Think big slubber... think big!

You could use the extra Mary and Joseph as Elizabeth and [whatever her husbands name was] come to visit their little nephew the baby Jesus.

The extra shepards could be local villagers and the extra kings could be Herod and his minions coming in from stage left to hunt the newborn king.

SnowMuchToBits · 06/12/2010 16:07

There's a new nativity set and a new 3 kings set out in Germany this year, which means it will be available here next year. I reckon you sould buy those next year Slubber, so you can have non-identical Mary/Elizabeth, shepherds etc.....

Slubberdegullion · 06/12/2010 16:10

cor

that would be AWESOME

I'd love an evil Herod

As if having too much was ever a good reason not to get more.

SnowMuchToBits · 06/12/2010 16:13

Slubber - the evil Herod won't look terrible though, he'll be smiling nicely! Xmas Grin

Shiney - I bet you don't have as much Playmobil as we do.... Xmas Wink

SummerRain · 06/12/2010 16:13

Ooooh is it fabulous shiney? I have it for ds1 for Christmas and i'm dying to see it set up. Can I ask how long did it take you to assemble? DP thinks we should set up on Christmas day to stretch out the experiance but ds1 is getting the dragon castle and dd the circus and i reckon it'd be time to head out to my parents by the time I'd have them set up on the day!

SnowMuchToBits · 06/12/2010 16:14

Lol, slubber, same here - ds says there is "no such thing" as Too Much Playmobil. I'm inclined to agree with him too.

You ladies are doing a great job of cheering me up! Xmas Smile

stealthsquiggle · 06/12/2010 16:20

SoMuch - just as DH insists DS is too old for playmobil (he's 2 years younger than your DS!) the DC had a huge selection of lego and playmobil out yesterday and were playing some very involved and incomprehensible game for ages - with no fighting Grin

Spare king could be Herod with evil grin? (or on a good day - he can't be evil all the time...)

Our pony ranch pony is somewhat worried about where his fence, trough and half his brushes have gone already - knight (from the dragon calendar) can still just about carry everything he has got so he is OK. There is some saddle envy going on though, since the knight's horse got a seriously fancy saddle this morning.

SummerRain · 06/12/2010 16:23

I wanted both those advant calanders but the pony ranch one was sold out (was buying a heap from an online place so wanted to get them all in the same order) and i thought it might be a bit silly to get ds1 the dragon one when he's getting the goddamn castle for christmas.

Next year... Grin

mogs0 · 06/12/2010 16:24

Snow - we have the contents of number 10 but not the box! Do you think PM would provide a new box? Ds said we should just use one of the already used ones - but it just won't be the same!!

SnowMuchToBits · 06/12/2010 16:26

My dh also thinks that ds is too old for Playmobil, but ds plays with it all the time, it keep him occupied for hours!

Lol at saddle envy.

SummerRain, it would have been ok - last year ds had the police station and the police advent calendar. Nothing awful seems to have happened to him as a result.... Xmas Wink

SnowMuchToBits · 06/12/2010 16:29

I don't know Mogs, it sounds like quite an old set if it has boxes (are they cardboard?). The more modern ones have a large box with cardboard dividing grids to keep the items separate, then a cardboard front with doors that open. I don't know if Plyamobil would still stock parts for the old type. Maybe you could make your own box out of cardboard....

SummerRain · 06/12/2010 16:36

Snow... i'm sure he would have been happy either way but they only really get toys at christmas and birthdays, and the older two are asking for parties instead of presents the last few birthdays, so it seemed silly to waste his only time of year for getting toys on two very similar bits iyswim? Probably not, i'm rambilng... I rambled at dp too while i was trying to decide which to get and he sat there with this face Hmm throughout and then said 'Do whatever you want, he'll play with either of them fgs!' Blush

shiney... I just re read your post and realised you answered my question already Blush (was feeding baby and skim reading at the time, sorry!) I guess i'll be puling a late one on Cristmas Eve then if it takes 2 hours!

Ah, Shiney, you meet some lovely people on Playmobil threads! Xmas Grin

We have:-

Lots of fire stuff
Lots of police stuff
Lots of airport stuff
Hospital etc
RC trains
Cargo harbour stuff
Leisure stuff (camper van, family yacht, beach etc)
Heaps of construction stuff
Expedition ship/divers
A modern living house (but it is used by Bossy Ross as a lifeboat station, with offices and living acommodation)
Recycling truck......

SummerRain · 06/12/2010 17:21

The big black dragon was half price when bought with the castle so i picked it up too Grin

We're only discovering playmobil in the last year or so in this house so we just have:

The bin recycling truck
The vet clinic
assorted bits and bobs from 4 advent calandars

And as of christmas there'll be the circus and animal training set as well as the castle and dragon

dd has already requested playmo for her january birthday though so i think i should start investing in boxes to put it all in Grin

SnowMuchToBits · 06/12/2010 17:28

We have been collecting Playmobil since ds was 5. He was 10 yesterday.....

We have many such boxes, which are variously known as "the police box", "the leisure box" "the fire box" "the airport box" etc....

SummerRain · 06/12/2010 17:34

dd is 5, soon to be 6 and ds1 is 4 (and poor ds2 who always gets forgotton about in these conversations is going to be 2 in Feb)

I was thinking of an underbed storage box each so they can just pile everything in and push it under their beds.... not that they will, it'll be me down on hands and knees doing it every time >

Ds has a Playmobilroom playroom, which we converted from a garage (which we never really used). Best thing we ever did. It is stuffed full of Playmobil though Xmas Blush

belgo · 06/12/2010 19:09

snowmuch - sounds like heaven - do you have a playmobil figure statue? That's what I want.

SnowMuchToBits · 06/12/2010 19:15

Do you mean those giant ones that are used to advertise the Playmobil in shops belgo?
