Hi, can i join in the waiting, I have 2 claims, the scan dates 6th and 10th feb, Is anyone waiting around these scan dates? Does anyone know the wait times? Driving me mad waiting now
Thanks

Around 13 weeks at the moment so it should be with a dm next week. Obviously taking into account the bank holidays, I would contact them on 15th May and they may have an update for you.

J8231 · 02/05/2023 11:42

Thank you, not too much longer then.

Learningtoacceptmyself · 02/05/2023 12:57

Scan date 27/1 got mine today.

Adhdmummytoyearold · 02/05/2023 14:25

Your looking at around may or june time. Its 13-15 weeks now

Mummy142 · 02/05/2023 15:56

Just had a text to say my child qualifies! I'm thrilled. Scan date 1st Feb. Had no additional evidence to send, no diagnosis as yet, really wasn't hopeful.

MumtotypeoneD1abetic · 02/05/2023 16:08

Just found out daughter has been awarded middle rate from 21st Dec. Scan date was 12/01. DM requested extra information 10/04 which was scanned onto system 27/04. Called today to see if there was any update and he said the decision was made today. So glad the wait is over! Good luck to all those waiting 🤞🏽

J8231 · 02/05/2023 17:44

Congratulations, hopefully not much longer to wait now then if yours was the 1st, I keep thinking we will get refused I did send some more evidence a few weeks ago so hopefully they got that

emma2442 · 02/05/2023 20:16

I'm due a decision soon I believe (scan date mid Feb) but I kept meaning to send in additional evidence. I still want to send it, have printed it off. What address do I send it to? As the address they've put on the letter acknowledging the application isn't the free post one.

I sent my additional evidence to the freepost address but marked the envelope with our reference number, I also called the day I sent it to tell them just incase it didn't arrive in time.
I was advised there is a 6week? (I think) period after the claim has been decided for new evidence and any amendments will be made if needed.

Unknown123qw · 03/05/2023 09:43

My scan date is the 20/2 just rang and been told there is a 17 week wait 🫣 so another 7 weeks whatttt!! Probably say different of I rang in a few days!

Siobhan489 · 03/05/2023 11:45

Hi all. Been silently following these threads for a few Weeks now. Scan date 30/1 and yesterday was Awarded HRC and LRM backdated To 21st December. took just over 13 weeks.
It's been a long and anxious wait and got to say Reading these chats have helped a little, Although got to say relieved it's finally over. It Will be Such A Great Help For my DD. Good luck to All waiting on news of thier claim 🙂🤞 and Don't lose hope.

FoxInABox · 03/05/2023 12:03

@Siobhan489 brilliant news, can I ask did they call you or did you call them? My scan date is the same, feeling quite anxious!

Siobhan489 · 03/05/2023 12:09

I called this morning for an update as was Told last week that my claim would be looked at over the bank holiday weekend by The overtime team.
Spoke to a lovely man Who was so helpful and gave me a lot of information regarding rates, backpay etc and also gave me a Number to contact carers Allowance. I would advise Giving Them a Call and ask for an update, I wouldn't have known my DD had been awarded having not called. Fingers crossed you hear Something soon and all is good news 🙂

FoxInABox · 03/05/2023 12:13

@Siobhan489 thank you I will give them a call

Daisymum18 · 03/05/2023 12:49

Scan date for my daughter is also 6th Feb I called this morning and was told no decision as yet and upto 14 week wait for a decision and should be with a decision maker next week

Dawnie0709 · 03/05/2023 13:44

My scan date is 05/01 current award ends in 6 days, mine sons renewal not even with a decision maker yet. Was told yesterday I have just got to wait. Asked what would happen if my current award ends before the renewal has been looked at and was told nothing they can do, just have to wait. Wasn't given any time and didn't seem to care that my carers element of UC may stop.

Hello there,

Our current award ends on 05/05
Curiosity got the better of me today & I called to ask for an update as I received a letter a few weeks ago about my carers allowance ending, Worried about how I’m going to manage & I just need to know,

Decision was made today & awarded until 2030

Hang in there as it looks like renewals are being processed in time for their end dates 🤞

Autismum4 · 03/05/2023 14:46

Hi @LoopyLouLou22 what a brilliant award length. Its so sad when they only award 2 years or similar, because we'd all love our children to wake up one morning and no longer have a lifelong condition!
May I ask what condition your child has?

Unknown123qw · 03/05/2023 14:51

Seems like people egt told different things when ringing up there at the start of February claims now so I can't see them taking 7 weeks to get through February

@Autismum4 My DD is living with autism, She has severe learning difficulties, Non verbal.
I’am a little bit disappointed as I have a lot of evidence & I really feel that she should have be awarded HRM instead she’s been awarded HRC & LRM
should I do a reconsideration ? What would you do ?

Daisymum18 · 03/05/2023 16:52

Hello I have heard it's really hard to get high mobility your child must fall under a certain criteria and tick all the boxes for it and you must be able to show evidence that your child meets each criteria personally as I'm currently still awaiting decision I will be elated if my daughter gets awarded anything im very much something is better than a decline sort of person

Autismum4 · 03/05/2023 17:17

Hi @LoopyLouLou22 I agree with @Daisymum18 only because they usually only award that if there is loss of limbs, wheelchair bound etc. By all means appeal if she meets that criteria however high care until 2030 is an absolutely super achievement and I'm thrilled for you and hope for the same result as that.
You are able to relax for a long time knowing your child has the right amount suited to the needs you have to care for x ❤

LoopyLouLou22 · 03/05/2023 17:54

@Daisymum18 @Autismum4 Thank you so much for your reply’s I appreciate you taking the time to respond, I don’t mean to appear ungrateful as I’am so grateful & thankful that my DD has been awarded it’s such a long anxious wait, I was shocked when I was told we had been awarded until 2030, The previous award was MRC & no mobility, Over the last two years since we were awarded I have been able to gather a lot of evidence including her diagnosis, My DD has a severe mental impairment which affects every aspect of her life, I feel in my heart that she qualifies for the higher rate for mobility xXx

Autismum4 · 03/05/2023 18:21

@LoopyLouLou22 I never once thought you seem ungrateful, I think you should do what is best for your situation and if that's to appeal you know everyone in this forum will support you, I think the anxiety in these group forums are off the scale and any award is amazing and what is deserved goes out the window and its so natural for us all to feel scared because the decision is with someone whose never met our babies and were with them day & night.
Based on the SMI rules - go for it, especially if you have evidence, they can award lower but mother to mother I think it's a scare tactic so that you bugger off with what you've been given - so fight mama!! X

Daisymum18 · 03/05/2023 18:41

@LoopyLouLou22 oh gosh no I wasn't trying to insinuate you where ungrateful at all I was just saying it's hard to get but if You feel the decision is wrong go with your gut you know your child better than anyone I do apologise if you felt I was being rude in anyway I'm just sick of waiting and would be just happy if my daughter got a bean at this point x
