Wow how many weeks is that x

was 17 weeks on Tuesday. our eldest gets HRC and LRM which I need to apply for renewal shortly youngest if anything and who this is for needs it more and I'm terrified he won't get it

Sarahmarshallx · 31/08/2023 11:34

Hey guys been following the thread for a while. Just give you the heads up my scan date was the 3/5 I called up on Tuesday if you call and keep getting cut off the lines are really busy and I left it a couple of hours before re trying. I got through to a rude woman who said it hasn't been 18weeks even though our letters say 15weeks and there's no update she could give me. Today the discion maker called me to ask 2 questions about my sons claim after I came off the phone about 10mins later I received a txt to say that my son has qualified and I should recieve a letter within 2weeks explaining everything.

I know it’s so not fair the long wait. It’s my first child I have applied for she is 7 we are going through a asd appointment and they told me about Dla I just hope I’ve done enough cause all the missing school coming home from work early it would really help. Xx fingers crossed for you xx

I'm about to apply for my youngest next, undiagnosed autism. He's a danger to himself. No fear, no direction. Vocab is very limited. Anger is on another level. Hiya his head on walls. How he has any teeth the amount of times he's slipped up is beyond me. He gets SEN at preschool. On the wait list for cahms. I should of sent them off both together but I thought nope one application a time

Toddlermummy19 · 31/08/2023 11:40

I'm the 9th of May as well. I called on the 15 week mark and was told its 17 weeks now which will be next week but now u see some people saying its 18 weeks. Its frustrating there seems to be no structure to ant of it some people get texts to say the outcome and others here nothing! Has your child got a diagnosis? My daughter is 9 with asd but now I'm wondering if I sent off enough evidence! I sent her full autism report along with some school information as her EHCP was declined.

don't blame you couldn't deal with more than one at a time. they both have anger issues from past abuse by their uncle. we are basically in hiding having been moved by police and social services. and joy of joys eldest has just punched youngest in the stomach this is stressful

It’s frustrating isn’t it. My son is 6 undiagnosed but been on pathways since he was 3. He suffers severe anxiety and mental health from abuse from his dad. Because he masks his conditions and only I see it it’s hard to get heard and the school won’t help because he’s not displaying any signs there. Because if the abuse we are through court process at the minute and the caffcass coordinator witnessed his behaviour and otherwise area and written a letter to identify this and our health visitor from when he was a baby witnessed things which she written a letter as well. I just hope it was enough. I’ve had to quit my job because it got too hard to look after him on my own, work and do uni.
hope you get it, I hope we all do no one understands how hard it is unless your going through it yourself and our kids deserve it if it’s going to help them even just a little!

Just got off the phone after over an hour 😫 the man was lovely to be honest and said my claim is still in holding looking at the middle of September to be handed to a caseworker then wait for it to be passed to a decision maker then a further 5-9 days for a decision 😫 he has put a note on my claim saying when they make the decision to send a text so fingers crossed they do 🤞

Hmcc123 · 31/08/2023 11:57

Hi all,
I bit the bullet and called today. So lucky I did.
Scan date 25/04
My son has been awards HRC sand LRM!
I cried when I man told me on the phone, I feel so lifted and weight lifted off my shoulder!
To those who are waiting good luck! And try and hang in there!

trace34567 · 31/08/2023 13:35

Mumtotwoboys121 · 31/08/2023 10:32

I don’t think you do if you have just applied for the EHCP. I think if it’s granted most people save it for a renewal/more evidence if declined DLA x

Mumtotwoboys121 thank you for this information

Rosanna23 · 31/08/2023 13:44

I’ve been a long time lurker but thought I’d write this for others around my date. My scan date was 28/4 and I’ve just received a text to say my child qualifies and I will receive a letter within 2 weeks detailing everything. So hang in there guys, should be any day!

Does anyone know how long it takes for the money to go in the bank?

Mumtotwoboys121 · 31/08/2023 13:48

Anyone here had a claim approved from 4th/5th May? Seems like they’ve taken all week to do the 2nd and 3rd 😆

INWright · 31/08/2023 14:07

It really has been the longest wait and I'm so glad it's over his been awarded for 5 years no diagnosis yet and EHCP not in place either, anyone worrying about evidence please don't worry it's not about the evidence it's about the care needs at home!
I was worrying as I thought I didn't send much in but the man on the phone was lovely and explained even if things aren't in place we go by how children care needs are at home not by diagnosis!
Hope this puts some people's minds at ease

INWright · 31/08/2023 14:09

Also can anyone help please
I get UC with housing benefit as I'm a single mum to 4 and I work 21 hours get £1005 month, what do I need to say to UC about DLA? Will they back pay anything what do I need to apply for care allowance? I'll be appreciated if someone can help thanks
