@Mumof2boys11 I received 2 texts 3 weeks apart (1/8 and 21/8). Had nothing since. I’m now on week 17 - hoping to hear soon but going to chase up if I hear nothing by week 18.

Mumof2boys11 · 20/09/2023 07:59

How many texts do people usually get and how far apart? My texts have been the 7th Aug the 30th Aug.
My anxiety is high right now awaiting a decision 16 weeks Friday!

I’ve had exactly the same as you I’m 16 weeks bang on today scan 31/05 x

Mumto2littles · 20/09/2023 09:47

I got two texts as well one on 25/7 and the other on 14/8. I was 17 weeks last Friday (scan date 19th May) and called for an update and the lady said it is now taking 18-19 weeks for claims to go to the decision maker. I hope it wont be too long now!

Lovely17 · 20/09/2023 10:04

@Mumto2littles @Mumof2boys11 hi. My scan date is 20/06. I’ve had two letters and 3 text messages now. Hope you hear back soon the wait is horrible. X

SGN04 · 20/09/2023 11:31

@Mumof2boys11 hi ! I received a letter early/mid august saying a decision hasn’t been made yet then a text message September 5th to say still looking at the claim so I can only assume every 2.5/3 weeks for some people ! Hopefully you get a decision soon!! X

Mumto2littles · 20/09/2023 11:40

Hi guys. I just happened to check my bank account and I have received back pay today. I didn't get any text or letter to say I have been awarded. Feeling relieved and over the moon for my little one. She has got what she deserves. Good luck to all of you who are waiting and thank you everyone xx

YellowMellow22 · 20/09/2023 11:42

I’ve been stalking these threads for a while! I have two claims in for my children. Both with 22nd May scan dates. One was awarded hrc yesterday until 2031! My other child’s claim is still with a decision maker. I received two texts over all and my children received two letters each x

Lovely17 · 20/09/2023 16:03

@Mumto2littles woohoo, so happy for you. Bet it’s a huge weight off your shoulders! Really hoping these next few weeks go quickly, it’s been the longest 13 weeks ever x

CoffeeLover90 · 20/09/2023 17:27

@CHDmumma Didn't know if you'd already posted here but being same scan date, thought I'd tag you in so we can keep updated 😁
I decided not to send his SEN plan in the end, keeping it aside in case I need to do MR.
16 weeks today!
Anxiety through the roof.

CHDmumma · 20/09/2023 17:34

@CoffeeLover90 thank you I did try to post on the last one to see how you are doing but wouldn't let me. Good idea I've kept our new information too. My anxiety is raging, I'm praying we hear soon! The wait is killing me not knowing if I have to fight harder for my boy.

Mumof2boys11 · 20/09/2023 17:59

@YellowMellow22 did you have a text to say you were awarded or letter or money in bank first?
Congratulations and fingers crossed for your other child claim! X

I know what you mean. I'm just dreading the fight I'm sure is coming. Fingers crossed they keep to that date they give you.
I'll still ring on week 18, even if its to be told it'll be another few weeks. And I'll update on here - or somewhere 🤣

Its the worst feeling isn't it, I've seen some awful stories recently of loads of refusals and it's truly heartbreaking, I then think that could be us in the same boat too. I will ring 29th if i haven't heard anything (giving 2 extra days 😂) and will let you know x

Thank you, 3/10 I'm ringing. Can't imagine how horrible must be to wait all this time just to get a decline or a result less than child deserves.
I'm imagining, from reading online, DS should get middle but in all honesty, if it's low I'll not fight it. It's just for the doorways of support it opens in our area.

It must be horrendous in all honesty, we think DS should get high after our research and looking at dla decision guide. But if its middle we won't fight. If its low that's a different story. We just keep praying we are put out of our misery soon 🙏

YellowMellow22 · 20/09/2023 20:14

Thank you! I was so impatient I called for an update this morning and was told the decision was made yesterday. I didn’t receive a text and she said payment will be in my bank by Friday. So I suspect the letter will come afterwards. I felt guilty calling but they should update people with current waiting times! Good luck I really hope you’re not waiting much longer x

Mumto2littles · 20/09/2023 21:08

@Lovely17 I can’t tell you how relieved I am, was expecting the worst! I was constantly doubting myself that I haven’t evidenced the claim and haven’t explained child’s needs properly.
I wish you the very best of luck with your claim and keeping my fingers crossed that you don’t have to wait too much longer x

Mom2aboysosa · 20/09/2023 21:12

Hi new to this thread,
First of all hope everyone gets the reward your little one deserves. My son is 4 as severe obstructive sleep apnea since birth,
his had 2 operations which failed to work and multiple sleep studies, his now got to go into hospital for more sleep studies to determine if he as to have a fitted breathing mask.

It's been very stressful because his breathing, snoring and stops of breathing keeps him up most of the night, he screams in fits and as so much night terrors. He as slept in my bed most his life so I no his still breathing it's frightening don't know if anyone as a child going through a similar thing ? It just disorganises his whole night and then day as he constantly wants to sleep and becomes angry and detached from everything.

I applied for DLA scan date 15/6 I was told a few days ago another 6 weeks I'm just on here to wish everyone luck and hope you all get the best outcome, being a mother with a child with health conditions is very difficult and I salute you all x

Lovely17 · 21/09/2023 07:29

@Mumto2littles that’s the way I’ve been feeling.. but I mean I did send a lot of evidence from the school side of things but I have nothing from gp or anything medical related. Thank you so much, hope you can relax now and get on with life for a while before the next time they contact you xx

@Mom2aboysosa sorry to hear about your little one, sounds quite scary! I’m a few days after you so we will hopefully hear back round about the same time. I wish you luck too! It’s the wait that’s the worst, I’m hoping I haven’t waited all these months to be declined, cos that would really pee me off haha xx

Mom2aboysosa · 21/09/2023 09:39

@Lovely17 hey hun , yes it sure is and thank you hope you get a positive outcome 😊

25/05

I still haven't heard anything, I submitted two apps 1 for each boy, 🤞we hear something soon.

Mumofkidsx3 · 21/09/2023 10:23

@Jaymum12 we have the same text message dates 1/8 and 21/8. The wait is driving me crazy now. 17 weeks yesterday and my letters said 15/16 weeks so I think I might try calling today, as in the 18th week now. I’ll let you know what they say if I get through. 🤞

Lau523 · 21/09/2023 13:46

I still haven’t heard anything either ! My letter said up to 15 weeks and now on 17 the waiting is so stressful

5160Michelle · 21/09/2023 14:42

My son's application was scanned on the 01/06, so 16 weeks today. I called on Friday and they advised his application was still in the holding queue, and it is taking 19 weeks for new claims. I was advised to check my bank account on the 09/10 for payment as the payment tends to arrive before the letter confirming the award, and to call back if I hadn't heard from them by the 16/10.

I also recieved a letter (can't remember when - think it was July) and a text on the 07/08 and 30/08, both saying "we are still looking at your DLA child claim". Just in case this helps anyone, or saves them being on hold for an hour!!
