Following. We got oldest ds last week from form sent off on 15 May and about to fill in ds2’s form

Lottiexx3 · 01/10/2023 16:34

Hi everyone, I have applied for my daughter with ASD she’s 13. Sent everything off almost a month ago but still not had confirmation they received it. When should o know this?

Jneill2021 · 01/10/2023 16:36

I would ring tomorrow and ask if they recieved it, I sent in a change of circumstances in May and never recieved anything had to ring to check xx

BoyMumGirlMum2022 · 01/10/2023 16:37

This wait is excruciating..
My LB has never walked and at the rate these specialists are going he never will. He's taught himself how to take few steps here and there now at 3 & a half but that's all.
We've been refused DLA once before as in their words 'he isnt disabled enough to qualify', we've just hit 15 weeks on Friday, I'm so worried and stressed that he's going to be refused again. I just wish these decisions were quicker.
I have to pay out so much weekly to get to and from appointments and stuff as I don't drive and public transport can be a nightmare to get a buggy on round here. Especially as I'm now pushing a double buggy with him & his sister in.
I'm torn between phoning and seeing what's happening or whether to try and hang on in there. Does anyone have any words of wisdom or positive thoughts they can send my way.
One stressed and anxious mumma!

Evening everyone, I hope you are all holding up. It’s such an anxious time waiting. My scan date is 02/06 so I’m really hoping some June dates start getting decisions coming through this week. I tried to ring Friday and was on hold for an hour and 20 minutes before I was cut off! So I have no idea if my sons claim is even with a DM yet. Stay strong, hoping more of us get good news this week x

My scan date is also 02/06, I rang Friday and they told me it was still not with a DM, I’m hoping it may of been passed to one later that day. Fingers crossed we hear back this week with good news. So anxious with the wait, it’s been 4 months too long xx

BoatsAndHoes · 01/10/2023 21:18

My scan date was 25/5, I last called for an update on Thursday which was my 18 week mark and was just told it's now a 20 week wait, I asked if it was with the decision maker yet and she didn't seem to know 🤷🏻‍♀️ Is anyone else still waiting for a decision from around the same date as me....?!

Tbh I'm thinking my son is going to get rejected, he 'only' has dyspraxia but I was quite detailed with all the little things he needs help with throughout the day, like opening bottles, doing up buttons and zips, he has terrible memory problems so needs reminding constantly of things he needs to bring to school/back home, he does special classes at school to help with his core strength, etc. I included a report from an OT too detailing all this.

PookyBoo77 · 01/10/2023 21:20

@Mamto3boysX gosh I really hope we hear this week, I don’t think I can cope with any longer. The anxiety is killing me x

I’m 15th june. Becoming more and more anxious as the days go by. Even more so when I see the occasional one go through that’s close to the same date.
stay positive. I’m going to spend the week deep cleaning my house to keep me busy 🤣

PookyBoo77 · 01/10/2023 21:44

My scan date is 25/5 and I received back pay on Friday followed by a letter yesterday. 18+1 wks, hopefully not much longer for you.

All I sent in was his ASD diagnosis report, I don’t think I filled in the form particularly well.

Good luck x

Thank you, hope you're not waiting too much long either x

almightyfroggie · 01/10/2023 23:09

Please keep us posted on the outcome of your calls, ladies. Not sure if I'll be able to call them tomorrow. Best of luck ❤

Mummyof6love · 01/10/2023 23:23

Called Friday and was with DM. 17+1 day. Scan date 01/06. Not hopeful at all. The more I re-read what I sent (I took photos of every page) and the reports I sent in, I don’t think it’s enough. May call tomorrow to see if decision has been made. Will keep thread updated. Xx

Luevzamum · 02/10/2023 01:36

@Jneill2021 this is exactly what I’m trying for at the moment. My scan date for coc is 9th June. He already gets hrc, he’s 13 and it was only recently I read that he definitely meets the criteria for hrm, due to his smi. I hear coc are taking a lot longer than new claims. When was your scan date? Thanks x

Jneill2021 · 02/10/2023 06:32

4/5 I'm tempted to ring but at same time keep thinking is there any point lol yeah around 26 27 weeks it's silly half a year to look at a claim xx

Ellejkjlljhb · 02/10/2023 08:09

I think it's very much hit and miss on who you get in regards to messages or if they tell you or not tbh some do some don't I'd call

Sskanf · 02/10/2023 08:24

Does anyone know time frame for new claims I had my letter said 15 weeks. I was also told the same on the phone, but I know this can vary

Ellejkjlljhb · 02/10/2023 08:25

I hope everyone gets good news this week and your children get the support they need I'm hoping to hear something next week or the week after now the anxiety is unreal but I had a call from my health visitor which has cal.ed me a little I suffer with bpd and I panic about these things she is coming round to help me set up a Mr just incase and is going to contact everyone involved in my daughters care to do a write up and put a claime in for my 2 year old non verbal pre diognosis I told her I don't think it's worth trying at this age or worth the stress but she s adamant it is and is going to do the forms with me what do you guys think ? She sleeps well compared to my other child but 12pm to 7am her daytime needs are so high tho but I feel as she's 2 they will just consider this normal care she's non verbal and I suspect she has gdd and asd her assessments in November is it worth the stress of trying or should I wait till she's older ? Foes she even fit the criteria it's strange because she's alot less functioning (currently functioning st about 6-9 months) than my other daughter but because she sleeps well (must be all the bouncing and pacing and meltdowns she's constantly moving) I feel she won't get as much support medically and financially

They have both also been referred to portage I've never heard of them ? Are they helpful ?
