Lol, no we don't have any!Xmas Grin We used to have a large Co-op department store in our town, with a great toy department. They had several of those large Playmobil figures, and ds always wished we could have one. Sadly the Co-op store got bought out by another company, and then closed several months later. In the closing down sale, ds was even wondering if the Playmobil figures were for sale! But they are so huge, I didn't think we would have room for one....

20% off at John Lewis atm :) plus free delivery over £30!

Picking something now for the DSes for Christmas...

SnowMuchToBits · 06/12/2010 22:08

Really????

mogs0 · 08/12/2010 19:45

I am so ridiculously excited!!

After the disappointment of not being able to find a light-up Christmas tree in NY, I ordered a christmas room set off ebay. It arrived today and ds and I have just set it up Grin. The tree is fabulous - I love it!!!

Also, the bargain set I bought off ebay a few weeks ago has been brought out of hiding (I couldn't remember where I'd put it for safe keeping Blush).

I feel very festive now and ds doesn't want to go to bed Hmm.

I'm getting a little carried away though because, for a brief moment, I thought £250 was an acceptable amount to spend on a 2nd hand, fully furnished, mansion with extra floor. I intented to re-sell the extra floor making the over-all price a bit of a bargain Hmm. I am deluded!!

Mogs Xmas Grin

We set up ds's new nativity set and 3 wise kings today. Norman is now riding a camel, equipped with a kettle and mug..... Xmas Smile

HerbWoman · 09/12/2010 12:10

Oooh - so glad I looked at this today. Have just been on the JL website and ordered a couple of bits. The tomb and the dragon catapult. I've wanted the tomb for ages, although I thought it was an Egyptian house until a couple of months ago (always wondered by it had a hole in the back wall). When I thought it was a house, DS wasn't interested, but now he knows it is a tomb, he asked for it on his Xmas list (Yay!).
Shame they had already sold out of the Dragon Tower thing as I probably would have gone for that instead otherwise.

Am very excited to have discovered this thread, thought DH and I were weird for being almost as excited about playmobil as DS1. We're even talking about going to the playmobil park in Germany next year. Has anyone been? Would it be worth it?

SnowMuchToBits · 11/12/2010 14:27

We haven't been, although I'm sure ds would love it, and so would I! Not sure about dh though.......

SummerRain · 16/12/2010 19:19

Well dd is getting even more playmobil... dp's mother has gotten her the car and speedboat. Technically i bought it but with money she gave towards presents. Unfortunately they didn't have the little motor for the speedboat so I'll have to try again in January for that.

SnowMuchToBits · 16/12/2010 19:31

I'm sure she'll enjoy it! Xmas Smile

ReshapeWhileDamp · 16/12/2010 20:40

Am so Envy at the people on this thread. DS isn't quite 3 yet, and we're expecting a Christmas baby, so not sure Playmobil will be a feature in our household for another couple of years.

Is it wrong that I really covet having a Playmobil advent calendar for myself?

SnowMuchToBits · 16/12/2010 22:07

It's not wrong at all Reshape!

In the meantime, why not get some Playmobil 123 (chunkier stuff, suitable from age 18 months) to keep them going until they are older? Xmas Smile

SummerRain · 17/12/2010 10:22

Reshape, my youngest is 22 months and even he plays with a lot of it... we have to keep and eye on him with the small bits but the bigger things he loves... I can wholeheartedly recommend the bin truck for younger kids btw, it's ds2's favourite and there are no tiny bits other than their hats.

ds1 was 3 last year when he got his first advent calendar... miraculously we still have all the bits too!

ReshapeWhileDamp · 17/12/2010 18:44

...oh god. I just bought an advent calendar from Amazon. The one with the cute woodland animals and Santa feeding them. Blush Am going to try to keep it intact until next christmas for DS.

This is ALL this thread's fault! Grin

SummerRain · 17/12/2010 19:02

dd has that one this year... it's lovely. She got a parsnip, a beetroot and two mice today. I assume they're mice anyway, they look suspiciously like the rats that ds1 got a few days ago for his police one Grin

SnowMuchToBits · 17/12/2010 20:04

Ah, we have that one this year too - we had the police one last year. Agree that the rats/mice are indistinguishable from each other. We loved the root vegetables (aparently they are all turnips, but I think they do look like a parsnip and a beetroot).

Next year we are hoping to get the Post Office one (was available in Germany this year, will be in UK next year). That's assuming ds is still into Playmobil.....

SummerRain · 18/12/2010 14:46

Funny coloured turnips Confused

Next year dd is getting the pony ranch one... i'll order it early in the year to avoid missing out on it like this year. Might get ds1 the knights as by next christmas i'm sure his dragon castle will be short staffed, he's a beggar for losing things. I'm thinking of getting ds2 the nativity next year, he's already a bit jealous of the older two having theirs and keeps nabbing pieces from them. He's surpirsingly unappeased by his choclate calandar!
