That Santa's grotto has not be sold for a long time so I suppose it could be called a collecter's piece, especially if it is complete.

This is why I put some of the very small playmobil pieces away - so they can be put back with the larger pieces and sold on. Or I might just keep everything for me the future grandchildren Smile

hockeypuck · 15/11/2010 08:14

Whoa £104 inc postage! That's crazy!

I had success with my ice hockey playmobil purchasing yesterday - I put Gixen snipe bids in because I was out and won two sets of hockey stuff/tress/snowmen etc so I have enough goals nets to build a rink and put the stuff on for DS. I'm looking forward to making little sin-bins and team benches etc. Some of our policemen might have to be the referees and the toy zamboni we already have will not be to scale but may do the job!

This thread has brought back memories! I loved play mobil as a child.

My Dad built me a hospital, complete with wards, operating theatre, x-ray, ambulance bay, heli-pad, its was great. About 3 feet wide by 2 feet long and just high enough to be in proportion for the little people. The roof came off to reveal the treasures inside! It lived under my bed for years and years.

My Dad is wheelchair bound now and always looking for something to do. Think I shall get it down from the loft and ask him to restore it for DD.

belgo · 15/11/2010 08:32

Your dad sounds lovely suggarmuffet Smile

NoahAndTheWhale · 15/11/2010 08:36

I have been Reading this thread instead of getting dressed. This is bad.

More playmobil is needed in this house Grin. I may need a Natovity Scene as DH and I share an advent calendar.

NoahAndTheWhale · 15/11/2010 09:18

I got dressed and took children to school Grin.

I need the nativity set. And DD will be happy as it has kittens Smile.

DS is more of a Lego fan I feel but is always happy to do some nice Playmobil playing.

Do I need Kings as well?

NoahAndTheWhale · 15/11/2010 09:21

Or then there is this which seems to combine the two sets.

SoMuchToBits · 15/11/2010 09:21

Well done hockeypuck ! Bet you your dcs will have fun playing with the hockey sets!

Noah you definitely need kings with it Wink

NoahAndTheWhale · 15/11/2010 09:37

So without kings will my life be incomplete?

Should I make a bid on the ebay combined one that ends in a few hours (linked to above). I can't work out what it might be missing.

And what shall I get for DD in a playmobil line for Christmas? Looked at the unicorn castle linked to somewhere here but reviews don't look favourable.

Think she might like the camper van which is on offer in a local toy shop. May go into York and have a look.

NoahAndTheWhale · 15/11/2010 09:40

I want another Advent Calendar really as well.An old pre-loved one with a nice Christmassy scene.

Like this or this

NoahAndTheWhale · 15/11/2010 09:49

Whoever brought up the nativity topic, is this the one you have?

belgo · 15/11/2010 11:29

Noah - yes I have that one, but next year the stable will not be cardboard, it will be a proper stable and I think you should wait for that.

I have just bought this and this

SoMuchToBits · 15/11/2010 13:11

Oooh belgo I am Envy that you can already buy these sets!

SoMuchToBits · 15/11/2010 13:12

And Noah, the camper van would be a good choice.

belgo · 15/11/2010 13:13

The Christmas tree lights up for real. And the minute nativity set - a nativity set for the playmobil family - is just adorableSmile

I really need to get back to real life and get some housework done!

belgo · 15/11/2010 13:14

oh yes the campervan is very good. So is the ambulance. Some of the bigger sets eg. the girly castle are very big and expensive but not that interesting.

SoMuchToBits · 15/11/2010 14:09

Belgo I'm even more Envy now!

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 15/11/2010 19:37

Hello, just thought I would let you lovely people know that Tesco currently have the Pirate ship half price for £25 and the Playmobil 123 Zoo half price at £20.

I just purchased them for my neice and DD. Smile

NoahAndTheWhale · 15/11/2010 21:55

I am very Envy of Belgo.

Decided not to bid on the nativity set but as I did some successful selling on eBay tonight I now have some paypal balance to spend :)

SoMuchToBits · 16/11/2010 08:25

Thanks BitterAndTwisted. Sadly ds isn't into pirates, but it's always good to know of any offers going!

I have just told ds about Belgo's playmo tree with lights that light up and he is Envy Envy Envy

He has plans on buying one next year for Norman's office No 10 Upping Street. And maybe another for Bossy Ross's lifeboat station.....

SummerRain · 16/11/2010 15:47

You lot are making me want to run out and buy even more playmobil for the kids Grin

They like it but i'm not sure they'd be impressed with only playmobil appearing on xmas day and mommy hogging it and positioning everything correctly setting it up all day!

Runoutofideas · 16/11/2010 17:56

Just in case it's of use to anyone - Costco have the advent calendars for £9 something plus Vat. I bought one today with Father Christmas feeding animals. They also had a dragon themed one.

stealthsquiggle · 17/11/2010 11:05

runoutofideas as a costco card holder who has already bought advent calendars (one of which was the dragon one) from Amazon for more than that - I don't think I did want to know that.... Grin

SoMuch - picture finally on my profile, or should be - I could only find 3 out of 4, but they illustrate the differences quite well (and that's Mrs Christmas (proud Aga owner) on the end, plus random snowman and elf who just wanted their picture taken!

Runoutofideas · 17/11/2010 12:36

Sorry! Grin
