Well done @Luevzamum that's amazing. I sent coc for HRM in on 8 June , got a decline so send MR 28 Nov and am still waiting to hear. My daughter has a rare genetic syndrome with clear evidence from a whole host of medical professionals that not only is she severely mentally impaired but also virtually unable to walk without serious pain and we still got declined. I'm not sure what more I can do to try and convince them of something that shouldn't even need to be

Ajmaddyhallie1 · 22/12/2023 14:55

It's a nightmare the wait times are so long

Luevzamum · 22/12/2023 16:41

@ohhollyfred im pretty sure you will get it hun after what you have said. I feel like they wil decline first time just to try and save money and not really do any checks and will only properly look at the case when the parent does a mandatory reconsideration. I’m hopeful for you please let me know how u go on xx

helenjones799 · 02/01/2024 15:12

Help please as phone line is impossible to get through to! Sent my renewal in at end of November, got my usual MRC payment of £272.40 on 29/12 and also another payment of £107.60 on the same date. Any ideas?

Mumof42024 · 03/01/2024 12:08

Hi
just wondering if anyone can help I had a text yesterday to say my child qualifys for DLA and a letter will be sent within 2 weeks. How long after this text should I receive payment? Thanks

Jneill2021 · 03/01/2024 16:34

@Mumof42024 I should imagine Friday x

xxMumofthreexx · 03/01/2024 18:26

Hi has anyone got an idea of how long new claims are roughly taking currently? 🙂

xxAmy · 03/01/2024 19:40

@xxMumofthreexx I think we are looking around 19 weeks according to a Facebook group I am on.
im on week 5, my other child’s claim took 8 weeks 3 years ago and that felt long enough 😭😭

xxMumofthreexx · 03/01/2024 20:29

Oh wow, I'm only on week 4 now 😬 it's the first time I've claimed so was unsure on the time scales. Surprising how long it all takes x

Hi has anyone got an idea of how long new claims are roughly taking currently? 🙂

😣 It seems to be taking anywhere between 18-21 weeks at the moment. I’m on week 19 and it’s still not been sorted.

I claimed for my DS back in 2017 and it took about 6 weeks, then did his renewal at the beginning of 2022 and again it was about 6 weeks. These wait times now are awful.

Seasonofthewitches · 03/01/2024 20:50

Sorry if this has already been asked, I haven’t rtft. For renewals, do you get confirmation that they receive your form? Sent mine a couple of weeks ago but heard nothing yet.

xxMumofthreexx · 03/01/2024 20:54

😳 I won't expect any type of contact for a while then 🤣

I had sent in supporting letters from a couple of people involved with my little one but I've since recieved a safety plan listing concerns and triggers. Would it be worth phoning to add this onto the claim or would it not make a difference?

Mumof42024 · 03/01/2024 21:33

My sons took 19 weeks!

Mumof42024 · 03/01/2024 21:35

Yes I would send in any extra evidence you have I did after a few weeks sent in his SEN plan.

xxMumofthreexx · 03/01/2024 21:56

Thank you, will brave the call tomorrow! 😬 x

mooneigh · 05/01/2024 08:22

I sent in further information and my child's care plan at school from SEND. I then get a letter back from DLA right before Christmas asking what they want me to look at and if it is for a previous claim why did I not send in this in before.

Umm, maybe because they took so damn long to look at my original claim by the time then did it was the summer holidays and so I could not get the physical information/evidence they wanted to back up my claim.

They want my information back by 17th. Which is fine although a little demanding seems they take so bloody long anyway. I am just awaiting for a hospital report to include also.

Just wondering though, will a SEND report - make much difference ?

I understand, it shows the help / support said child needs during the day every day at school. But do they look at it like that?

I felt I have sent in so much information they just seem really awkward where I know others who haven't sent in evidence or as much as me and have qualified it is so annoying and unfair. I know the system is messed up, I'm just feeling a little deflated. Thanks

This is my first time postin my due date is this year for renewal and I only sent the forms off at the start of December how long do you think it will take. I also sent off the ehcp and new notes from school I also sent off he’s adhd diagnosis he’s needs have changed a lot and need much more support and help with he’s needs as they are very complex. Will they look at it quickly as it’s coming to an end and my next payment is due in a week

AnnieSweet · 11/01/2024 10:53

Regarding coc. DLA received my coc forms on the 21st August. I called today and have been told it’s with a decision maker so hopefully not to much longer. Wanted to post for others that are waiting 😊

Mummabear77 · 21/02/2024 01:21

Am submitting my LB mobility application in as he’s turning 5 in April. He already receives MRC. Would this be considered a CoC or a new application sending to Wolverhampton if that helps 🤷‍♀️ Just wondering if it’ll be a 3-4 month wait? Many thanks

GirlMummy93 · 09/06/2024 19:42
