Do all claims need a birth certificate sent? I never sent my son's as from what I can remember the form never asked for it and I scanned it around 6 times before I sent it to make sure I had everything. My scan date was 25/7 I've not had any letters asking for one, and when I rang a few weeks ago it wasn't mentioned.

Great news!! My scan date is also 06/06 so hopefully I will hear soon too!

svcan date 5/6 - i called and it is still with decision maker as hasnt been looked at yet, he said i might be bottom of pile haha. but he put a note that i will get a text when decision is made to save me calling in. x

I don't recall ever sending my son's birth certificate and it has never been requested. Not by letter or during a phone call I made recently so maybe it's not for everyone?

Hi, not posted before but thought it might save somebody else the worry or having to call themselves. I also questioned myself this morning and had a panic over not sending my sons birth certificate. My partner just called and the lady said she doesn't think he needs one as his date of birth is already showing as verified. She asked if we had been contacted to request one which we haven't so im hoping its fine. If for some reason they do ask for one I will let you know. Our scan date is 08/06/23 and with regards to an update, all she said is that they are now taking 19 weeks so back to waiting I guess.

I think most of the time they can verify the child by child benefit etc and the odd few will be asked for a birth certificate! Not everyone needs to send one. That’s what I’ve seen from advice. When I spoke to them this morning they did say they were looking at claims in and around the first week of June so a few of you are close.

2 letters 2 texts not had anything about a birth certificate so assume this only certain claims not sure.

Scan date 08/06, just called, was on hold for 50 mins then a lovely guy answered who said it’s with the decision maker and said he’d add a note to text me once the decision is made.
I’m not confident that we’ll be awarded what I was hoping for, things have got worse since we first applied and it would just help us so much.

Wow, I posted 20 minutes ago after the phone call about the birth certificate, and just this minute got a text to say he qualifies! Not sure of the rates and I really don't have it in me to call again so I will wait for the letter. I'm not sure why she didn't tell me that on the phone, unless they literally just looked at it. Regardless of the rates I am just so glad the wait is over for us as it has been such an exhausting and anxious wait. Good luck to everybody still awaiting a decision, I hope your littles all get what they deserve! x

Scan date 05/06 called was on hold 60mins lovely guy said we was awarded last Friday and backdated payment one way so happy 😊

Ive just sent my sons birth certificate with next day tracked delivery hopefully it doesnt delay us too much. 17 weeks tomorrow. I assumed they didnt need to see it as I didnt get a letter 😩

Scan date was 08/06, it took them 2 or 3 weeks to scan it is otherwise it would have been much earlier. I'm doubtful that they will be going by the stamp date as it was slightly late by the time they scanned it. I'm just so thankful that his needs have been recognised, my other son was refused a few years back and I never fought it so I wasn't hopeful this time around. Really hope lots of you get some good decisions this week. The wait really is awful x

Called this morning still not with dm she said we are looking at next week :/ deflated but who knows could be earlier I just want to know if I need to do a Mr I got all the paperwork ready pmsl

Scan date 14/6 - glad I didn’t ring going off this mornings posts.
The time frame seems to be getting longer and longer. My anxiety can’t take much more of this 🙈

scan date 13/06

I called at 9am got through in 15 mins. Was told not with DM and gave an estimate of over 18 weeks so unreasonable. It’s like they change their mind to whatever they feel like, my call handler this morning was so blunt and try to tell me how many weeks I am. By this morning post we are well into it. Hopeful 9/06 will start announcing awards I really can’t do another weekend of anticipation.

for the birth certificate enquires. I was sent a letter after a few weeks to post original and they sent it back fairly quick maybe a week. I assume it was too show parental responsibility and like others have mentioned it’s probably random who they ask.

Called Friday just gone (17 weeks 3 days), told it was with a decision maker but might not get looked at for a week or more depending on how busy the DM is.

Text a short while ago with their decision (17 weeks 6 days).

I still think that the DM’s say the first thing that comes to their heads regarding the dates, or maybe they’re told to over estimate to stop the calls. But still going from these threads most people find out between 17&18 weeks if they are successful. I will be 17 weeks & 5 days next Monday so I will hold out til then.
I actually feel like I’m talking about a pregnancy when I count the weeks. Give me strength 🫣😅

Also had my second text today, a day earlier than we thought. Scan date 12/7 too.

It’s the most nerve wrecking thing isn’t it and defo gets worse as the days go on. I think they are saying 18.5 weeks now to over estimate it a little as most seem to be having a result around 17 weeks. I’m glad we have this thread with us all in a similar situation.
