Scan 3/5 I rang last week and they told me it’d be with a decision maker by Wednesday this week

StephJB1 · 28/08/2023 17:42

Hiya,
My scan date is 22/05/2023.

My daughter has been diagnosed through the paediatrician with autism. She is only 3 and does not have much speech. Still in nappies, many sleepless nights, does not like overcrowded places, has no sense of danger… the list goes on… When I completed the forms the only evidence I had was her developmental report which states autism however needs to wait for SEN assessment (which could take one year) I also sent a her speech and language therapy sessions and a letter from her nursery about her development.

Today is week 14 and I have not heard anything besides the occasional text stating “when a decision is made they will contact me” .

I have not called to check however am planning to do so this week. I am just extremely anxious as I’m unsure if enough evidence has been sent plus I’m starting to doubt myself on if I explained everything in the forms.

Since the forms have been sent off, nothing has changed however we now have a health visitor who will be supporting us too.

Anyone in a similar position and have already got an update???

Wishing you all the best of luck xxx

Stressedsoph1 · 28/08/2023 17:56

no update as such but our scan date is 2/5. last week there were posts on here that scan dates around 25/4 were being worked on so by that I would say you are 2 to 3 weeks away from the top of the pile

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 28/08/2023 22:33

Hi everyone was on the old thread... my scan date for my 2nd daughters claim is 26th June so by reading this thread I'll be waiting till next year for a answer 🤣 don't know why they love to stress out people and cause so much anxiety for parents! The process should be made quicker for sure. Hope everyone waiting hears soon!!! 💗

I tried to call at 9 but it went through all the options and then hung up twice. I know patience is a virtue, it’s just not one I possess haha. Let us know what they say if anyone does manage to get through.

Mumzy515 · 29/08/2023 09:17

Scan date for son was 26/4 and was awarded last week, scan date for daughter was 27/4 and it's been with a decision maker for a week now just called and it's still with decision maker should hear in next few days

Snoweymum · 29/08/2023 09:28

The waiting is horrendous, I was fine upto 15 weeks because that's what the original letter said now I'm full of anxiety at 17 weeks. I'm hoping they have started May, if anyone is the 2nd can you let us know if your claim has been done thanks

Wigswaddis · 29/08/2023 09:32

I’m 2nd of May, really hoping it’s this week the wait is horrendous. I’m just on hold to them now to see if there’s any update.

Same with me. I think there's that many people trying to call today it's hard to get through. Must be because of bank holiday.

Snoweymum · 29/08/2023 09:48

Let us know how you get on.

Wigswaddis · 29/08/2023 10:17

So I finally got through, it went to the DM on Friday so he says I should hear something this week!

INWright · 29/08/2023 11:02

Can anyone help me answer this question please.
I get a little bit of UC but I do work also part time and get money from my job. If DLA was to accept my sons claim and I tell UC will that affect the payments I get with them?
