Have I been calculating wrong?? My scan date is 6/6 and as far as I can count that would put me on week 13 almost 14. Not long left (hopefully) to hear a decision now! I know with last years application with my daughter we waited 22 weeks then had to ask for mandatory reconsideration for mobility which DM granted LR in a quick 5 minute phone call. Can someone please clarify the disabled child element on UC is this in addition to carers allowance and DLA?? as I have never known until coming across this thread

Mumto2oneofeach · 10/09/2023 13:55

It’s enough to put you off applying for sure the wait times are ridiculous and yet I know a lot of people who have had only 6-8 weeks to wait for the whole process! And had positive outcomes the disheartening process would be waiting all this time for a negative outcome! My son has adhd and autism still awaiting a diagnosis from NHS he’s got speech and language problems which has been the case for the last 4 years! Everything is so slow and the waiting lists are huge! Really hoping we can make progress with a positive outcome from DLA! X

Just off phone to dla, decision couldn't be made, letter sent to school for more evidence this morning, any idea how long that process takes, this is stressful

Louklou88 · 12/09/2023 11:38

My scan date on letter says 19/04 although I never posted until (next day delivery) 29/05 so completely confused about what week I am on. Still over the 15 weeks either way, an heard nothing yet, am sooooo stressed about it.
Can't seem to get through on the phones it just cuts off.
Hopefully not much longer too wait. Fingers crossed for everyone.

Thanks for the thread!

I sent my son’s forms via Freepost in January and it wasn’t received. I had to get forms out and sent to me again so his scan date was in March. I found out in July that he was awarded MRC. He’s only 16 months old so I was very grateful.

Now onto my DD who is 2. I called for forms at the end of July and sent them in August. I sent them via recorded delivery and saw that it was delivered the next day on 11th of August. Haven’t received a letter to say it’s been received so I called them last week Friday. Well surprise, surprise the forms aren’t on the system and can’t be found.

As I have the tracking details, I provided it to the lovely woman on the phone and she said she’ll send an email so that someone can look for it manually. I have to wait 10 days so it means we’ve wasted nearly 6 weeks. IF the forms get found then the wait time will start from then. If they aren’t found then I have to start again. I’m so pissed!

Oh wait I’ve literally just seen that there’s another thread😂 I’ll head over there now!

funinthesun19 · 12/09/2023 13:15

Just rang them today. Got a scan date now! 7th September. So potentially around or after Christmas we will get a decision for my DD’s claim.

Louklou88 · 12/09/2023 13:17

Got through eventually. Scan date was 19/4. They said am looking at end of October/start of November 😱🙁

Mumto2oneofeach · 12/09/2023 13:19

hello!
has anyone else received a text message this morning saying they are still looking at the claim and a decision will be made soon in writing you do not need to contact us?
i am on week 10 now I’ve never heard of it taking this long it’s been with the decision maker since week 4!

Ok I take back what I said about me waiting until Christmas! Could be spring time. 😯

Louklou88 · 12/09/2023 13:22

It's such a long process, feel totally deflated after that phone call. More weeks of worry and sleepless nights over it. Fingers crossed they have caught up and you don't have to wait too long.x

Can I ask when you actually sent the forms off?

Towards the end of August. I think it was about the 22nd.

This is reassuring! I sent it off on the 11th of August and hadn’t heard anything so I may give them a call tomorrow morning. Thank you:)

So frustrating to be told no decision could be made after waiting for so long. And now as you say you have to wait for them to contact school and wait for all that to be sorted.

Hopefully this last bit will be over with quickly as the claim is already with the decision maker and once they get the information they want from school, it will go straight to the top of that decision maker’s list and it will be sorted very quickly.

Probably the end of August - beginning of September they scanned yours.

Oops sorry I mixed you up with another poster. Apologies!

But yes. Having waited since April and still having to wait another 2 months. Really frustrating and nerve wracking.

funinthesun19 · 12/09/2023 14:00

That was to Louklou88 ^. I think I need to step away from mumsnet for the rest of the day now 😂🤦🏼‍♀️. Silly me.

MumOf2Prince2Princess · 13/09/2023 07:24

Hi I’m new to this thread. Has anyone got a scan date of 18/5 and heard anything? I received 2 messages at the beginning of august saying they were still looking at my claim. But haven’t heard anything since. At 17 weeks tomorrow.
