Mine is 14/06 so be waiting with you!

my scan date was the 2/6 just had text saying still working on form no need to contact them its so frustrating

Piony · 30/08/2023 12:10

Congrats to people awarded from 2nd & 3rdMay.

@INWright nooo I was hoping you've get some news today

@Chels2020 & @Lt88 it's a long old wait from March for change of circumstance. Seems ludicrous - your circumstances can change again within 6 months! I hope you hear soon.

Chels2020 · 30/08/2023 12:13

It’s an absolute nightmare and then if they are declined it’s waiting again I only applied for mobility as my son has zero and a wheelchair user i made it clear care needs are the same but apparently they review the whole claim again it’s just stress that could be avoided if you ask me but fingers crossed we all hear soon x

Beca89 · 30/08/2023 12:15

I rang yesterday scan date 26/6. Was told it was in a queue to go to a decision maker. But just this moment recieved a text saying they are still looking and will write to me with a decision, I don't need to contact them again. I think maybe because I was bombarding the lady on the phone with questions yesterday they felt the need to text and say don't contact us again 🤣🤣 my lad has diagnosed epilepsy, learning difficulties, global development delay, hydrocephalus and is awaiting adhd testing. I just feel I'm going to be rejected. Xx

I decided to call and it's still with a DM! 🫣 suppose I'll wait until next week now and then try again! 🤣

zoeybrooks45 · 30/08/2023 12:23

try to be positive, you are not far from my scan date, by the sounds of this thread we are waiting for an award closer to end of September. Waiting is very unbearable at times, I’ve kept myself busy but now finding this final stretch quite nerve racking.

Yeah we just have to keep going I think the school
holidays have kept me busy but now people with scan dates a few weeks before us are getting decisions the nerves are kicking it x

I ve never rang them and they ve sent me that text 3 times, I think they just randomly send it every so often to try and put people off calling.

Chels2020 · 30/08/2023 12:30

You would think with technology now adays an online tracking would be available from the references we are given would certainly free up the phone lines and then handlers have a better chance of processing the claims! I think once this ordeal is over I will be writing a letter to advise of this cos surely they can understand these wait times are not on

Rebbit2013 · 30/08/2023 12:33

So I caved in and phoned- despite sending my forms off signed delivery on the 05/05 they didn’t receive until the 18/05, bloke was lovely but said I’m not looking at it even going to a DM until 28/09, I know they’re backlogged but it’s so frustrating 😭😭

Thank you Piony

I have just got off the phone to them. A lovely lady as opposed to last time.

Apparently, a decision has been made, but she cant tell me what as the outcome isnt showing up.

Now I'm sat wondering is this positive news?

That’s so annoying!! 28th is such a long way off I hope it’s sooner for you x

Scan date 25 may, rang up today and still 18 weeks. She was outright rude. Many times I’ve called and they’ve never been rude before. Said “you got the reference number or what?” Then asked if my child was male or female.. said I couldn’t do anything without a reference but I said my house is packed up as I’m moving soon and I usually do her dob and security stuff, she didn’t care. Said I need to unpack my house to get the reference next time. She said end of September now as they’re doing renewals first…

I've only called once and the person I spoke to had a dual attitude she started of pretty rude and then was pretty helpful, but as I said to her on the phone, if they keep moving goalposts people are going to continue calling, if the letter says UP TO 15 WEEKS, and it's exceeded why wouldn't we call, I'm not sure what jobs the call handlers are supposed to be doing but clearly handling calls is the least important to them.

They clearly use some form of computer system, just need to invest and make it online and customer facing!

I sent mine off the same date and have the same scan date.
I dont understand how they can be up to 2/3rd may and awarding people but say it ll be over a month to get to the 18th of may.

What makes it feel worse, is that I didn't get a back dated form posted out to me because I can't handwrite forms and have to type, might give it a couple of weeks and call to complain.

Oh it’s soooo frustrating! I don’t understand how it’s 18/05 when I posted on the 5th he was like ‘ it is what it is’ again completely appreciate they’re working hard and must be equally frustrated but they just keep changing time frames, and I think it’s the fear of my son doesn’t get awarded, all this stress and wait was for nothing…. 😞😞😞

Mommyof42023 · 30/08/2023 13:43

Just wondering if anyone could help me, as son was awarded Hrc and I put in for carets allowance I’ve just checked my bank and they must have backdated me what happens now with my uc as I was on the understanding I would revive carets but it would be deducted from my uc

treeoakkez · 30/08/2023 13:53

I'm looking into carers but I don't know where to even start. I get UC so do I claim as carers element or do it separately through carers allowance 🤷‍♀️

Exactly, if they d have said a few weeks ago that they ve had to change the timeframes and put the correct one on any letters then they wouldn't be getting anyone calling them.
My DS doesn't have a diagnosis yet, suspected he has ASD so all I could send them is referral paperwork and a report from a private speech therapist when I did the form, I ve got more evidence now but had held off sending it as I thought it wasn't that far off an answer if he was eligible anyway.

Wigswaddis · 30/08/2023 14:05

The information will pull over on the central information system and it will generate an overpayment. You won’t be expected to pay it all back at once though.

Mommyof42023 · 30/08/2023 14:07

I claimed carets separately then notified them of a change for the disability element, I declared the change for him specifically on the tan for people who live with you.

Wigswaddis · 30/08/2023 14:08

if your on UC, report your caring activity as you can get that anyway. If you’re working you may not be able to get carers allowance depending on earnings, if you do apply, it will be deducted pound for pound from you UC, the benefit of being on carers allowance is that you get a better class of national insurance stamp. You will have to apply separately for carers allowance.

Ok thanks so much. So you claim carers but it gets deducted anyway?? Gosh this is super confusing isn't it. Lol x

Wigswaddis · 30/08/2023 14:22

It is quite confusing. You’ll get the carers element of UC which is £185.86 regardless.
