Good luck hun and keep us updated. We haven't heard back yet 25/04.
Is with a DM I'm going to hold on until Friday and see what the outcome is!

Ray1996 · 21/08/2023 15:15

My date is also the 25/04. I've had texts saying they are looking into claim but nothing else. I don't have much evidence just how it's affecting her and how I've needed to change jobs due to her anxiety. She is now seeing camhs weekly.
I'm hoping they contact doctor and camhs to clarify their involvement.

We didn't send much off tbh, sent off statement from SENCO and the things going into place, statement from family member, NHS letter for hearing assessments and also a teacher physiology report that has been submitted.
All the best and keep fighting for what you believe in if they don't accept it!
They don't know our children or situation, but all the best.
My child has ADHD/ASD Asperger's ( waiting diagnosis) hearing defect and speech delays along with sensory overload, so I'm sceptical about being awarded but hopefully he will Be!

StanleyParents · 21/08/2023 15:59

Hi all, scan date was the 5/5 letter said up to 15 weeks but still heard nothing, nervous as I know we didn't send it much additional information with the claim, he is 6 and has a diagnosis of ASD as well as Global Development Delay, currently awaiting results form a full genome sequencing alsonl. He is mostly non verbal except for a few words/phrases such as cookie, milk, bed.

He attends a resource base attached to a main stream school and has an EHCP which was recently sent for renewal.

My main query is how much digging do they do with these claims? Will they have contacted our peadiatrician/occupational therapist/gp etc. Or will they only consider what is sent in the application?

Based on the conversations I've had with others in a similar situation I am hopeful we will get hrc and hm for him bur nervous that I haven't sent enough in!

Any advice is appreciated!

Scan date 3/5 ringing them to see if they know anything or can tell me anything

SpaceRaiders · 21/08/2023 16:40

@GG89 Thank you. You get so used to fighting for every little thing, I really hoped this would be straightforward. From sending off the MR roughly how long did it take to get awarded?

Were also going private for both Autism and ADHD. Was that £1800 for ADHD or Autism? I’m always surprised how wildly the price fluctuates depending on where you are in the country?

Snoweymum · 21/08/2023 17:10

I rang dla last week after the 15 week mark, wish I hadn't bothered, they said it could be another 4 weeks! I had my sons forms last year but didn't complete them so I only have my self to blame. I hope I hear soon because the wait is a joke.

what did they say x

TiredOfCleaning · 21/08/2023 17:27

I am running to the post box every day.

We got our ASD diagnosis privately. It cost £500 when DS was aged 4, so in 2014. Then another £500 a year later as a follow up assessment.

Then last year we got his adhd assessment and that cost around £800 plus VAT.

We then had two private cognitive assessments at circa £1000 each. The first one we were not happy with the outcome (and a bit in denial) and so got a second one which said the same thing down to the exact same IQ points.

We are going NHS for all the other stuff- his dyspraxia, his tourettes, his sensory processing disorder and global development delay. All of those have been on the waiting list for 3-4 years.

It's quite tiring.

My scan date is also 3/5 would you be able to let me know what they say it’s been 16 weeks now but seems to be going no where 😣

Ah1993 · 21/08/2023 17:31

@Hmcc123 been waiting an hour and half no answer might try again tomorrow can’t see them answering now x

Ah1993 · 21/08/2023 17:31

Will do x

TiredOfCleaning · 21/08/2023 17:36

when i say the NHS waiting lost is 3-4 years- not to be seen. he's been seen within 12 months roughly but we are being fobbed off and told that they will have another look in 12 months - 12 months- 12 months. So no strong diagnoses for anything that is so fucking obvious (tics for 4 years.... unable to walk a straight line or catch a ball - etc etc etc).

I get the feeling that because he is under a private pscyh for the adhd etc that the NHS paediatricians are not that interested for the other stuff.

Hi guys we have a scan date of 11th May. I called last week and have now been told its a 17 week wait although this seems to be getting longer and longer! Sent in my daughters full ASD report and reports from school so fingers crossed!

Emma1620 · 21/08/2023 20:50

Has anyone done an MR for deafness? Declined last week, son has exact same diagnosis and he was awarded but daughter wasn't

MamiD · 21/08/2023 21:16

Did you hear back?
Mine was scanned 09/05 and I’m still waiting to hear. Had a letter and texts but nothing confirmed 😒

Hey. Does he have substantial night needs? Like doesnt sleep? On sleeping meds etc? That is the only way you can get hrc.
however not many people are successful with hrm as it’s extremely hard to be awarded this, ive seen cases of children being in wheelchairs and not even being eligible. However it does sound like you have enough reason/evidence to get an award x
