I see thread 12 is full. Is there a Part 13 already, or shall we make this it?

Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻 literally the anxiety has taken over everyday waiting and checking

Just fed up of it all. I'm already an anxious mess as my type one diabetic son went back to school today and his phone isn't sending his blood sugar readings back to my phone so I have no idea if it's working or not. 😭
This DLA being with the decision maker and still no answer is completely sending me off the edge, as we need it so I can get him a better phone that actually works properly. So stressed out with it all.

Chrissyb91 · 05/09/2023 10:10

Ahhh I was going to call them up today but realised I have had a back payment!
So happy hes been awarded and so glad the stress of waiting is over!
I think he's got HRC and LRM by the payment but I will wait for the letter!
Scan date 02/05 so 18 weeks today!

Hopefully you hear soon!! Fingers crossed for you. The wait is awful i was fine until i hit 15 weeks but the last 3 weeks has made me so anxious x

Muminboys · 05/09/2023 10:54

Just got off the phone to them. I have 2 claims pending, scan date 10/05 was allocated to a decision maker yesterday so hopefully not long now. Second claim scan date 15/05 should be allocated in the next week. Good luck to all those waiting this week.

Mumtotwoboys121 · 05/09/2023 11:11

Good luck all! Such an anxious wait x

Pawtucketbrew · 05/09/2023 12:33

Trying to respond to the person on the previous thread who had a scan date in May and was told 29 weeks!!! My post below.

I'm pretty much same as you. First claim. Similar scan date. Got the letter saying they were still reviewing and it was up to 15 week wait. Then today got a text message saying I still needed to wait, to not contact them etc. I assumed they may be looking into it further eg contacting GP but by the sounds of it the wait time has almost doubled then!!!

Incredible.

zoeybrooks45 · 05/09/2023 13:52

I think the estimate for 29 weeks is for families renewing their DLA claim as it is running out.

the 15/18 week mark is for a new claim.

zoeybrooks45 · 05/09/2023 13:53

Congrats must be relief after all the waiting. Can I ask if your child has a diagnosis?

I'm not sure if this was for me but I'll answer anyway 🤣 my son doesn't have a diagnosis yet he's on the pathway for ADHD so don't worry if yours hasn't got one. It goes off care needs doesn't it so I think they look at that more than a diagnosis xx

Ellejkjlljhb · 05/09/2023 15:08

Rang today 13/6 sd and they said another 7-9 weeks I hope they are exaggerating :/

Hamstar · 05/09/2023 15:13

Hi all, been following this thread for a while. Just got a text my son has been awarded. Don’t know what yet but very surprised and very little evidence. Scan date was 10/05 so 16 weeks and 6 days I think! Was told wait time was 13 weeks. Then 15 in letter. Good luck to everyone applying. Now waiting for the payment which will benefit my son so much!

Our scan date is 14/6 hoping for another 5 weeks at the latest 🫣
Will hold out ringing them til start of October I think x

Siennasafiya · 05/09/2023 15:46

@Hamstar congratulations! I'm 15/05 hopefully not long. I called today they said another 3-4 weeks!? 😤🤦🏽‍♀️

Hamstar · 05/09/2023 16:41

Perhaps they overestimate? It’s only 5 days after me!

Siennasafiya · 05/09/2023 16:49

@Hamstar I know! Crazy the way they seem to work?!

Mumtotwoboys121 · 05/09/2023 16:59

Some are with a DM for 2 weeks so maybe they take that into account

Ellejkjlljhb · 05/09/2023 17:12

I hope so but the man on the phone wasn't very possitive about it I do have an appiontment on 3rd which could potentially give more evidence so hopefully it might work out but we will see

Piony · 05/09/2023 17:17

Congratulations @Hamstar! It does sound like they are catching up a bit. Maybe everyone's back in the office after summer.

Just got a text to say my son has been awarded not sure of rates our scan date was 5/5. He doesn’t have a formal diagnosis yet we are on the stupidly long waiting list so I sent the education psychologist report, paediatrician report and a letter stating he had been accepted as a referral. He is waiting for an ADHD assessment. I’m really hoping it’s at least middle rate so I can get him a tutor as he’s so behind in school but it all helps. Good luck everyone.

Mami23 · 05/09/2023 20:03

Well done!!

Ktkat90 · 05/09/2023 21:15

Hi All,
I was a decision maker for PIP once upon a time - unfortunately , the evidence including the form is scanned and not seen until a decision make opens up your particular claim . They are allocated to inboxes of decision makers and it is then up to the decision maker to prioritise the workload by date scanned , some may seek clarification from other colleagues , some work quicker than others and some may not get around to it as quick as you may hope due to reduced working hours/ annual leave etc , hence the 2 week timeframe given over the phone . The decision made really depends upon the persons desk it lands on - some may have insight , some not and as we are all human , interpretation and perspective unfortunately can play a part .
Dla is a little different from PIP so I’m afraid I won’t be a great deal of help but know a little ..

I have two Children on the spectrum - my eldest (11) is diagnosed ASD/PDA/ODD and has thankfully received DLA for a number of years . My youngest is now in the ASD pathway and we have recently applied for him. Scan Date being 30/05 ! It’s a gruelling wait isn’t it !

Mami23 · 05/09/2023 21:18

Just wanted to update, my scan date was 9/5 and I’ve received payment tonight with back pay. I’ve cried and thanked the universe for listening! 17 weeks to the day. Just hold out people and it will come 🙏🏻

Hamstar · 05/09/2023 21:19

Does anyone know how long from the text it is to get the back payment? I’ve heard you get paid Tuesdays. May mean we’ve missed the cut off for this week.

the normally monthly payments are on Tuesdays

we were approved last Tuesday and the back pay was in the bank by Friday morning so back pay isn't limited to standard payment date
