I see thread 12 is full. Is there a Part 13 already, or shall we make this it?

Call DLA when you can and ask for the reasons why she was declined. Ask them to send you a letter of these reasons as you want to do a MR. See the below pics if you want to claim disability and carers element

rhanks For this, I have tried but just comes up with myself and now asked me on my journal about childcare costs? Have I done this wrong? 😭

Do you claim for any children on your UC?

You should go to change of circumstances, caring for someone and follow the steps. You’ll also need to go to change of circumstances, children who live with you and say which child is disabled and follow the steps. Is that not working for you at all?

Muva306 · 25/09/2023 19:24

@Mumof5xo make sure you ask to be sent a break down of why it’s been rejected. Because the letter they send saying you’ve been declined doesn’t really go into much detail, if any

So when I rang today she asked if I wanted a MR sending and that was sent today my other letters were sent out Friday with the decisions etc x

Muva306 · 25/09/2023 19:44

@Mumof5xo mine was declined end of aug and then I called the next day (I had annoyingly called really late in the day, the line was really bad so he said it been rejected and the line went dead) I called the next day as asked for the reasons and she sent out a detailed breakdown. I received both letters the same day about 10
days later and used the detailed breakdown to list the points I disagreed with. The original letter would of been useless 😂😂 I quoted their points and highlighted them and give my explanation for disagreement xx

does anyone know, with renewals.my eldests ends 28th December. I'm hoping to get it sent in by mid October. if they do process it early does the existing award still remain until renewal date.

I'm panicking that if it gets rejected early his existing award will be stopped early

hope that makes sense

Existing award still remains until renewal date don’t worry:) they won’t take the award from you suddenly unless you do a COC and they decide to take the entire award from you. You’ll be fine!

Muva306 · 25/09/2023 22:41

I don’t know yet, I only sent the forms Off last Thursday @Hmcc123

Stressedsoph1 · 25/09/2023 23:04

thank you for that. very reassuring. always so stressful when it comes to dealing with these things

Loup19863 · 26/09/2023 06:28

@Mumof5xo just reading through the messages from yesterday. Do you have the health visitor involved with your 3yr old? If not might be worth getting them involved for when you do the MR, they can do ASQ assessments on him that you can send as evidence and they could also write you a report to confirm his needs, does he have 1-1 in nursery? If not you could also ask the HV to apply for a section 23 which they given you a copy of that could be used as evidence. It might just be the lack of professional evidence why you got declined but I think if you send some HV reports/assessments that will massively help that you’ve got a health care professional backing you x

Mumof2boys11 · 26/09/2023 07:32

17 weeks Friday, has anyone rang for a recent update? I'd like to ring but i work in a school so never get the time 🙈
2nd june is scan date.
I'm on a course Thursday so I will try ring then as it starts at 9.30 am hoping that's enough time to get through

Chels2020 · 26/09/2023 07:36

Fingers crossed today guys I’m 16+6 for new claim and 26+4 weeks for change of circumstances the wait is killing me!

Loup19863 · 26/09/2023 07:38

@Mumof2boys11 I’m 18 weeks today, rang yesterday it’s still in a pile with the DM to be looked at, told to expect end of the week
or early next week 😩 the guy said yesterday to me they’re now looking at 19-20 wks x

Loup19863 · 26/09/2023 07:39

@Mumof2boys11 and it’s been in the decision makers pile for a week today, last Tuesday it went to DM 🤦🏻‍♀️

Mariaj2404 · 26/09/2023 07:48

I'm at 18 week wait today ..I rang yesterday and she said it's in a pile with the DM..its been a week with the DM so far..I totally understand there so many people waiting but it's just horrible the waiting and not knowing.

Loup19863 · 26/09/2023 07:50

@Chels2020 it’s ridiculous now! I’m not going to chase it up again I’m just going to wait and see now, it’s just annoying how they don’t update us but then get annoyed with everyone ringing for updates, the guy I spoke to yesteday was really short with me xx

Loup19863 · 26/09/2023 07:51

@Mariaj2404 we must be in the same pile 😅 exactly the same as me 18wks today and been with DM a week now! It’s very frustrating but I give up calling I’m just going to wait and see now. Good luck x

Loup19863 · 26/09/2023 07:53

ps is there a part 14 to this thread yet? Don’t want to lose where I’m up to and following x

It’s ridiculous maybe we should look into writing or informing them I have to go through the same thing every 3 years just done a coc for my little boy I was told 16 weeks then 24 then 26 then last week it was 28 it’s just not fair on the children who need and deserve extra help! Hang on in there xx

Mumofkidsx3 · 26/09/2023 07:55

@Mumatherwhitsend i am also waiting for uc to backdate now, it took them 10 days to update my rent last month so I’m not holding out much hope of them doing it before 8/10 ( day my payment is calculated each month) 🤦‍♀️ I updated it with the DLA decisions on Friday and yesterday.

Mumofkidsx3 · 26/09/2023 07:58

@MinnieTruck sounds like you did it right, mine also automatically asked about child cost when I did it.😊

Mariaj2404 · 26/09/2023 08:02

@Loup19863 I know last Tuesday it went to a decision maker ..i put so much evidence in ..I just suppose we have to wait ..I'm not going to call again it gives me anxiety ..I'm just going to try and relax and wait.

Mumofkidsx3 · 26/09/2023 08:03

@Chels2020 if you want to you can stop getting carer allowance(as it just gets deducted) and claim carers element from uc, which doesn’t get deducted
