Thank you Fluffy l was a good girl ! Grin
Yes. Amazing wonderful work by the Emergency teams bless their tired aching limbs.

ChampagneBuffet · 06/08/2019 21:25

Mrs I haven’t been keeping up with the dam but I’m glad it’s fixed now. It must’ve been terrifying for those involved.

Dsis is back down the hospital with DH. Her leg is still sore today and her foot is freezing cold. I’m worried stiff.

Morning!

It's ☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️ here today! I'm drowned after my walk to the station. I might dry out by home time! 😂 Thank god I keep my shoes at work so will have dry feet if nothing else!

Champagne, I hope your sister is OK.

Definitely feels autumnal today. I need a Christmas hit big time! 🎅🏻 🎄🎅🏻 🎄

Morning

It’s dry here for the moment. Hoping it stays that way!

NerosFiddle · 07/08/2019 09:59

Morning all.

Does anyone do Christmas Eve boxes? I'm going to do a want, need, wear, read one. I've got hot chocolate (want), Christmas PJs (wear) and TNBC (read). I'm struggling with need though. It should just be something cheap. Any ideas?

NoWordForFluffy · 07/08/2019 10:10

I do:

Pyjamas
TNBC
Stockings
Sacks
Plate for Santa's drink / snack.

They don't drink hot drinks (DS actually will only drink water!).

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 07/08/2019 10:17

Tbh my 2 haven't drank hot chocolate either but they love chocolate and I thought it would be something a bit different for them.

I might just do the plate for Santa.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/08/2019 10:36

I got a lovely personalise one from eBay which they think is brilliant.

Hi can I join? I’m a Christmas hooliganGrin

BiddyPop · 07/08/2019 11:54

Hi Poetry, Christmas hooligans are always welcome here, they mix well with us Christmas Nuts!

I’ll catch up on everyone’s news soon, I have a few pages to read (yikes! I thought I was only missing about 2!).

Christmas plans changing here but getting reorganized in my head at least - staying here for the day, traveling to see family over the break but not going overseas. DH suggested a turducken, we’ll see - he has Pooh-poohed a goose. And I’ve made a head start into my Holiday Grand Plan as I have a couple of weeks off and the house was in CHAOS (can’t have anyone over syndrome!) - bathroom and hot press totoally deep cleaned, and a start made on 5 other rooms (I needed to work around the family), including 5 bags gone to charity shop yesterday. And the Hoover breathing a sigh of relief every time it’s put back to charge 🤣

DH birthday today, so I have to bake a cake and make a curry, I might make naan breads if I get time as it’s a long time since I have but he enjoys the hm versions.

EmrysAtticus · 07/08/2019 12:03

Gosh this thread is moving so fast! Finished one cross stitch. Glad I started in the summer as it's going to take me a while Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 07/08/2019 13:51

That's lovely, Emrys.

I really need to sort / clean, but there's almost no bloody point until the kids are back to school as it'll just get crazy again straight away. Hopefully I'll have every other Friday off by Oct. Or Monday (though I'd prefer Friday!). That will help things a bit!

I bet you feel better for getting sorted with so much, Biddy. Do you reckon the not booking flights was partly because you were both a bit reluctant, inwardly?!

OP posts:
ChristmasInJuly · 07/08/2019 15:56

Emrys that’s really pretty. I must start my cross stitch projects, I just know they’ll take about twice as long as I think they will!

Fluffy I really want to clean (not a sentence I thought I’d be saying!) but no point til DS starts preschool next month. I’ll do a deep clean then, and then another one at the end of November before the decorations go up.

One thing I will miss about the summer is being able to exercise outside once the kids are in bed. It’s the only chance I get as a SAHM as DH works long hours. I’ve been doing Couch to 5K and loving it, but the thought of running in the rain when it’s pitch black in the middle of October doesn’t really appeal..

IAintWroteNoPoetry · 07/08/2019 16:18

Emrys thank you for your welcome :-). Your Christmas plan sounds great, well done for being so organised. We’re hosting this year so I’m trying to start our plan. I definitely won’t be hosting again, it’s more stress than it’s worth.

Emrys that’s gorgeous, is it part of a bigger cross stitch?

Christmas I really enjoy running when it’s cold and wet, it cools me down.

Mrsmadevans · 07/08/2019 16:56

MRI tomorrow morning l actually can't wait to have it done.

NerosFiddle · 07/08/2019 17:31

Mrs the hot press is a storage cupboard. It usually has a hot water tank in it. I think it's a very Irish thing along with the immersion.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/08/2019 17:32

It's sunny here now. And windy; perfect drying weather!

I think a hot press is an airing cupboard and a press is a normal cupboard. The Scots use the same terms. 😁

I'm still very tired today. Think I need another early night!

Mrs, good luck tomorrow. 🤞

NoWordForFluffy · 07/08/2019 17:34

We have immersion heaters here too. If you have a standard - non-combi - boiler they're essential!

Mrsmadevans · 07/08/2019 18:40

Tank you Biddy Grin. I like the sound of it, very Pride & Prejudice Grin

NerosFiddle · 07/08/2019 21:30

Poetry welcome.

Mrs best of luck with your mri tomorrow.

I've just spent far too long reading the parking thread. I need a good calm Christmas thread now.

The poncing thread is great once it gets started. I wish I had the talent of some people.
