we have the big castle, it is £££ but it is fabulous. DS has had it a few years now and it is still immaculate.
the dragon and the drawbridge are superb Smile

theselegswermad · 31/10/2010 01:04

We have got way to much but I the boys just love it.
The police station and cars, bike are big favourites.
Our 8yr old stills plays with the airport and aeroplanes, but hates his younger brother touching it !!!
We got our 3yr old the fire truck and helicopter for his birthday and he plays with it everyday.
Will prob get the fire station for his next birthday.
Playmobil is a lot cheaper over here always seems to have 20% off .

StewieGriffiths- we have the hospital, and am thinking of the Farm for this year!

I have to say, our hospital is full of "in my pocket" animals as dd prefers animals to people (not daft)

Dd has actually asked for "the zoo" but I can only find a discontinued "whole" zoo and then second hand ones on ebay.

Just bought the pony farm thingummy advent calendar.

horseymum · 09/11/2010 21:10

am looking to get some for ds1 age 5 and dd age 3 to share, maybe about £30 on a set and a couple of bits to go in stockings- any suggestions and where is the best place to buy?

Tikkabillajive · 09/11/2010 22:42

Bucharest have you seen the baby animal zoo that Toys R Us do? I think it is exclusive to them.

SoMuchToBits · 09/11/2010 22:46

Oooooh, a Playmobil thread! Grin

I have done my Playmo shopping - new fire sets for ds, plus Christmas wild animals advent calendar (he had the Police one last year and loved it!)

The hospital is great, we have it, but is expensive unless you can get a good deal.

We love the police, fire and construction stuff ourselves.

Tikkabillajive · 09/11/2010 22:56

Aha, there you are SoMuchToBits! Grin

Sadly we seem to be having a Playmobil-free Christmas this year. DD is 5 1/2 and had the circus for her birthday. All she wants for Christmas is a doll and a red harmonica. And DS is nearly 3, and although he plays with the Playmobil when it's out I don't think he totally gets it yet - so if I bought any it would really be for myself! Plus our toy storage is operating at maximum capacity already. I am already looking forward to getting DS a pirate ship AND a camper van next year though!

Tikkabillajive · 09/11/2010 22:58

Oh actually, I'd forgotten we have a Playmo advent calendar (the new Father Christmas's workshop one, which my mum got in Germany) - so not entirely Playmobil-free, phew!

SoMuchToBits · 09/11/2010 23:00

Shock Shock Shockat Playmo-free Christmas!!!!

What will Norman say??? He will be horrified! Surely there is some small set you would reallly like yourself item you could get them?

stealthsquiggle · 09/11/2010 23:03

This may turn into a religious debate - do you start with builders, or reycling bin men - it's all a matter of what kind of dictatorship democracy you want to build.

Has Norman built a new parliament building yet?

DirtyMartini · 09/11/2010 23:04

We got ds the African water hole for his 3rd birthday in August, and the lion pride.I've bought the associated African wildlife care station for Xmas, as well as a hyena set and some nesting ostriches :). I managed to get 20% more off the ELC 20% discount a few weeks back by using a code from a MN thread, hence extravagant amounts.

He loves it but really, it's me who covets more.

HandbagAddiction · 09/11/2010 23:06

We have the Pony Ranch and lots of add on - horse shower, pony and trap, dressage arena, etc. plus the vet practice plus and a huge menagerie of additional animals - treats for getting swimming badges, etc. - plus dd2 (4) had the carry around farm for her birthday.

Oh and I almost forgot - stacks of the dinosaur stuff!

It still get played with lots - last weekend we had a complete dinosaur land set up with fencing and patrol car splitting it off from the farm and ranch with the vet practice acting as an emergency centre for dinosaur maulled horses and other farm animals! The entire playroom floor was covered!!

This Christmas I fear we will also be playmobil free though. Not only has DH decided we have too much (can you ever really have too much playmobil???) but also ...... Sylvannians are being requested instead............. Confused

SoMuchToBits · 09/11/2010 23:06

Stealth! Great to see you!

No new parliament building - but there was a cabinet meeting held at the weekend. Unlike the British government, Playmoland is not having such severe cutbacks (and Norman is continuing to enjoy large numbers of cups of tea).

They areall looking forward to Christmas, particularly Father Christmas, who is having to multitask at this time of year! Grin

Tikkabillajive · 09/11/2010 23:08

Yes you're right, it would be wrong wouldn't it! Am sure I can at least squeeze a figure each into the stockings, don't worry! Maybe I'll see if there's a construction worker in Norman's honour - we don't have any builders yet!

SoMuchToBits · 09/11/2010 23:08

DirtyMartini- African stuff looks great, but ds not so interested. Maybe I will have to buy it for myself!

SoMuchToBits · 09/11/2010 23:09

No builders, Tikkabilla! Shock

You could maybe get a few from the direct service..... and a portaloo!

stealthsquiggle · 09/11/2010 23:10

Would Father Christmas like some backup, SoMuch? At last count, there were at least 4 FC's in our house - I am hoping that neither Pony Ranch nor Dragon's Land advent calendars contain FC. I think our FC's spend most of their time arguing about which one of them has the best outfit (they are all subtly different Hmm)

SoMuchToBits · 09/11/2010 23:11

Lol, stealth, we will be getting another one with our advent calendar this year! I will have to spot the subtle difference (didn't realise there was one!)

Hope the Santas get on ok.....

simpson · 09/11/2010 23:12

Hi Grin

Just wondering if the play mobil advent calenders are any good!!

Will have to get one for DS (5) and DD (2.9)

Sorry to gate crash your thread!! Grin Blush

SoMuchToBits · 09/11/2010 23:13

I am wondering whether Slubberdegullion will be getting the pony ranch advent calendar (I know she has pony stuff already....)

DirtyMartini · 09/11/2010 23:13

It's good, SoMuch. It has taught me to distinguish between acacias and baobabs! DS is very keen on animals, and a major fan of 64 Zoo Lane (largely set in Africa) so it was the obvious set to start him on.

I want the camper van but I don't think he really knows what a camper van is...

Tikkabillajive · 09/11/2010 23:13

Grin I was just looking at those on the Playmobil website SoMuch! A portaloo would fit nicely in a stocking wouldn't it!

Stealthsquiggle we have 4 Father Christmases too! We find that they double up nicely as reserve firemen.

HandbagAddiction I fear we too are teetering on the edge of a Sylvanians era in our house...

simpson · 09/11/2010 23:13

Are there lots of different ones??

SoMuchToBits · 09/11/2010 23:14

Simpson, if your dcs like Playmobil, they will like the advent calendars.

Ds had the police one last year, and is still playing with it....
