@GG89 great news most MR are being overturned by the looks of things well done for sticking to ur guns what a poor excuse due to no EHCP being in place my children dont have these they have IEP’s and risk assessments for themselves and one with a risk assessment for others in place too I’ve sent no paperwork as it’s a ballache printing all these off in the timeframe of mentally processing the awful stuff u have to write about ur child’s behaviour and send it off in time they’ve been told to contact relevant people for this information or it will be sent with the MR if needed I complained on every ounce of the paperwork being mentally draining and having a negative impact on caregivers mental health having to be so blunt about behaviours it’d be better if they could ask a simple ABC on the child and what helps behaviours or their needs in a statement not 70 odd silly questions some irrelevant to personal circumstances as it’s really our hard work being put in that helps our children the money obviously covers their extra needs equipment damages caused from meltdowns etc and helps pay for the fact most of us are unable to work and provide that security as it’s a 24/7 job on its own and tbh it still doesn’t cover half of what they need

Thank you hun. Was a stressful 20+ weeks just glad its over now. My son also has an iep in place, under mental health team (cahms) in school also and outside of school.
So was really shocked when dm refused on the no ehcp. I just argued the point that there is no criteria which states a child must be in receipt of a ehcp to be eligible for dla.
good luck with it all hun, i come here just to say dont give up even when you feel like doing ao. Keep going xx

Shellbel10 · 20/08/2023 10:34

My son has iep and been referred by school on the asd pathway also got occupational therapy report and sleep med prescription just hoping this is enough evidence

DVG25 · 20/08/2023 13:11

Does anyone claim DLA for more than one child? I have a current claim for my son and I’m waiting to hear about my daughter. (Both have ASD. Son also has GDD but daughter also has suspected ADHD). Anyway my scan date is 26/4 so I’m hoping I should hear soon. But my question is, I get my sons DLA on 29/8 so do you think it’s likely if they do award it for my daughter, they’ll pay me then? Does it always get paid together when you have multiple claims?

Oh wow well done.

And you got a text on a Sunday?! Gives me hope.
Can I ask what needs your child is? I'm just worrying my son isn't going to qualify the wait and nerves is driving me mad
But so happy for you!

emma9112 · 20/08/2023 15:52

Hi all, finally received my sons renewal decision by post yesterday. Scanned on May 9th and current one was due to end August 26th. Got high rate the same as my sons current one. They told me when I called on the phone about 3 weeks ago that it would be looked at near the time of his current one running out and they were exactly right. 🙂 Just thought I would update you all for anyone who is waiting for a renewal decision 🙂

Hey hun.
fingers crossed for you.
My son is diagnosed asd. So i had originally sent diagnosis report which was very lengthy and detailed, iep from school and mental health team details etc for school (cahms).
And was also noted that he was on sleep meds.
we was declined. I sent alot more evidence with the mr including sleep clinic evidence as his a very poor sleeper. Cahms evidence from outside of school. And literally every little detail that is set in place in school and i had evidence to back every little point. X

Not sure about refused as you will only know once you receive the letter if you dont call for an update. However my mr was scanned on the 1st august and was awarded yesterday the 19th so 18 days. They are currently estimating 2-3 weeks x

Mommyof42023 · 20/08/2023 16:49

So nervous now it's so close. I can see your name has ADHD/ASD in, can I ask if you sent any evidence back for diagnosis?
