Hello

Follow-on thread from this one.

To quote SecretSantaSandyMumsnet:

So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

MsVelvet - sorry it's not me. My MNer number is MN 020.
I've done a search on both threads and no one has posted to say they have sent it Sad
Although over 200 matches were done and I think there are only 10 people posting that they either haven't received or had notification they have arrived. Royal Mail still have a lot to answer for though

The parcel I sent sadly didn't arrive. I've been in touch with the MNer I sent it to, and with MNHQ. Have the receipt so planning to chase it up at my Post Office. I do wonder if our MN SS parcels might be especially vulnerable - just a thought ?

I sent to MN043 and never saw acknowledgement here. I'm not seeking thanks but like others have said, it would be nice to know it got there.

I received from MN176 (or was it 174?)! and never saw that acknowledged either so I hope they have lurked and know that I got their parcel.

And I know of someone on another thread who had no idea about this thread so they could say thanks...

I still think its a great idea and will be nominating and donating again next year.

I sent as well and haven't heard anything. I paid extra to have it tracked and insured - the signature on the royal mail site is just a squiggle - so if it hasn't made it, I could claim and resend it, but I've no way of knowing.

I am very late to this thread, so please accept my apologies.

I just wanted to say a very BIG thank you to MN114 for the lovely gifts I received just before Christmas. To say I was overwhelmed was an understatement - everything was so well chosen and thought about and it was a really really nice surprise.

I wish I could send you a 'thank you' card, but whoever you are, it was very much appreciated and very very kind. I had a difficult evening on Thursday and ate the Green and Blacks chocolate bar in one whole sitting. Lifesaver! Grin

Thanks

Firstly I'd just like to say a big sorry for taking so long to come on this thread to offer my thanks. Very ashamed of myself, hence NC.

I don't know who it was who nominated me/sent me a gift but I am so, so touched.

I've been going through a bit of a time of it recently (just coming out of another breakdown) and to know that someone cares enough to be so kind to me, a complete stranger, has meant the world to me. It still brings tears to my eyes Sad

Thank you again, I know it sounds really feeble but your kindness has been like a little chink of light in the darkness [pathetic emoticon] xx

FWIW the recipients do not know their secret santa numbers. Those numbers are written on the parcels and only then do they find out that they are MN050 or so on.

So if your recipient has not been on the thread to say thanks, it could be that they have not received the parcel and have no idea what their number is.

They can email Sandy and request their secret santa number. Then they could post on this thread informing their SS that the parcel was not received so that the giver can claim from the PO.

Perhaps if those who have sent and not yet heard if their parcels have arrived asked Sandy, she can email the intended recipient and just asked if they received anything?

Maybe next year recipients will know in advance what their secret santa number is and an email could also be sent to all who took part with a link to the SS thread and a reminder for recipients to post once they have received their parcel and a request that senders post once they have sent the parcels off. This would give recipients an idea as to when the parcel was posted and how many they should receive.
