RowanMumsnet · 20/12/2012 20:13

Hello

Follow-on thread from this one.

To quote SecretSantaSandyMumsnet:

So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

I wanted to say a HUGE thank you for my present from the wonderful lady who sent the most amazing gifts. Beyond generous.

The note said you and your loved ones had been ill, I hope you are all better now and have enjoyed the day. We were ill to, same norofrenzy, so we only got the parcel yesterday from the post office along with all our internet shopping :)

Your present for my DS has gone to the top of the pile as his favourite - he is currently asleep clutching the little cat. Sweet.

Thank you again.

PamSco · 25/12/2012 22:14

btw i don't know if i'm mn149 or you are!

MN107 · 25/12/2012 22:44

Dear gift giver (I am not sure if I am MN107 or you are!)

Thank you so much for the beautiful gift you sent me, - I will feel very pampered using all those lovely things Smile

And what a kind and special person you are to be so generous to a stranger, I feel touched and overwhelmed by your lovely gift and your generosity.

My family all send their love too - my DS said 'isn't mumsnet nice' Smile and he's right MN is a great place, full of great people like youSmile

I send all my good wishes to you and your family for Christmas and New Year, thank you again and bless you xx

MN086 · 25/12/2012 22:51

A massive thank you to the very kind MN063 for the voucher. I am still so overwhelmed by your generosity and the lovely message in the card too Xmas Smile

And also another really special giftbox packed with thoughtful and much welcomed gifts. The handwarmers have already been bagsied by the children. I'm crap at thankyou's usually because I just can't find the words and I'm not used to the fuss and attention Blush

But it made my day, I am glowing with the knowledge that you kind people care and are happy to make the effort for someone else to make them happy too.

I can't believe it, I really can't Xmas Smile Xmas Smile Xmas Smile

Thank you so much, wishing you and yours good health and happiness over the coming years.

Happy Christmas xxx

Dawndonna · 25/12/2012 23:05

Merry Christmas Everybody!

RabbitsMakeGOLDBaubles · 25/12/2012 23:12

Merry Christmas from me. This thread made my year. Bless you all.

YankNCock · 25/12/2012 23:31

To both my Secret Santas SS217, just wanted to say thank you again. Everything you both sent was spot on for the boys, and I'm happy to have some fancy creams and bath stuff for me, I never tend to buy it for myself! There was one book DS1 already had a copy of, but it was great because I was able to re-wrap and give it to my neighbour's little boy who I'd not been able to get much for. Really hope that's ok and you don't mind. They don't have any family nearby and neither do we, so for the 2nd year in a row we had Christmas dinner together. They cooked, since we did it last year.

Between my mumsnet secret santas, a very special shiney friend, my neighbours, my brother, and my dad, we've been very blessed with gifts and a Christmas meal we would not otherwise have been able to afford. I was feeling a bit rubbish about it all today, but DH said 'It's better to give than receive, sure, but someone has to be the recipient'. I hope next year I can be as generous to someone else as people have been to me this year.

PS - I hope the Christmas cards arrived and it wasn't too stalker-ish!

chipmonkey · 26/12/2012 01:22

MN036 here again!
Just wanted to say thank you to HariboJo again as ds1 found a Next voucher when unpacking the Wii, which I hadn't seen. That was doubly thoughtful of you.
Also, such a funny thing. MIL picks up computer games in the shops and doesn't check what console/computer before. So last night, Christmas Eve, he came up to me with this game she had bought him, for the Wii. And of course he was so disappointed that the game couldn't be used. This was a complete fluke, MIL didn't know about your lovely gift! And he was so happy to come down this morning and find your lovely present and be able to play the game. I think the Christmas fairy must have whispered in MIL's ear!Grin

Santa109 · 26/12/2012 10:08

MN109,

I'm glad that you liked the gifts! I hope that Christmas was lovely for you and wish you all the best for the new year :)

MerryLindor · 26/12/2012 11:08

SS124
Thank you again for the fantastic gifts. The DC loved their PJs and the hot water bottles. DD gave the dog the little teddy in the pocket of her hot water bottle and she has been cuddling it since.

I've stashed my chocs well out of sight of the DC. They are AdultChocs, not to be wasted on them!

My DH and my parents were amazed (again) by the power of MN Smile

Thanks
LatteLady · 26/12/2012 11:10

I just want to say a further thank you to the lovely Mumsnetters who made my Christmas... I have a box of Milk Tray (am still looking for the man in black to go with it) and some fantastic sewing accoutrements. Not just pretty pins, which I am itching to use but a fabulous handbag charm and matching button necklace, how did you know that my signature necklaces are button necklaces? I now need to track down the tape measure ribbon... it is just wonderful.

Thank you both for making my Christmas... your kindness has warmed me through and through, thank you xxxxx

PavlovtheCat · 26/12/2012 12:25

MN150 just coming back to say DD loves her bracelet making kit and DS (and DD!) LOVE the Hungry Hippos game, which we are going to play in a minute.

You are very kind, thank you so much. I hope you and your family had a great Christmas yourselves and have a fabulous 2013. xx

beans37 · 26/12/2012 13:52

MN011 here. Just wanted to say thank you so very very much to my lovely SS, who not only gave me loads of smelly candles (in a good way!), but also gave my DDs a wealth of fantastic Disney Princess stuff, hair accessories, Gruffalo bits, Mr Man and Little Miss books and an alphabet jigsaw and a fantastic watch! DDs in a happy little world playing with them, so thank you so very much. So kind.

Xx

RecipientMN007 · 26/12/2012 14:45

A huge thank you to travailtotravel for my lovely gifts.

The lipbalms were perfect- I am a lipsalve addict, you couldn't have chosen a better gift if you had tried.
I loved the little snowman and the chocolates look delicious.

I haven't spent the vouchers yet, but I'm looking forward to buying something nice in the next few weeks

Thank you for everything - I hope you and your family had a great Christmas.

MN044 · 26/12/2012 15:26

I had 2 fab parcels turn up on the same day and posted a thank you last week- but I'm here again to say a giant thank you to both secret santas. The dc have loved everything that was sent. My ds thinks the box of practical jokes is hilarious and thanks to you I now have a very realistic looking 'poo' sittign in the corner of my living room Grin and a whoopee cushion being put underneath me at every opportunity. My dd has already started the knitting and all chocolates sent have been scoffed Blush Ds2 has been very poorly for a few days, but the blow up push along thingy has been a big hit and has been the one thing he's opened as the rest is under the tree waiting for him to feel better.I haven't even mentioned everything as I'm not feeling particularly eloquent today thanks to the baby passing on his wonderful germs and am sat here in a darkened room, but I wanted you to know we had such a lovely christmas which just a few months ago didn't seem at all possible. Thanks

MNPdoesYULETIDE · 26/12/2012 16:04

YanknCock it was lovy to get your beautiful card...i am assumning DS1 was the artist. I am glad you were able to regift the copy book. So thoughtful. I hope 2013 is better for you all. santa169and217

MN104 · 26/12/2012 19:03

Dear SS104, Just wanted to come back again now that we have opened our presents. Thank you so very much for your generosity. We will enjoy spending the voucher and eating the chocolate. My 17 year old daughter is delighted with the bracelet, and I love body shop things so your choices were perfect. I hope that you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and wish you a happy 2013!

SecretSanta156 · 26/12/2012 19:31

Rabbits I haven't been back to the thread since you got your parcel, but I have just caught up with both threads, and saw your post about your DCs opening the presents before they went away for Christmas. I'm so glad you all liked everything.

I hope you are having a good Christmas yourself and wish you all a Happy New Year from the SS156 family.

fuzzpig · 26/12/2012 20:36

Hello again gonerogue and lalabaloo from MN072 :)

Just wanted to say another big thank you as we opened the wrapped presents yesterday.

Gonerogue, thank you so much for the lovely toiletries, I'm very much looking forward to using them! And I'm now the envy of my mum ("ooooh molton brown!!!") :o am excited about digging in to the shortbread too, since I love it but never buy it myself. Thanks I confess we haven't given the DCs the lovely toys yet - I am going to do this tomorrow though as they will be very sad that I'm going back to work (I'm sad too!) and they will be kept very busy by them. I have been too achy to get into town for more wrapping paper so they are unwrapped Blush but they will still love them. DH will really enjoy the knex too :o. The chocolate coins that went in their stocking were finished today - they insisted on sharing them with mummy and daddy, bless them :)

Lalabaloo, the DCs loved their presents - DS instantly set up the train track and kept winding up the train! The make your own cracker kit was spectacularly well timed too - since I was unwell on the weekend, I didn't get into town for the last few bits, and was a bit disappointed we therefore had no crackers. DD leapt on them and loved colouring them in and sticking the stickers all over the paper hats. I snuck them into the kitchen to put a little chocolate snowball thing in each one so DD was extra surprised when we pulled them all at lunch! It was fab that we had crackers after all, thanks to you :) Thanks

My parents visited today and I told them all about the MN appeal... the first thing my dad said was that we should write to Matthew Wright about it to show we aren't a nest of vipers Wink

CharlotteCollinsislost · 26/12/2012 20:56

Dear SS032 (I think),

Thank you so much for all the lovely goodies. I thanked you when the parcel arrived, and today I opened it. Yesterday was a good day, but my h has a habit of sucking the joy out of things that are important to me, so I saved it to open with just the dcs today. What lovely things. They made me feel special. Xmas Smile The kids love that movie, which they've seen once, so they're delighted to have their own copy. And we had fun with the game - it's just right for us all, lots of fun.

Thank you again for your kindness to a stranger.

JugsMcGee · 26/12/2012 21:41

MN202 - there were more donations, than nominations so some lucky people got more than one gift. I had to double check my email when I saw you post on the first thread!

JugsMcGee · 26/12/2012 21:42

Did you think I was trying to say I'd sent the present you sent? Confused

MN023thankyou · 26/12/2012 22:35

Dear ssmno23 I was so overwhelmed by your kindness in sending us such a huge box of goodies and presents Smile Everybody was thrilled as I knew they would be with the gifts you sent especially me Grin to recieve a present I havent had to drop hints and pay for is amazing. They were so well chosen as if you know us. Let me know if you do and I will thank you in rl!

Sorry for the delay in replying, we have had a lot of trouble with our broadband but as you know I asked my sister to write to you. She was wishing the parcel had gone to her house Smile

As the poster above said, thank you so much for helping us out especially as we are strangers Thanks

I hope you had a Happy Christmas and someone gave you nice presents too xxxx

SecretSantaMN202 · 26/12/2012 23:52

Oh no JugsMcGee, hadn't crossed my mind to think that you were saying you'd sent the gift that I had!
I was under the impression that each sender had a different number; so one recipient might receive from MN202 and MN123. Evidently I was wrong . Sorry Blush.
