RowanMumsnet · 20/12/2012 20:13

Hello

Follow-on thread from this one.

To quote SecretSantaSandyMumsnet:

So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

Thank you so very much for my very generous vouches MN144 :) they have put a huge smile on my face! My favourite place is in the bath and I know exactly what I am going to spend mine on - luxury bubble bath just for me! - what an indulgence!
dd was very impressed with you knowing which store we had in town for her voucher. She is just getting into clothes shopping, so it will be interesting to see what she chooses Grin

Thank you too to the person who nominated me. It means a great deal to me.

Some very un-mn hugs and love to you all.

MN076 and MN072 I'm so glad you both received your parcels and you are pleased with them.

MN076 I'm glad the DC are excited about chocolate, I didn't know whether they might be chocolated out by Christmas time! Make I hope you have been relaxing in the bath tonight! I'm sorry I don't recognise your username so I'm not sure if we have crossed paths on here before. Merry Christmas!

MN072 I should confess that actually I didn't wrap the presents, a kind lady at a charity present wrapping stall thingy did! I hope you are also spoiling yourself tonight :) the presents for the DCs are only small token presents, but I hope theywill enjoy them. I recognise you from some of your posts, how are things going? Have a wonderful Christmas!

I've just found your message on the first thread. I am so glad that your gift arrived safely and that you are already planning how to spend your voucher. I do hope your dd enjoys her present too. It was a pleasure putting something together for you both.

Wishing you a peaceful Christmas and a very very very happy new year Smile

Thanks lalabaloo, I'm glad you saw my post :) and don't worry about the wrapping thing, I am very pleased that some money went to charity 'on my behalf' if that makes sense. We have one of those wrapping stalls each year that I never get round to using!

Things are getting more sorted for Xmas now, haven't done any of the things I wanted to, house still a mess, but given the circumstances I think we've done well just to get the tree up let alone anything else! :) x

So, it appears I am MN106 Xmas Smile

One package has arrived and another is being redelivered as the Post Office wouldn't let me have it, pesky people!

To my Secret Santa,
thank you so very, very much Xmas Smile I have opened your lovely gifts as I couldn't wait! I LOVE the little heart you made: it is gorgeous and is now hanging proudly and beautifully in my home. I will indeed think of this amazing nest of vipers when I look at it. And as for the Italian treats....Phworrrrrr Xmas Grin I have been dropping very heavy hints to DH about the very same things. I shall demolish nibble them delicately and think of your kindness. Bless you. I am chuffed to bits Xmas Grin Wishing you and your family the most lovely Christmas. x

To my nominator:

I am so very touched to be nominated, I really am. Thank you.
I assume it is for being (as my youngest would say) 'a bissy bossy' Woolly Hugger Xmas Grin as to be honest I don't find too much time to wander far from the wool related threads at the moment.
Woolly Hugs would honestly not exist as they do without the most amazing Blanketeers: a warm-hearted, funny, generous bunch of crafters, donors and pompom wavers who offer their skills, time, money and support. They help to create the most amazing things made with love, to give comfort to others at their most difficult time. That is remarkable. They are remarkable. I'm very proud to play a small part in that and what can be achieved when people work together as they do here. Humanity itself.

Thanks to Mumsnet, I have also met some fabulous women many of which are now good friends. Sadly, some of the most inspiring of these women I have only met due to their devastating loss. How I wish that were different.

Mumsnet can be sparky, supportive, funny, a tad spikey even viperish Xmas Grin at times but it is never without heart. Xmas Smile

Wishing a peaceful festive time to all my fellow Mumsnetters and their families and a new year filled with love. x

Knotty! I shall now call you bissy bossy! Without you and pistey the woolly hugs would be in no way the success they are. You deserve your gifts so much!

I nominated you, but I'm sure I wasn't alone.

And boo to the post office! Perhaps next year MNHQ could ask for surnames to be put with the addresses, only if the recipient is happy to of course. Would prevent the m traipsing to the post office only to have to reschedule delivery.

Merry Christmas to one and all! Wine

Anyway HQ can let me know my number?

I've had the most lovely parcels for ds, dd and dc3 (who arrived wednesday and is a Girl :)) and a pressie for me but in the chaos of getting ready for hospital etc the packaging has gone, also it went to the sorting office so I'm now stupidly late in sending my thanks so sorry Blush.

Anyway, a huge heartfelt --hormonal-- thank you to the lovely mner who sent such thoughtful gifts for a ds age 5 and dd age 3 and newborn dd and me, I've managed not to peek at mine! Honestly they are so perfect for them dp asked if it was someone who knew us, ds asked for the london 2012 double decker bus but when I finally got round to going to get one they'd gone, so that and the taxi will really really please him, and dd is obsessed with those yoohoo creatures! Every thing is so perfect for them they will love it I was very emotional opening them, Really thank you SO much! I'm, well more likely dp, will be wrapping them tonight with the paper you included and were putting them in there stockings from santa. I hope from that my secret santa knows they've arrived if hq can't post my number, so sorry again for such a late response.

I really wasn?t expecting this because I had received something previously that was an amazing surprise too, and I had absolutely no idea there was something else on the way Xmas Smile

Thank you SOOOO much! I sneaked a peep into one of the golden parcels that your lovely card mentioned were for me and discovered a gorgeous box of beautiful truffles which Grandma and I laid into immediately [yum] [greedy]

The other pressies, for DCs and me, I have placed under the tree ready for Xmas morning. I know the DCs will be completely thrilled and amazed, as I am and I can?t wait to see what?s in them! And the DCs will love the singing penguins!!! They adore their teddies and these are so sweet Xmas Grin

Many thanks again for your kindness and thoughtfulness. I wish you and yours a beautiful, love filled Christmas and I send you love and thanks from my DCs and me. They haven?t had the easiest of years and they really deserve this special and surprising treat Xmas Smile

Thank you so so so much. The voucher arrived yesterday but I've been rushed off my feet and haven't had a chance to post my thanks until now.

It was lovely to be nominated. (Thank you, kind nominator) I've been on Mumsnet for a while but only really started posting this summer. We've had a tough few months with DS being diagnosed with neuroblastoma (one of the most aggressive cancers) in October. He is doing well for the moment but we will be spending most of the next 12 months in hospital, all being well.

The voucher was very generous of you and I will use it to buy some nice smellies for DH and me. It's nice to have something lovely to use at the hospital, and also nice to have something to spoil ourselves with at home.

Thank you thank you thank you and I hope that you and yours have a wonderfully merry Christmas x

I'm the sender and maker of the heart and Italian nibbles (oh, I didn't make those, just the heart!) Thank you so much for your kind message, I'm so happy you like it Xmas Smile
I don't know if you saw it, but I left another message much earlier on this thread for you after I posted the parcel, under the username SecretBanter.
I'm not familiar with your MNname but I am aware of the woolly hugs and blanketeers and even though it's not something I've been involved in, I'd like to thank you for all that you do, it's such a lovely and wonderful thing Thanks

We are just about ready for Christmas here, apart from a sudden change of plan involving some family members coming here for dinner on the day, meaning we have to brave the Christmas-Eve-Tesco-Nightmare!

Have a wonderful Christmas and a merry new year Grin

MN091 here again - I just got a second parcel this morning from C AKA the Christmas Elf :o

Thank you so much for the lovely card and the gifts for the DC Xmas Grin

I've popped them under the tree and the timing was perfect. I'm actually starting to feel all excited about christmas now. Was having a little wobble about the lack of gifts for them but they have a lovely pile now thanks to your generosity.

I really hope you all have a wonderful christmas and a happy new year!

I am the proud owner of a fabulous parcel MN150. It arrived all wrapped with parcel string like in the olden days, and I just got home in time to stop the poster taking it to the sorting office. I said as I saw him writing the card out on my wall 'is that for Pavlov?' And he replied 'are you the mumsnetter of the house?' And I said yes, he grinned and gave it to me!

I have not opened it yet, I am going to wait until tomorrow!

I want to say a humongous thank you. And sorry for taking so long to come and say it has arrived safely. I have had huge back pain this week and been a little out of it.

I did not name change as I wanted the king and generous mner know who they bought for and how appreciated it is to be thought of. xxx

And I also want to say thank you to the MNer who nominated me. I have no idea why, but on such popular forum with so many amazing and deserving people, I am overwhelmed to be thought of.
