I was told 26 weeks too so as his renewal is due in October and the paperwork is already in for that I was told not to bother with a coc.

StephJB1 · 26/08/2023 17:15

Hiya,

Just read your post and our situation are very similar however my daughter is 3.

My scan date is 22/05 and I am still awaiting.

Do you have any further updates? x

Chels2020 · 26/08/2023 17:51

I rang them about 3 weeks ago and was basically told to wait until the 26 weeks has been up mine is a change of circumstances I’ve applied for mobility my 3 year old son is in a wheelchair has zero mobility he has no legs x

Ah1993 · 26/08/2023 18:28

Ahhh fingers crossed it’s all sorted for you soon xx

Mumtotwoboys121 · 26/08/2023 20:49

I don’t understand how they work through the claims, I’ve just seen on the Facebook page a new claim scanned in June has been approved already. Really baffles me!

I was thinking the same thing I have seen new claims from from mid May being awarded already I'm 19th May and they told me another 4 weeks when I rang last week to add to more evidence 🤷‍♀️

I’m mid June so really hoping that it’s soon but feel like it’s unfair for the people that haven’t been approved yet x

Cloggs76 · 26/08/2023 23:36

I put in coc rang to make sure it was received and was told 26 weeks wait, then a few days later received a letter saying 11 weeks wait 🤷‍♀️

Was this for a COC,if so how long have you got left to wait,I’ve been told last week in November x

I had the same letter so I rang up and the women was very snotty and sounded like she was trying to make out that I was lying about receiving a letter saying it was a 11 week wait x

Chels2020 · 27/08/2023 08:40

Yeah it’s a change of circumstances for my 3 year old we’ve applied for mobility he has zero mobility the scan date was 24th march I’m now on 22 weeks so another 4 if there still saying 26 weeks

its absolutely disgraceful the wait times for these poor children who are entitled to it x

Chels2020 · 27/08/2023 08:41

Yeah I can imagine this as I got a response of basically don’t ring untill your 26 weeks wait has been passed it’s an awful wait for what our children are entitled to x

Mommyof42023 · 27/08/2023 09:54

Morning,
we recently was awarded hrc the lady on the phone told me to contact uc and notify them as my child was eligible for the child elliment I have done this but does anyone know the process off it all?

Wigswaddis · 27/08/2023 10:41

The will need to verify the child, then will send it do a decision maker regarding the backpay for a later reporting of a change, but it will be accepted as it was reported late because of the time taken to report it. I work on universal credit. Keep massaging relatively frequently though because sometimes decision is made and the underpayment sits waiting to be picked up and our case loads a mega high so just keep promoting it.

Zoexxxx · 27/08/2023 10:42

Hello scan date buddy. I hope this isn't the case as already feels like we've been waiting forever. I have received 2 texts saying they are still looking at it but that's it. 26 weeks is a long wait. Seems waiting times are getting worse and not improving

unicornwonders · 27/08/2023 10:46

@Wigswaddis someone at the job centre told me that because it was causing me to be anxious (suffer with sever anxiety) he was going to message the decision maker to speed it up but this seems a bit odd to me, can they actually do this?

Mommyof42023 · 27/08/2023 11:12

Thank you for your reply :)
move done a change of circumstances on my journal and wrote on my journal to confirming it also, I can imagine how big the case loads are! They are under extreme pressure at the minute everywhere I think. Thank you for your help

Chels2020 · 27/08/2023 11:52

It’s a nightmare I’ve had two texts saying there still looking at it and not to call I am not in a rush for it but just very frustrating to have to wait so long my little boy and everyone else who is waiting so long when I first applied for dla 3 years ago the wait was just over 8 weeks and now we are waiting what looks to be 17 weeks new claims 26 weeks for change of circumstances and no idea for renewals it’s draining I’m glad I’ve got this group for support :) x
