrong about DD, but got DS right. 😁

They're cute outfits, Mrs.

Sports day was great. If a bit long-winded at times! They were so tired afterwards.

thelonearranger · 03/07/2019 21:34

Fluffy we mostly just bought vests/sleepsuits and then one or two outfits.

I think we’re having a girl. Everyone else is leaning towards boy though.

NoNameIdeas · 03/07/2019 21:38

Hi,
Please can I join you all in Christmas heaven?! Thank you!

CishAndFips · 03/07/2019 21:57

I have a dilemma. I would really really love a marino wool chunky knit bed runner but they cost around £70. DH has put his foot down and said absolutely no way. My auntie has been asking what we would like for christmas would it be really wrong to ask for one of those rather than one of the more practical things we need for the house ( like nice cups plates etc etc) that DH would like and appreciate. I know IABU but i would so love one Sad

CishAndFips · 03/07/2019 21:57

Hi noname welcome and jump right in.

millespadpuddy · 03/07/2019 22:49

Just bought my first Christmas present today.Feel slightly smug but too embarrassed to tell anyone....

FilthyforFirth · 03/07/2019 23:10

I got my first present last week, don't feel embarressed here puddy!

Hi all, I haven't been on this thread for a while, been on the bargain one, bit streadily thinking more and more about Christmas!

Not hosting this year which I am half happy half sad about! It is DS 2nd birthday at the weekend so be good to see how he goes with presents. Hoping he is a bit more excited this year!

Am spending my evenings watching Hallmark style films on netflix...

Morning!

So many of us now! You can tell it's heating up a touch. 😁

Have you changed name, Filthy?

Cish, I'd be more worried about the cost than the type of item. If your auntie usually spends that much on you, it's fine. Something lovely is ideal as a present!

Mrsmadevans · 04/07/2019 08:04

Am sorry for not remembering you if you have been here as Filthy but l am totally drugged up from my pain meds and in Fluffys defense she spent the last year on them too 😁 . You can tell l am a little off by this post l am sure 😂😂😂

BiddyPop · 04/07/2019 09:26

I am bringing my computer to the event we are going to this weekend, and nailing DH down to book the flights. (I would have done them myself but he wants to use airmiles towards them - and he does have a LOAD to use up!). I have not got anything crafty in the bag, as there is not a lot of spare space. I might just wander to a shop in the local city there and pick up something small tomorrow....maybe! (Anyone know good craft shops in Belfast?!)

I am currently acting as postman to a lot of the men in my life, as they order stuff on Amazon and send it to me (at work or at home) because "it's easier"! (as I typed that, a box was brought into my office! Xmas Grin). DH for DD, for a "well done on the great exam results and school report" reward, and overseas DB for other DB's DD. I have 1 I'm waiting on for myself (coloured plain paper bags, for the goodie bags for the team going to World Championships - hoodie, water bottle, and a mini speaker from the sponsor) - the excitement!

MrsMad, I hope the physio works her wonders on the legs, you sound just slightly more mad than usual (it must be the drugs! Grin)

Welcome back Filthy, am another who doesn't recognize that name but I've been MIA a lot this year.

All you crafty people are going great - I love the shawl Chips, lovely and bright and cheerful (I hope it means your life is brighter too, and settling into new routines - and that I've remembered the right person).

Ouch Fluffy, that looks "crispy" alright, was it a deliberate decision to attend sports day in work attire and not be able to run?! Wink

I'm sure I'm missing people, but there is a rather wobbly mountain of paper glaring at me here on the desk that I had better try to scale before I go. Especially as the newly established work choir has its inaugural performance at lunchtime, so I can't work through and I need to leave early to travel to this weekend's National Champs....but I have 3 days where I can't do work, or housework, and very little other paperwork, and once DD gets on the water every morning, I can unwind a little (might even get out on a rib one of the days!!). Hence why I want to get something crafty to keep me slightly busy and get started on the Christmas plans.

thelonearranger · 04/07/2019 10:33

Morning!

I didn’t have work until 11 today and I was looking forward to my lie in but my downstairs neighbours decided that 8 was a good time to play there music as loud as they could. I’m raging, even considering a home birth now and hoping baby comes early morning so I can be as loud as possible. See how they like it😂

Less of my rant...I did get that paddling pool yesterday and it worked a treat so I will be filling that up again this evening. I’ll meet up with my friends after work today to make up for yesterday.

thelonearranger · 04/07/2019 10:48

noname hi 👋🏻, welcome!

Cish ask your auntie for it. It’s your present.

Mrs I’m a sporner too. My DH hates it. He was the one who noticed my scalp, he thought I had something in my hair and tried to brush it off and then my head peeled. He was nearly sick.

thelonearranger · 04/07/2019 10:55

Filthy and Miles I’m almost done with many of my presents. I went on a crazy spree when I got pregnant to make sure I was prepared.

NerosFiddle · 04/07/2019 13:05

Biddy try CraftWorld on Queens Street if you're going to b3 in Belfast city centre. I haven't been since I was at uni, and thats 10 years ago. But I'm sure it's still good.

BiddyPop · 04/07/2019 15:38

Thanks Nero's, I'm going to try and get the train in from Cultra myself if I can't drag DH away from the sailing club either tomorrow or Saturday, as it only looks like a few stops and 20 minutes or so!

sideorderofchips · 04/07/2019 19:12

I’m knitting it on my very long circulars but it’s knitted flat

Morning! It's Friday. Wooooo!

It's the kids' birthday party on Sunday morning, so half my weekend is gone already. 😂

And it's allotment time tomorrow to weed the half I didn't get weeded last week.

Busy, busy!

Oh, and I've got to make the cake for the party tonight too. Then decorate it tomorrow.

Biddy, did you nail DH down yet? Enjoy your trip.

And I had to go to work after sports day, so I deliberately wore the dress as I had to! There was a good few of us on half days, looking at the outfits.

OP posts:
FilthyforFirth · 05/07/2019 06:43

Morning all, no I've always posted under this name. Just not very memorable it seems Grin.

How was sports day fluffy?

Amazing loneranger, well done! I dont normally start until October but I save all year round for it, so have the funds if I see anything! Hard to go too early with my DS as he is only 2 and what he likes will probably change by Christmas!

No presents for DH this year either as we have a mega expensive Disney holiday next March!

NoWordForFluffy · 05/07/2019 06:56

Ah, sorry Filthy. Xmas Blush

I think 5 and under is actually easier to buy ahead as they're very pliable at being steered towards what they 'want'! 😂 I'm holding off a bit this year though as DD is now 6 and definitely not pliable really.

Sports day was lovely, though I'm still crispy-shouldered!

I should probably clarify that I only wear dresses at work; I've no other workwear, hence wearing a dress and not running!

I've got quite a few presents now actually. Getting there steadily.

CrazyBaubles · 05/07/2019 09:33

Wow this thread is getting busy isn't it?
Biddy definitely nail down flights with you DH. We booked our flights (only Wales to Scotland) for Christmas in May - we checked again recently as my sister was considering joining us and the costs have doubled already!

Fluffy I always hated sports day so I would definitely wear a work dress as a tactic to stop me joining in 😂

Work again today, then out with DH, FIL, SMIL and some of DHs cousins tonight.
Plan for the weekend is to take my car to garage (brake pads & discs needed), get the house and meals organised for the next week, hopefully meet up with my friend who's having a hard time at the mo and somehow squeeze in a lunch and cinema date with DH as we want to see the new Spiderman film.

sideorderofchips · 05/07/2019 09:42

Morning all. Another hot day here today!

Fluffy I hate sports day as do my kids lol

thelonearranger · 05/07/2019 11:25

Morning!!

This thread is filling up (not that I’ve been here when it’s sparse but have been reading back). Does it usually get like this at this time of year? I’d have thought with it being so hot not many people would be feeling Christmassy.

Fluffy Do your DC share birthdays? Just because you said it was the kids’ party. You’re very talented with your cross stitching and cake making and all that crafty stuff.

Filthy I’m usually crap and don’t buy until the day before. I thought this year I’d get on top of it all, considering I’m going to be a mum and all.

Crazy that sounds like a busy weekend for you. I didn’t know there was a new Spider-Man film out. It only seems like the first one came out yesterdayBlush
