I hope everyone gets good news this week and your children get the support they need I'm hoping to hear something next week or the week after now the anxiety is unreal but I had a call from my health visitor which has cal.ed me a little I suffer with bpd and I panic about these things she is coming round to help me set up a Mr just incase and is going to contact everyone involved in my daughters care to do a write up and put a claime in for my 2 year old non verbal pre diognosis I told her I don't think it's worth trying at this age or worth the stress but she s adamant it is and is going to do the forms with me what do you guys think ? She sleeps well compared to my other child but 12pm to 7am her daytime needs are so high tho but I feel as she's 2 they will just consider this normal care she's non verbal and I suspect she has gdd and asd her assessments in November is it worth the stress of trying or should I wait till she's older ? Foes she even fit the criteria it's strange because she's alot less functioning (currently functioning st about 6-9 months) than my other daughter but because she sleeps well (must be all the bouncing and pacing and meltdowns she's constantly moving) I feel she won't get as much support medically and financially

They have both also been referred to portage I've never heard of them ? Are they helpful ?

Your case sounds quite similar to my DS who is 2year 6months. Is your child under any SALT or OT? On the waiting list for ASDAs? Has she had a hearing test done? Does she attend any nursery? It’s very hard when LO is young but such as yourself I have an older child, and the difference in care needs is significant and with being non verbal, I sometimes find it overwhelming but hopefully if we get accepted it should ease transition with sensory equipment and therapy etc. I think we have a similar scan date and the anxiety is driving me crazy sometimes. I am thankful my DS has a lot of support in place and attends therapy weekly however this is something I had to fight very hard for. Sending hugs x

Out of interest, do you press the option numbers before they are all read out to you? As I rang at 9 last week and still waited 40 mins 😂

StephanieCee · 02/10/2023 09:41

Hi, currently on the phone to DLA, my scan date is the 16th June, would it be too late to send in more evidence? i.e my sons speech and language report? I thought I sent in but just found it in his folder I keep?

Sskanf · 02/10/2023 09:47

Wonderful news for those awarded and forms with a DM. I keep getting cutting off when I call what option numbers do you press for those who have got through

Thought so lol, I will def be doing that next time!

Mummyof6love · 02/10/2023 09:54

Anyone trying to get through to DLA and having a nightmare? I normally get cut off at the end of the options but I’ve been trying a few times and it’s either not connecting, cutting me off or sending me to the complete wrong section-like pensions or something else not DLA related. 😩 Is this a sign?! 🙈

StephanieCee · 02/10/2023 09:56

I’m on the phone now, currently 25 minutes in x

Mummyrach13 · 02/10/2023 09:57

Amazing so happy for you and your child, what was your scan date please?

zoeybrooks45 · 02/10/2023 10:03

Just an update

Scan date 13/06

I rang this morning at 09:05 and it took me 48 mins to get through. Very kind gentlemen and honest. He states my claim should be with decision maker by Friday and I should get a decision next week. Which is what I was expecting 10/10 is 17 weeks for me. I am currently 16 weeks. It seems you should get a decision within 5-8 days of DM getting your claim. All the best guys, my DS is having surgery on the 16/10 so hopefully will hear before then.

PookyBoo77 · 02/10/2023 10:03
