@Chuggychall oh no that is terrible and makes absolutely no sense what so ever!! Annoying I know because it means calling again but call and ask for the reasons over the phone and ask for them to send a detailed breakdown out to you and tell them you want to start the MR process. You can do it over the phone or if you wait for the detailed breakdown you can fill
in the form and send back but they will register that you have started the MR process when you call

Muva306 · 29/09/2023 09:37

@CHDmumma its horrible knowing it’s with DM and having no answers, especially over the weekend

I don't know whether to ring them again and just see. I don't want to be annoying but my nerves are barely holding.

I'm hoping you are successful with your MR - the DM that looked at yours sounds awful and also sounds like they just skimmed your application x

Lozzy2000 · 29/09/2023 09:40

I’m 15 weeks this week, the waiting game is the worst! I want to ring and ask but I wouldn’t have a clue what to say 🙈

Also I would rather know so.i could start getting ready if I need to do a MR I then have the weekend to prep. X

Mummyof6love · 29/09/2023 09:44

@CHDmumma whats your scan date hun? I’m was 17 weeks yesterday, called Wednesday…not with DM. Have a free morning so currently on hold to see if any update. Not sure how I’d feel if they tell me with DM then have the weekend to deal with. Xx

31/5 I was told it was with a DM and has been since Tuesday. I'm going to ring, let me know how you get on xx

Chuggychall · 29/09/2023 09:47

@Muva306 thank you ever so much for your response. I asked for a detailed breakdown when I called - I will try to get through again to start the process as you suggested - My DD received her payments up until 14/04/2023 and I missed the renewal date due to surgery so I put in as much information as I could for the new claim. It just doesn't make any sense to me why they would refuse when her circumstances literally haven't changed?! I guess it is the nature of the beast that is DLA for children - Makes me so angry as this whole process and seeing people wait for such a long time, is failing our children

I've read on here about people unable to provide children with wheelchairs, care and support because they are waiting so long for a decision! I'm furious as I will be unable to pay for overnight carers moving forwards and need to cancel her tutoring as I can't continue to pay for them.

Mummyof6love · 29/09/2023 09:48

@CHDmumma
Will do, currently only 11 minutes in 😂😂 Oh, I would defo ring and see as it’s been with DM a few days now. Be great if mine went to DM Wednesday afternoon and decision was made and they can tell me today. Haha….I live in hope! Xxx

I called 2 days ago, got told it was with a DM and since I've been on edge. This feels worse than the 17 week wait, my gut is telling me he's been denied 😔

Keep positive I’ve not heard for my other sons new claim 31/05 not even chasing it because o don’t think he’ll get it especially not now I’ve just been awarded hrc/hrm for my other son xx

Here we go, 3 minutes down 😂 I think I will cry if they still haven't decided in all honesty. Some go so quick and have answers within a day. Xx

Lozzy2000 · 29/09/2023 09:52

I’m 6 mins in, no idea what to even say to them 😂

I've relented and called, surely it shouldn't matter if your other son has been awarded, Is that a thing? If so that's completely unfair as each child should be looked at irregardless of others in the house x

Mummyof6love · 29/09/2023 09:53

@CHDmumma
I know. I’ve seen some call up 1 day to not with DM to 3 days later decision made. Hence I’m living in hope 😂
I didn’t give the first 15 weeks a second thought….week 15 onwards…it’s sending me loopy! Everything crossed you get an answer today. I’m sure mine will be-not with a DM, try again next week. Xxx

CHDmumma · 29/09/2023 09:56

@Mummyof6love yes that is exactly it! On a previous thread I saw it happen in a day! I'm hoping yours is with a DM or even a surprise decision. Since I pressed call I have butterflies 🙈

StephanieCee · 29/09/2023 09:56

Hi, just a quick question if you get awarded when do they back date from? Is it the day you rang for the forms or the day your forms are scanned? Currently on week 16 so still a few weeks to go for a decision

Definitely fight it if they come back with that reason as its not on! Keeping everything crossed for you x

Muva306 · 29/09/2023 10:00

@CHDmumma AWWW thank you 💗💗 that’s why I preferred to do my MR in writing so I could really highlight all the points I disagreed with, I feel over the phone it would if ended in a shouty rant with them probably disconnecting the call 🤦🏽‍♀️😂

It would be so much easier if they had an online system where you could see updates

Edited

You're welcome, I'm exactly the same I can get my points across better in writing than on the phone. I would probably end up in a puddle of tears and no one would be able to understand it 😂

I'm calling, just to see and if it's a no its a weekend of form filling, new info sorted and more stress 🙃

Good for you! It's a soul destroying process in all honesty.
Hopefully not, I'm 17 weeks and 2 days and it went to a DM at 16 weeks 6 days xx

No wonder the other thread has been quiet, everyone’s over here!

Yep, the DLA FB group is mega strict! They pick and choose which posts they allow even if it doesn’t break the rules. They act like they get paid for this lol

Chuggychall · 29/09/2023 09:21

Good morning All.

Scan date 26/05/2023 - Called this morning and been advised that a decision has been made on claim on 26/09/2023 and it has been refused - Decision doesn't make sense to me as DD was previously in receipt of DLACH and DLAML without a diagnosis, and now she has the official diagnosis and support in place at school and still has the same medication. I supplied lots of evidence with my forms and put it lots of information. They didn't even call the school or the carers that help with my DD overnight - Does anyone know if I need to wait for the letter to submit a Reconsideration as the decision this time just makes absolutely no sense?

You’ll have to ask them to send the letter so that you can do a MR. The letter you’ll receive is just a generic one saying your child doesn’t qualify. To do a MR, you need the letter that gives specific breakdowns relating to your claim

I couldn’t agree more I can’t understand why there is no online facility we all hVe individual case numbers that they give us surely it isn’t hard to devise a tracking system maybe we should all take it to dragonsden 😂😂 I really hope you get some answers today I called Monday and wasn’t with a dm so not even wasting an hour of my time today xxx
