New to this thread ....Has anyone with scan date 07/06 heard anything yet first time claiming and holding off ringing but seeing if anyone else around this scan date ?

There are a few people mentioned around that scan date that with DM awaiting a decision. I expect you will hear by early next week. You’re better off calling to get a better estimate on how long left.

zoeybrooks45 · 07/10/2023 17:39

Anybody else having a really long weekend knowing that next week might be it 😂 I really hope we start hearing a lot more award announcements next week.

i hope everyone keeps the thread up to date with scan date, award, duration and how they heard. You can also state what evidence you provided. Hopefully a positive week ahead! X

@PinkMoscatoLover
Ahh okay, makes sense now.
Yes, my Little boy has never been able to walk. In the last year he's taught himself to walk about 10 steps and that's all he can manage before his leg gives way.
We don't have a medical diagnosis of what's wrong or if it'll ever be sorted... all we know is a lot of it is probably caused by my loss of amniotic fluid for 5 and half weeks at my 20 week redo scan. He.got stuck with his right leg bent up covering his man parts. So getting this for him has made me feel like ve righted the wrong that my body failed to keep him as safe as it should have. 💔

Kaymumof4 · 07/10/2023 18:03

My scan date was 05/07 so still a little while to go so far had 2 letters and 2 texts last text I received was on Monday

Oh bless you, please don’t blame yourself! I’m glad you managed to get the HRM for him as rightly deserved xx

Mummytodo · 07/10/2023 18:06

I hope I get a two year award for my daughter, it would indicate they believe there may be some progression

Yep, I’m so tempted to call Monday but i know I won’t get very far. Il hold out until Thursday, when it’ll be 17&1.
My boy was 3 in august. Non verbal. I say non verbal, he says lots of singular words and sings all the songs, but nothing really in context. I’m hoping the next part of his speech comes when he starts understanding a bit more.
we haven’t had any involvement yet with SLT, just a referral to them and community paeds.
we have portgage involved at nursery who have been great and the Senco at nursery gave lots of evidence about his risks etc.
I really hope we’ve submitted enough evidence!

Asdmummyhere · 07/10/2023 18:36

my scan date is 6/7, 2 texts the last being Monday too. Only the letter to state scan date no more. I am on pins waiting as my son needs 1.1 care constantly even the few hours he does at nursery. Yet UC are making me look for work and it’s physically impossible. Fingers crossed it’s not too long now. Goodluck x

Charlotte19xxx · 07/10/2023 18:36

Let’s hope, they consider how much anxiety it causes us all waiting.. fingers crossed for us all. Although due to my child’s age I believe it’s hard to get anyway, I applied 6months and was told that’s the care needed to provide for a 6month old? Cpr, due to her stopping breathing all the time constant sezires ect.. and got refused then, so I’ve not got much hope this time
sometimes I wish they could live our lives and not just work of a marking system

LizBennet · 07/10/2023 18:57

Definitely @Charlotte19xxx, come and spend 48 hours with our children 😴

Asdmummyhere · 07/10/2023 18:57

Your boy sounds like mine. 3 in august, non verbal but can say singular words. Loves to sing songs but can’t have a conversation or say what he wants or needs. His development is 12 months and even 4-6 months in some areas. He has had 2 SALT appointments, only one face to face but couldn’t keep still at all. With a pedestrian and his senco worker at nursery filled in the form for me about someone else who knows him. Got my fingers and toes crossed for everyone waiting

Yep, dla aside, have you looked into Gestalt language processing? It’s how our boys learn to talk (eventually)
Nursery wrote in their initial review he was 3-6 months developmentally so I hope the dm reads that 🫣 x

Asdmummyhere · 07/10/2023 19:24

I have no idea what that is lovely. I kind of feel like when the health visitor came to see him at 2, it went a million miles an hour and I kind of had to take it in everything so quickly and then it went mute. He’s now getting a ehcp and it went really quickly again and saw so many people. I have the salt report for his ehc but I don’t think it’s worth anything. She wants me to try imaginary play. Which I have but he’s really not bothered about toys x

I'm the 8/06 and I rang Thursday when I was 17 weeks and was told not with a d.m yet but should be that week or latest next week so I probably will phone Tuesday and see what the story is. Hopefully not too much longer for us. Are you going to call them?

MCcrazymummyx · 07/10/2023 19:41

I will ring Monday morning as I had a private number ring today when in the car wasn't quick enough to answer but it didn't ring again or call the landline at all. It may have been them or not but going to ring to be sure. Except from 2 letters I havnt received anything else from them. Hopefully it's not long for us and get some good answers this week x

Aw you should look it up. It’s the reason how they know songs but they don’t know how to communicate yet. It’s so fascinating and makes you realise a lot - well it did me! Same, it’s gone mute but recently started the process of applying for EHCP. Xx

Mummytodo · 07/10/2023 20:03

My daughter sounds similar, she is 4.5 she has just started to understand a little more but still non verbal really hope she is able to communicate more soon she's really trying x

PinkMoscatoLover · 07/10/2023 20:37

Best of luck to you.
My son is so hit and miss with walking, I don’t think we will get mobility until he is 5 even though he probably meets all criteria of the SMI route apart from having a diagnosis x
