I have one dla claim for my autistic son but this claim is for my daughter. I just sent the forms the school filled out before her assessment and then i sent the letter from the doctor once diagnosed (we went private) xxx

We are currently waiting for diagnosis but sent all evidence I can provide for now. How did you go about going private? It's something I was wanting to do because the waiting list can take ages

Mumofasdadhd · 21/08/2023 11:00

my daughter has adhd. Im in hertfordshire. Was recommended to me. Paid £300 for initial assessment, then a QB test was needed which was £145
then a follow up £300 where the disgnosis was made. All payments were split up so i didnt notice it much but all was complete in under 5months xxx
her school wouldnt support her much without an actual diagnosis

treeoakkez · 21/08/2023 11:16

I can't even get through to them, just keeps giving an engaged tone when I've gone through all the options

Shellbel10 · 21/08/2023 09:34

Brilliant when was your scan date @Pengu1nGal

I'm not sure! I sent it in mid April and it was for a renewal due to end on the 4/09 x

Weenie1993 · 21/08/2023 11:40

Hi evreyone I was awarded on 8/8 and noticed uc straight away they verified the change on 9/8 I've not heard anything since about the backpay? How long did evreyone else whos been awarded wait ?

SpaceRaiders · 21/08/2023 12:50

We didn’t get ours after all! I’m so disappointed. I scanned through that text that said a decision had been made, thinking we’ve been awarded only to call up this morning to be told we’d been declined. That’ll teach me to read my messages properly!

Anyway now waiting for the letter to go to mandatory reconsideration. Only issue is we have no further evidence and won’t until late October. Is anyone here with an Autism/ADHD Dc, waiting for an assessment? What additional evidence did you send? I’m tempted to ask the psych team to write an interim report on their findings.

unicornwonders · 21/08/2023 13:13

@SpaceRaiders i didn’t send much info or evidence just a letter of springboard with a ongoing plan for diagnosis and her needs etc and i filled in the form and we have hrc

treeoakkez · 21/08/2023 13:15

I've just got through, we aren't even with a decision maker yet 😭 been over 17 weeks now

can I ask you who you went through because I'm going to go ahead with this option I think x

Hi, just got off phone. Scan date 26/4 and I was told its been sent to a case handler today. Is there a difference between case handler and decision maker?
Also my son got a diagnosis yesterday of asd and sensory processing disorder which I reported to them, she said the case handler will see this as she put a note on file, just hoping it won't delay a discision if they want the evidence?

Shellbel10 · 21/08/2023 13:53

@treeoakkez I can’t believe this

It's a joke isn't it

ET2002 · 21/08/2023 14:06

The women said the claims are handled in strict date/ scan order, from looking at this thread it seems to be different to what she is saying, mines a new claim.

Shellbel10 · 21/08/2023 14:07

I don’t understand how some with later scan date has gone to a decision maker before people with earlier scan date

🤷‍♀️ I am lost for words. I can't even bring myself to complain just in case I jinx it

SpaceRaiders · 21/08/2023 14:13

@unicornwonders I’ve just googled Springboard are they the team who’ll diagnose? See, I read the DLA forms and was under the impression that appointment letters and the like would hold no weight. We don’t see the Gp, Dd has no additional health needs, she’s not on medication, it’s all behavioural and sensory. Now I’m thinking the fact that we haven’t been going to the Gp every other week for her behaviour and anxiety has gone against us.

unicornwonders · 21/08/2023 14:15

@SpaceRaiders yeah they alongside senco will diagnose, we don’t go to the gp unless she’s i’ll, my dd is also sensory and behaviour and social all i sent is one letter from springboard and we was awarded. i think it’s just to prove you are seeing the professionals etc to be honest

SpaceRaiders · 21/08/2023 14:20

Thank you @unicornwonders in that case I’ll email the team due to diagnose Dd for a letter outlining their plan. It can’t hurt, hopefully that should be adequate for the MR!

Do not give up,
100% get in the mindset of your gonna win this and do an mr. I was also declined back on july 19th since waiting from march, it was such a shock and a knock back but the next day i got my fighting shoes on, gathered any little bit of extra evidence i could. Sent off my mr and on saturday my decline was overturned and we have been awarded hrc lrm for 5 years. Good luck x

Hey hun. I also went private.
best decision i have ever made. In our local area the wait to be assessed is currently around 2 years.
i took my son to harley street london, all in was around £1800 but from 1st appointment, assessments and having a diagnosis was 27 days!!!!!! X

INWright · 21/08/2023 14:38

Oh wow that is soo good yes I'm definitely going to get this booked because it's taking way to long and I just want my son to get all the help he can while his still young and not struggling in his adult life! Thank you so much for the information I appreciate it!Xx

Hmcc123 · 21/08/2023 14:52
