Hello

Follow-on thread from this one.

To quote SecretSantaSandyMumsnet:

So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

Oh thank goodness there's another thread. I've been waiting a few days as I couldn't load the last one anymore (my netbook is hamster powered).

I was really, really shocked to receive another parcel the other day and I cannot stress enough how perfect it is. DD was in desperate need of new PJs (she honestly complains of 'windy ankles'; we don't correct her Grin) and they are not only the right size but also the best design you could have chosen. She will be thrilled when she opens them on Christmas morning. I will photograph it and add to my profile. DS's PJs are ACE. I am only disappointed that they don't come in my size. They are wrapped and I will explain to dd where they came from on Christmas morning. I cannot wait.

You can also be very pleased that you've saved Christmas for my Dad, Grandma and Aunt. I usually make diabetic Christmas pudding for them but this year with things being a bit tight I haven't managed to buy the ingredients. The voucher has been spent on ingredients and tomorrow morning I will whip up a diabetic Christmas pudding for the three of them to enjoy. You've made a lot of people very happy.

And finally, I'm not sure if anybody remembers me mentioning it on the other thread but it's been a rum few weeks with my Mum's cancer coming back. When I typed the last message we were waiting for some histology results. Well....

SHE IS CANCER FREE!!!

Surgery over, no more treatment needed. On Christmas Day I will sit down to dinner with my parents, grandma, aunt, dh and the dc and we will raise a glass to the wonder that is MN. It's going to be a good 'un.

Happy happy happy Christmas to SS174, the lovely, wonderful MNer who nominated me, MNHQ and the Hangers On.

Roll on 2013, year of the unicycle.

So delighted to hear about your Mum being cancer free - what a wonderful Christmas present for all of you.

My Mum recently diagnosed with Alzhaimers - she is now taking what she calls her 'miracle tablets' they seem, for now, to have halted what was a rapid decline. She just rang me for the third time today asking what time do 'I want them' for their Christmas dinner Grin Her words 'I dont know what time you bloody said....I know I am a pain in the bum but I may have to ring you again before the day!!!' LOL....and she will and I dont care!

Hi shabba - just a thought that maybe next time she calls you could suggest she writes it down ? Does she have a really obvious notice-board/ calender she can check things on ? Christmas present possibilty ?

Lovely posts from everyone here !

She writes it down and then looses the piece of paper or cant remember what its about. I told her months ago we are not crying about this - crying will not solve anything - we are going to 'kick it in the balls over and over again' and spend our time laughing!!

(Apologies for kicking it in the balls on a lovely Christmassy thread)

Hello Delta (MN091), no point in writing my real name as I very rarely post on here, am a serial lurker however, and have enjoyed being part of this secret santa mallarky, even if I am very tardy at getting things posted. I'm glad you have enjoyed your parcel, I hope the presents under the tree are okay, I have a DD(11) myself but she isn't your run of the mill 11 year old so hope that your DD likes her present, and no experience with little boys at all, so here's hoping. Your response made me a bit weepy and I'm so very pleased to have made your Christmas at all special. I will be looking out for you on the boards next year and wishing you every happiness in 2013.

This is MN011 saying an enormous thank you for my lovely lovely smelly candles. I haven't opened the presents for my DDs yet as thought would save them for Christmas Day, but honestly, I'm so grateful. How very very generous and kind. Thank you.
I've had a bit of a rubbish few months as my beloved Dad died and I miss him so very much, so this is a real spirit lifter. Thank you thank you thank you.
