Hi all my scan date was 29/06 letter and messages received of wait up to 15 weeks, message few weeks ago still looking at claim, my boy is 2yr and 7 months, I’m aware that LRM isn’t awarded to under 5s is this the case with everyone or others whom have applied ? Also am I better waiting till 17/18 weeks ? I’m reading the threads of longer waits now even though it’s been forever , I just want understanding of what’s going on?! Anyone on the same page ?!

MumOf2Prince2Princess · 19/09/2023 06:51

@SGN04 i would definitely wait the 17/18 weeks before making any contact regarding your claim. Most letters seems to be saying 15 weeks but most actually seems to be taking 18 weeks on average

Lovely17 · 19/09/2023 07:31

Hi can I join the thread pls? my scan date was 20/06 so 13 weeks today, I’ve had a couple of letters & texts. This wait feels like forever! Anxiety through the roof x

honorwilson · 19/09/2023 10:01

mine was awarded at 18 weeks x

SGN04 · 19/09/2023 10:36

Thank you! I understand there taking on more work than they ever have so it is completely understandable with the delays , I spoke to one of the workers about sending some extra information, does anyone know if it’s quicker sending it to there actual address rather than the free post address ? X

SGN04 · 19/09/2023 10:42

@Lovely17 i completely feel you, my scan date was 29/06 told 15 weeks however when I called few months ago to see if they got it the gentleman actually told me 30th October instead of 12th which 12th would have been 15 weeks so even then I think he knew there was going to be delays realistically.. 12 weeks for me will be Thursday so realistically I’m looking at another 6 weeks instead of 3 which is more than fine it’s just the curiosity of the unknown so far they’ve haven’t asked for additional information which is a good sign I suppose however I only recently revised my sons assessment outcome from the salt team which will be a very beneficial for them to have so I will have to get that sent out as soon as! X

Lovely17 · 19/09/2023 10:52

@SGN04 hi. It’s an awful long time to be waiting! I’m worrying that I will be declined. My daughter is 6, and just started a SEN school in September, I don’t have any doctors involved, mainly the school, educational physiologist, speech & language & still waiting for second appointment from camhs. I just received another text at 10:30 saying a decision has not been made yet… makes me worry so much.
when I had additional information to send I just done the free post address, I’m not sure if there’s another one to send it to but I’m sure someone on here will know! Let’s hope these next few weeks go quickly! X

Keddie · 19/09/2023 10:55

I sent my application back at the end of June, never recd a letter to say had been scanned etc. Had a text message this morning to say they are still looking at my claim. This is the first text I have recd, but i can see most people are receiving 2 about 3 weeks apart? Has anyone else had similar?

SGN04 · 19/09/2023 11:03

@Lovely17 oh wow! Yeah I shouldn’t see why it would be declined I mean she’s getting all the support she should be and it’s known to the different teams she has/presents SEN so as long as you’ve sent off all the information necessary it’s just a waiting game now .. it does take over a big part of your mental state weirdly doesn’t it ? Just the need to know of the outcome! my boys in the long process of getting an EHCP set up along with additional support in nursery’s speech and language therapy , waiting list for a diagnosis and the school told me to apply even though I did in the summer so in my eyes with all that going on I shouldn’t have to worry about not being eligible for it for him but I still do ! So yes reading these threads and seeing people on the same boat takes the edge off I suppose it’s nice to relate ! X

SGN04 · 19/09/2023 11:08

@Keddie hi! So I’m same ish, sent back in June the received on 29 June , I got a letter 3/4 weeks later acknowledging they have received it, following that I received a letter 3 weeks after saying they haven’t made a decision yet even though I know they wouldn’t have but I could only assume it was automated , following that I had a message early September this month saying a decision still hasn’t been made so I’m not sure of how there updating system works , I can only suggest you try call them one morning to ask the date they received it as you didn’t get an update on the date they received it and that you’ve only had 1 message but no clarification? That’s all I can suggest really! X

Keddie · 19/09/2023 11:10

@SGN04 Thanks ! I have tried to call this morning but just get the engaged tone then cuts me off, will keep trying! Have you had a 2nd text from them or just the one? x

@trace34567 thank you ! Does this have to be done at the post office or just written on the envelope? Also does it need a stamp if that’s the case ? X

SGN04 · 19/09/2023 13:23

@Keddie no worries & I’ve had 1 letter of no decision yet and 1 message of no decision yet also ! X

My scan date is 16/06 had a text last week to say they are still looking. On hold to them now as need to check my other sons renewal. My son did receive MRC and LRM but I didn't get the renwal forms so they stopped his claim so having to start all over again 🙄 pure anxiety that they will reject it even tho nothing much has changed in his care needs he has adhd and dyspraxia. Expect more anger (his just turned 12 on Saturday just gone) hoping it won't be much longer 😫

SGN04 · 19/09/2023 13:25

@trace34567 perfect ! Thank you again! Xx

Jenniferquarless · 19/09/2023 13:28

Hi everyone,

I got two text messages today one saying their still looking at my claim then one just now saying I have been excepted for my son. I’m not sure what rate or anything!! My scan date was 20/6 so hopefully it’s not to long for everyone I waited I think 13 weeks I’m not sure. But could I ask once you get excepted how long do you wait for a back payment?

thanks

Keddie · 19/09/2023 14:03

Hi, so pleased to hear people are getting awarded and are getting the support they deserve :)
I completed and sent my forms for my LB 15/5 didn't receive my letter to say they had received it until 10/7, I try ringing spent my lunch break again today - 1hr on hold to chase with no joy, I work full time and cant have my phone in work. I was receiving regular texts have not received one now for the past 3 weeks. How are people getting their 'scan date'? Do you get this from ringing, has anyone else waited this long?
Thanks in advance :)
