Hi, hoping for some insight!
I applied in may for my daughter, posted the form but missed the deadline by couple of days!
I just had a phone call from the DWP and I thought they were asking for more info as I have not a lot of evidence, my daughter is on pathway for asd and adhd assessment, no echp etc but very high anxiety, meltdowns etc.
the caseworker only wanted to ask me why there was a three day gap between when forms were due and when they arrived and why that was? Nothing else?
my question is… would they bother asking that if they were not awarding? Or is that standard for all applications? Don’t want to get my hopes up!!
thank you

Hi all, just an update, my scan date was 15/5 (17 weeks yesterday) and I called them today and found out that a decision was made yesterday and my son had been awarded.
so it’s just to let anyone know that if they have a scan date in middle of may, you may hear soon.
Hope you all get good news 🙏🏻

honorwilson · 13/09/2023 17:54

just recieved a lump sum from dla, no text message or letter. 18 weeks from scan date, anyone else get payment first?

MumOf2Prince2Princess · 13/09/2023 19:02

Hopefully won’t be long for me then scan date 18/5. Thank you for your update.

Hello, I got a call this morning and awarded middle rate care and lower mobility. Scan date was 17th May. I'm a bit in shock actually as only yesterday ds was put onto the asd diagnostic pathway so it seems to be moving quickly all of a sudden after years of banging my head against a wall.

I have a question, I work 25 hours a week and receive UC top up. I understand I can apply for the disabled child element of UC now, do I also need to apply for carers allowance? I'm not sure I'm entitled if I work (not planning to give that up) and it says it effects other benefits so would it be worth it?

Good luck to everyone on the thread and hope you get the outcome you want 🤞

Beca89 hi COC means change of circumstances

Hope this helps

Yes it does

Mumof2boys11 · 18/09/2023 06:55

15 weeks and 3 days the last few weeks are really dragging. My last text was recieved 30th August and my other text the 7th August.
How long have people waited in-between were still looking at your claim and an award text?
I'm claiming for adhd has anyone else been awarded for this and if yes what evidence did you provide?

MumOf2Prince2Princess · 18/09/2023 07:42

@Mumof2boys11 my scan date was 18/5 I received a text 25th July and 14th august to say they were still looking at my claim. I rang them at 15weeks and they said 17/18 weeks. I haven’t heard anything since but will be 18weeks on Thursday so hopefully we will hear something soon.

Mumof2boys11 · 18/09/2023 07:46

@MumOf2Prince2Princess
Mine was scanned 2nd june, my letter says up to 15 weeks I will give them till 17 /18 then ring I think.
It's been a long wait 🫠

Chels2020 · 18/09/2023 08:05

Scan date 31/05 two texts and two letters 16 weeks this week hopefully not much longer :) I haven’t rang once for new claim as I am just going on this thread

MumOf2Prince2Princess · 18/09/2023 08:37

@Mumof2boys11 my letter said 15 weeks too that was why I rang them to be told a further 2/3 weeks

user45368294 · 18/09/2023 10:22

Hi, my Childs renewal was 20 weeks away last week. I haven't received any letters or renewal forms and I'm currently a hour into being on hold to try and contact them after being cut off twice as well.

Can I just print the forms from the website and send them that way? I was hoping to get the renewal in this week due to the 18 week wait times.

Mumofkidsx3 · 18/09/2023 12:33

Thanks for this was starting to pull my hair out waiting on both my boys decisions. I applied on 25th May so in the 17 th week now and can’t get through on the phone no matter how hard I try. Tried 9am, 11am, and early afternoon but just rings forever or says the lines too busy. The last communication from them was in July, a letter that only says carry on waiting lol 😂. I’m really hoping they name the kids on the decision letters as the boys both have complex needs and ASD so if they don’t I won’t be able to guess who’s is who’s 🤦‍♀️

Mumofkidsx3 · 18/09/2023 12:42

My first text was 1st august and last one was 3 weeks later on 21st august.

126t · 18/09/2023 14:04

Can someone help me I have got to fill in change of circumstances due to my child turning 5 and needs changing do I have to send all the original proof of letters from his doctors or just the new information I have

Lau523 · 18/09/2023 14:13

Please let me know if you get through i lhave the same scan date and the sam text, starting to worry where they still havent made decision

MumOf2Prince2Princess · 18/09/2023 14:18

@Lau523 whats your scan date?

Lau523 · 18/09/2023 14:18

25/05

trace34567 · 18/09/2023 15:36

Just called after waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes told New claims are taking 19 weeks then 2 weeks to go to decision maker so for June 2nd taking me up to 27th October 2023

MumOf2Prince2Princess · 18/09/2023 17:18

@Lau523 my scan date was the 18th May. I’ve received a letter today to say It’s been awarded. The letter was done out on the 13th. So hopefully anyone around the same date should only have about a week to wait. Fingers crossed for anyone waiting on a decision.

Mumof2boys11 · 18/09/2023 18:51

This would be the same for me scan date 2nd june. It seems ridiculous doesn't it!

Lau523 · 18/09/2023 22:49

Hopefully it wont be long just want to know either way now, i feel like i didn't write enough on the forms too 🙈
