18 weeks and 1 day wait ..finally got a decision this morning ..HRC I'm just so relieved it's been dealt with and there is no more waiting and stressing..good luck everyone who is waiting for an answer

Mummy335 · 27/09/2023 16:40

@Muva306 😂 thanks for replying to me. My dd got awarded mrc but declined mobility I wasn't sure whether to proceed with Mr or not, but I know she is entitled.(hope.ive done the right thing)😬 So I've sent it off today. They clearly didn't read the form properly.I think they have just read the medical reports and letters my family members wrote as it says that's the reason was awarded. she was actually declined last year but I left it as I was stuck on where to go.Well done for doing MR and hope you get somewhere and soon 🙂 the anxiety starts again!! I spoke to them 3 weeks ago when she was awarded, she said that MR are taking 3 weeks BUT then I'm sure I read somewhere 13 weeks but I don't really want to wait on the phone for an hour, because I'm just going to get told different times most probably.x

Congrats hun. Such a long time isn’t it. Can I ask how did you find out? Im 17 weeks tomorrow, called today, still not with DM. I don’t wanna call again so working out if that’s how people have found out (by phoning) or they had a payment or text….

Jesshol36 · 27/09/2023 17:49

Hi everyone

How long does it usually take to recieve a letter to say they've received your claim? I've rang 3 times a day for the past 3 days and on hold over an hour and no luck. Sent forms off about 4 weeks ago. Has anyone been approved for a child with mental health issues-social anxiety and depression which stops them attending school?

Mariaj2404 · 27/09/2023 18:08

@Mummyof6love hi hun I got a text this morning at 8.30am and then I rang up to find out all the details .I rang yesterday and it had been reallocated to a new decision maker ..it had been with some one else for 1 week and they must have gone off on leave so it got passed on to some one new ..then today I got the text .I hope you hear soon

Muva306 · 27/09/2023 18:17

@Mummy335 I don’t think they actually read the forms!! They stated 1 of the reasons for declining was he was on no medication for itching or constipation…… no mention was made of him having either 😂 he persistently skin picks and have the worst poo’s and then smears over the bathroom If I’ve not got to him quick enough to wipe him!! I’ll take one for the team tomo and call them and see what they say 😂 will be good to see how quickly they scan them in too!! It will have been a week since I had sent my forms, I know they were delivered Friday from the tracking. I only realised after filling the form in that you can do a MR over the phone but I don’t think I could get all my points across as well as you can in writing
xx

Wishiwasincornwall · 27/09/2023 19:07

Scan date 30/5 Rang up on Monday as it was 17 weeks and was told wait is now 20 weeks... Got a text at 10.45 this morning saying awarded. Didnt see the message as I was at work so at 3pm Phoned to see what rate. On hold for 1hour 45 mins, lady apologised saying system was slow because of the storm. After all the security questions etc Just as she was about to tell me what he was awarded the phone line when dead. At this point it was 4.55 so thought no hope of getting another call answered but she called me back and told me he was awarded hrc lrm. Son turns 16 in January so already almost time to go through it all again with the PIP process.

Mummyof6love · 27/09/2023 20:15

@Mariaj2404
ah, I’m pleased you got an answer today. I’m not even with a DM yet so not holding out much hope I’ll hear anything untill end of next week (I’m 17 weeks tomorrow) Hoping I get a text. Xx

Mummyof6love · 27/09/2023 20:17

@Wishiwasincornwall congrats on your award hun. What a nightmare the phone cut off but sooo good they called you back. When you called Monday, did they tell you it was with a DM or not? My scan date is 01/06 and phoned first thing today to be told not with DM. The waiting is literally driving me loopy xxx

Wishiwasincornwall · 27/09/2023 20:32

@Mummyof6love When I called Monday it hadn't even gone to the DM yet so either got it later on the Monday or even yesterday. It must have been a pretty easy one to determine if they turned it around so quick. Provided evidence going back over the last 3 years and a lot of support from school in the application process so I guess that helped massively. Fingers crossed you get some answers soon. I could have applied when he was 2 but kept putting it off thinking other kids need it more but it's at that point now that he is almost 16 that it really shows just how much support he needs and he
definitely deserves it.

JME85 · 27/09/2023 20:40

Does anyone know if back payments are normally made on Wednesdays? Or can it be any weekday?

I’m 17 weeks today still not with a dm as of yesterday hopefully not much longer for us

TonyS74 · 27/09/2023 20:51

My scan date was 24/5 got a letter through the post today informing me of my responsibilities as the carer, with a vague reference that my DD had been awarded. I have had no other letter or text, so I checked the bank account it was due to go into and it actually went in yesterday (no notification from bank either) I can work out that it's MRC and LRM which will go a long way to helping out. Wish everyone good luck going forwarded, it's a very stressful and prolonged process.

Mamto3boysX · 27/09/2023 22:01

Same scan date here!
Called today and was told 17.5 weeks for the decision to be made on average. I guess we just have to wait x

BoyMumGirlMum2022 · 27/09/2023 15:28

@MummyBrx
Some one else with the same date as us has been awarded. So I dunno what to think now. I'm so anxious and undecided whether to call or not. Had planned to do so Friday. But don't know its worth it or not. I sent so much evidence and a statement from our HV plus they have my sons physio details. But as we've been declined before, I just can't help have this doubting feeling. Ugh,.this is awful.

I know hopeful that we are lucky and get a decision soon but realistic to think I probably won't haha. I'm not putting myself through the stress of ringing up sounds a nightmare with being cut off etc. If I get passed 18 weeks I might but it's 15 weeks this Friday so I'm hoping I will know in another 2 week. I didn't have a lot of evidence to send as we are awaiting assessments and stuff so all I've put down is all the extra stuff we do plus a statement from school. Fingers crossed for us all

BoyMumGirlMum2022 · 28/09/2023 01:32

@MummyBrx
I sent off a ton of letters, past reports and stuff. So hoping that will go in our favour, plus they have contact details for medical professionals etc..
But I've known people to send nothing apart from the form and they get it.
I think I'm more anxious as he's been declined once before as he wasn't "disabled enough" as they so politely put it. Unsure how that can be when he can't walk ( literally only just started to attempt steps in the last 6ish months) he has to bum shuffles everywhere or be carried. Feels like a losing battle sometimes.

Chels2020 · 28/09/2023 07:29

Good luck to everyone today anyone with scan dates close to end of may keep me posted please I can’t phone more nervous than anything x

Mcg84 · 28/09/2023 07:32

Scan date 26/05 had a call from decision maker on Monday and she awarded my daughter after the call and money arrived today ....not much longer for you all to wait 🤞

Chels2020 · 28/09/2023 07:54

Congratulations can I ask why they rang you? I’ve never heard of them ring people x

Mcg84 · 28/09/2023 09:04

They rang to go over night time needs . The DM said she would finish the form that day or day after and that I'd receive a letter in the post in 3-5 days or I was welcome to call for an update so I called on the Tuesday and got told she had made the decision after our call x
