I've had a look at the smi chart and he seems to tick every box to be honest, I just don't think sometimes they take in to account how hard it can be for a child with additional needs unless you care for a child with certain needs it's hard for people to understand x.

As long as you have evidence to back up every point then you’ll be fine! Good luck

Wouldn’t worry about the text message I didn’t get one with either of my sons this week and I opted for one new claim from
31/05 like you no one rang me I had to ring them so I really wouldn’t read too much into it what did he say on the phone? Xx

Daryl54 · 01/10/2023 12:48

My scan date is 31/05 and thankyou
he just ask did he have a diagnosis which the pedestrian (can’t spell lol ) said he is autistic but he’s on the spectrum he wanted to know if I had it on paper ect but I haven’t he’s on the path way so maybe I got confused. And said he’s going to process it all and I will get a decision by post but the doctor said he won’t get refused on the spectrum as my ds is more destructive and needs help with behaviour ect but I have no input of doctors or anythink and worried as I thought they could tell you on phone there decision xxxx

My oldest she's 8 now she's gets much and lrm but she and her brother are complete opposites in there mobility and care needs. My youngest diagnosed asd gdd receptive and expressive speech daily he's basically non verbal also suspected adhd but won't diagnose yet as they say have to wait till 6 years old. Happy birthday for your little one for tomorrow x

Not an easy one for you then
Sending hugs. My eldest (14) is the new claim we are waiting for. She's diagnosed ADHD , LD, SPD and we are having her Ados done on Tuesday. She needs so much more looking after than my little one these days, so really hope we can get a positive outcome x

And thanks for the birthday wishes x

Billie1993 · 01/10/2023 13:11

@Clazamumof2girls you’ve got the same scan date as me but I sent mine on the 5/7/23 and then received a letter with my scan date of 12/7/23. We're almost at the 12 week mark now but seems to be dragging even more now.

hopefully the next few weeks goes faster x

Mummytodo · 01/10/2023 13:12

My daughter sounds so similar I am hoping to hear from DLA soon and that it's positive so I can get her some speech therapy. My scan date is 15th June I'm getting nervous

Clazamumof2girls · 01/10/2023 13:33

Yeah hopefully not too long to wait 🤞I think I’m a little in front as sent mine 12th June but scan date is the 29/6. I’ve been getting more statements written up this weekend as wasn’t sure I’ve put enough detail in the form so sending it off tomorrow so I’m a way hoping it doesn’t get seen by a DM before they get the extra information. My nerves are on edge all the time at the moment. I really hope she gets it as it’ll make such a difference as currently having to pay for her to get to a certain school and UC won’t accept I need a 3 bedroom until she has DLA even though we have a diagnosis and supporting letter detailing why she needs her own space. Good luck anyway xx

Mumofwildones · 01/10/2023 15:46

Hey guys.

Just sharing in case it helps others. I had a scan date of 26th May.
had 2 texts and 2 letters, last text was august 21st and last letter was 9th august.

my son has ADHD and ASD plus demand avoidance disorder he’s 9. This is diagnosed and all I sent in evidence wise was his diagnosis letter and ECHP which wasn’t finalised until July this year. Other then that is was just what I filled in,

Wed I had a backdated amount of £1600 (low mobility and middle care) or there outs which was 18 weeks. I didn’t get a text to say he was awarded and I’ve heard the Dm is working from home you don’t get a message anyways.
the letters about his claim weren't received until yesterday so think it just depends whose desk i thanks on.

renewal is not until 2027 now. Hope they helps :)
