RowanMumsnet · 20/12/2012 20:13

Hello

Follow-on thread from this one.

To quote SecretSantaSandyMumsnet:

So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

Oh good! For a second there I was worried! I should've asked for a brain for Christmas Blush

SecretSantaMN202 · 27/12/2012 11:33

No, it's definitely me who should have asked for a brain Blush.

In my, quite dense, brain I was sure that it made sense for the Santas to have different numbers so the recipients could let them know that specific parcels had arrived.

WorraLorraTurkey · 27/12/2012 12:11

newbielisa, MN216 here again. Thank you so much for the lovely build it yourself air powered car! It was perfect for my DS and he says to thank you too...he absolutely loves it! Xmas Grin

Happy New Year and thank you again Flowers

LightHousekeeping · 27/12/2012 17:30

Is there a way to find our whether gifts actually arrived?

Stitchthis · 27/12/2012 18:38

If you know your secret Santa number, you could say so here. Then maybe your Mumsnet recipient will get in touch.

MN102 · 27/12/2012 18:40

I just wanted to say yet another huge THANK YOU to my secret santa's for the presents just for me.

The booze has been drunk, the chocolates munched, the photo frames have pictures in and the smelly stuff is ready and waiting for a quiet bath. You are both lovely, lovely people to have been so generous to me and my children, so thank you again.

I hope your Christmas was wonderful as you both deserved it to be.

DutchOmainthestable · 27/12/2012 20:13

Through circumstances no presents got opened till today. I am absolutely stunned by the generosity of my MN057 giver. The beautiful scarf and the earring and pendant set, just lovely, but the Asda token as well.... Thank you, thank you, thank you.

To Delta Code MN091

Thanks for your two lovely messages. Great to know the parcel arrived OK and that your dc liked the presents!!! (Can't take credit for your bag though - that must be some other (most likely slimmer Grin) Christmas elf!!) Really, really great to hear that the presents helped to make your Christmas a happy one but you sound like such a great mum that you were evidently doing that all by yourself anyway! Wishing you and your family all the very best for 2013!!

To Scarlet Code MN168
Thanks for your lovely message. Relieved the parcel arrived OK but a bit worried about whether you will like the contents or not as they are very er, specific. (This is the first year I have done any Secret Santas and I wasn't sure how the system worked, so present was bought before I knew how presents and recipients were chosen!) Here's hoping the kind elves at Mumsnet Towers knew that contents were appropriate for you!! Hope you had a great Christmas and wishing you all the very best for 2013!

SantaFlashesHisBoobsALot · 27/12/2012 21:37

203 Phew, I am so glad it got there okay, was worrying the entire time I was away!!

Hope you (and everyone else) had a very merry Christmas.

MN203 · 27/12/2012 22:54

Hi SantaFlashes, I have just returned home too Grin. Just wanted to add - it was so exciting for the kids and me, opening our lovely gifts on the big day. The dcs were enchanted by the whole idea of being mysterious DS and DD Xmas Smile and they really loved their presents - DS painted his elephant today and it looks gorgeous. I loved my biscuits, jams, chocs and smellies and I really, really appreciate your lovely and unexpected gifts - can't believe how lucky we've been Smile I hope you and your family had a great Christmas. xx

SantaFlashesHisBoobsALot · 27/12/2012 23:45

Ah that has made my night :) I was blessed enough to receive a gift last year, and I loved being able to send something back this time around. Buying presents for complete strangers made me feel all festive Grin I really hope 2013 is kinder to you than 2012. Love to you all. x

To SS134

Thank you thank you :)

The children adored their gifts.

I have learned a lot about Christmas this year Xmas Smile

Thanks
mn014 · 28/12/2012 09:45

ilovesprouts · 28/12/2012 12:12

santato182 · 28/12/2012 13:47

Feeling sad for those still waiting, I don't know if my parcel is still one of those as yet undelivered. If you are in kingston upon thames please let me know so I can chase it up with post office!

saintlyjimjams · 28/12/2012 13:51

Hello secret santas - I just wanted to come on here are say an extra big thank you for the gifts. This Christmas was pretty special because for the first time ever, 13 year old DS1 understood about opening presents (warning - that links to a blog but does describe out Xmas day). What I hint at in there is that I hadn't actually wrapped much for him, but having developed an understanding of presents he was really keen to open the secret Santa ones. He loved them as well. You really did contribute to an extra special Christmas (even if Arthur did die :) )

HECTheHallsWithRowsAndFolly · 28/12/2012 16:14

If 095 thinks they were forgotten - you werent! I sent your parcel well before Christmas. Tracked. It said signed for so if it hasnt come to you please let me know so I can chase it and find out who signed for it.

ilovesprouts · 28/12/2012 18:20

my ss was 094 but nothing yet hope its not gone awol .

swallowedAfly · 28/12/2012 18:53

it's awkward isn't it? i feel like some awful ingrate wondering where my gift is but it's actually that i don't like the idea of someone having spent money and sent stuff only for it to not get here. my ss hasn't appeared on these threads.

if they are lurking and just didn't manage to send it then please don't worry.

wish there was some way of mnhq checking for ss's/recipients whether the other has sent/received parcels.

LightHousekeeping · 28/12/2012 19:03

Mine was 211. It wasn't much but I do hope it arrived. Posted on the 12th.

Stitchthis · 28/12/2012 19:37

SS206 · 28/12/2012 21:02

SS206 · 28/12/2012 21:15

Hello UA. Soooo sorry I have"t been on sooner to say how pleased we are that you liked our gifts - rl and all that, I haven't had a chance to get onto my laptop to name-change.

When I say 'we', I mean DP and I, coz he has had just as much input into this as I have (though I was the one who went to the shops and the post officeWink). He found the easel ages ago and got one for our DD and another for a friend of her's birthday present, so we already knew it might work for someone in a hospital bed. The bottles were again thinking of you making impromptu overnight stays in hospital. And as for the rest, I luff Lush and want to educate the world, which is why you got that thatGrin.

I hope next year turns out better for you all. Much love and all our thoughts...
