Feeling so anxious I didn't really fill enythin in...the school did it all the part I'm supposed to fill in about what my sons like I only written a little bit school SENCO added a letter to say he has 1to1 and counseling SPEECH and LANGUAGE said he has a LANGUAGE DISORDER that affects other areas aswell I had half a page of EDUCATIONAL PHYSIOLOGIST that just explained he displays SEMH needs and a report to say he's below average in processing information but at hight for speed and writing and below average for something else I just have the worst gut feeling were Gona be refused I have about a week left for a decision

i thought i'd get refused too as i didn't use any additional sheets of paper, didn't fill in the someone who may know them etc and not much evidence! and my boy was 8 months when we filled the forms and babies are hard to get dla for but we were awarded middle rate.

Has anyone called DLA this morning and know what time frame they are giving this week for decisions on new claims last week it was 14 weeks

J8231 · 09/05/2023 10:27

I have just seen on another chat someone called this morning with a similar scan date to us. They told them to call back in 2 weeks, just a waiting game isn't it

Daisymum18 · 09/05/2023 10:55

It is but I still feel they should stick to the time scale they give on the letter they send I know people say it's generic and hasn't been changed but they manage to change the time scale they tell people every week Ive come to realise if you don't have a decision one week they always seem to add another week on we are at 13 weeks as of yesterday I bet If I called I'd get told no decision still in que should be with a DM next 15 weeks for a decision

Unknown123qw · 09/05/2023 11:20

I rang this morning dead on 9 and he gent said it's taking 14 weeks but last Tuesday when I rang they said 17 weeks

Daisymum18 · 09/05/2023 11:38

I rang last Wednesday and was told DMS put an email out that week saying 14 week wait time it's crazy how they can just tell you any old crap but not bad if they still saying 14 weeks fingers crossed for some news end of this week beginning of next but not holding out much hope whens your scan date x

Daisymum18 · 09/05/2023 14:17

J8231 · 09/05/2023 14:33

That's amazing congratulations, bet your relieved now.
I havant called what do you say to them, I feel like a pain ringing them I have only rang twice 1st time to see if they actually got the form and 2nd to see if they got the extra evidence, I really hope we get ours soon now with being the same scan date

Daisymum18 · 09/05/2023 14:49

All I said was just calling to see if there's an update on my daughter's claim give them they info they ask for and they can tell you if it's still in que with a DM or if a decision has been made or not it's worth calling if you haven't called in the last week or so definitely a huge relief she got what she deserves

barelyfunctional · 09/05/2023 15:35

My partner phoned to chase up one of ours today as only received confirmation that one arrived. He was told 13 week wait and that our form arrived to them on 24th March but was only scanned in today! Hoping it’s still backdated to when we phoned since it technically got there in time…

Daisymum18 · 09/05/2023 16:03

I would think yours won't be that long away now, when I called last week was told middle of May so that would of been 15 weeks in total so has been worked sooner than expected really, will keep my fingers crossed for you

Can I join this thread? I’m waiting for a decision- scan date 1 March. I’m also hoping they look kindly at the scan date- I had to return the forms by 29 Feb to keep my claim date. I did post in what should have been enough time, but postal delays meant it arrived on 2 March. I’ve been told that it will be down to the decision maker to decide what date to go on.

The same has happened to me. I posted in enough time but my scan date is the day after the date on the form. Needed to be there by 21st and scan date is 22nd. Wish I sent recorded delivery!
