@Autismum4 @Daisymum18 No it’s nothing that either of you said, You’ve both been nothing but lovely, It’s me saying it as I’ve seen many posts where people face been declined for there children which totally breaks my heart to read those rejections

It’s not easy trying to get things across on paper I’m not the best at it either but I worked hard on it nevertheless

You worry that you say too much then not enough the anxiety is real

Really pleased to be awarded I was really shocked at 2030 as well but I have to question if it’s the right award

emma2442 · 03/05/2023 22:40

Thanks for the info.

I got a letter through 2 weeks ago saying sorry we've not done it yet then a text today saying they're still looking at it.

I'm assuming that it doesn't really mean they've actually started the decision making process? I think its a general text sent out to discourage people chasing it as it's also says you do not need to contact us.

Anyone have any idea as to whether this actually means I'm slightly closer to a decision?

Unknown123qw · 04/05/2023 09:13

Iv had 2 txt and a letter and still nothin they told me yday another 7 weeks that wil make it 17 weeks all together

J8231 · 04/05/2023 09:43

I have just called to see if they recieved the additional evidence I sent, spoke to a lovley lady, she said its taking around 14 weeks from the scan date, so 6th of Feb scan date she said it should be with a dm middle of May.

Unknown123qw · 04/05/2023 11:32

Aww fantastic you should hear soon 😊I think they all say different things 😔 the wait is getting the better of me iv been ok for 11 weeks now my anxiety is through the roof I didn't reli send much evidence in just speech and language disorder evidence and dyslexia report and 1 sheet of a educational physiologist report I don't think the dyslexia stands tho

Piony · 04/05/2023 12:07

Just chiming in to say hi! I only sent ours in last week so no scan date yet even. On tenterhooks a bit for that, just so I know it's made it into the system.

J8231 · 04/05/2023 12:14

I wonder if the wait times depend on your area, because they do vary alot.
I didnt send that much off either I sent educational physiologist report, letters about being accepted on the adhd and autism pathway and 2 ehcp and then pages of my own words really, nothing from the school or professionals so I'm a little doubtful now, I was like you untill I hit 12 weeks and I can't stop thinking about it now

TiredOfCleaning · 04/05/2023 13:11

I did not send anything from school either. I figured that as the school had contributed to the educational psych reports when he was 5 and then again at 11 it was not neccessary. (Plus I felt embarrassed asking them - not sure why).

It's all so stressful.

emma2442 · 04/05/2023 13:49

I imagine it will be different wait times for different areas. I'm on week 10 so expect it to be a little while still.

I go back and forth about the evidence. I sent in 2 sheets from me, a page from the school teacher, the school SEN plan, speech therapist report, educational psychologist report and the CDC report. I forgot the education plan from the council and thought about sending it separately but I'm just going to wait and see now I think since I still feel like I sent in a fair bit. I hope so anyway!

I only sent professional reports and my own words. My children are home educated so no teachers involved with them. Just hoping it’s enough

J8231 · 04/05/2023 14:44

How did you find doing your own words, I think I ended up with 4 or 5 pages, I felt awful writing Everything he struggles to do, what is your scan date?

My scan date was only the start of March so I’ve got a way to go yet. I managed to keep everything onto a page and a half as felt it may make things clearer to whomever reads it. I sent off 2 forms as both my kids have special needs. I’m hoping we will have some sort of financial support but not pinning my hopes on it sadly. Thankfully, both have detailed reports from assessments but the assessments were done a few years ago so their needs are very different now.

Daisymum18 · 04/05/2023 16:52

I'm starting to feel less hopeful every day that goes by that we won't be awarded for our daughter I sent the assessments done by the specialist health visitors the assessment done by paed the salt assessment her diagnosis wich was only Nov 22 pretty much all the evidence was done in the last 2years and obviously the claim form itself wich I reiterated her needs and how much she is reliant on me to anticipate her needs

I agree with this. I had finished the documents and application but it took me weeks and weeks to write my own words. I just cried through alot of it as you just get on with the day to day life then when you have to actually set it all down in writing it brings home again just how limiting things can be for your child and for you as a family.

J8231 · 04/05/2023 20:32

I was the same, it's like listing all the negatives and you can't put any positives in there because it will be used against you, I just really hope we all get what our children deserve, they already have so much to deal with so getting some financial help would benefit our children so much

upthewallmumof3 · 04/05/2023 22:17

Just following to keep up xx scan date 13.02 but still no news 🙏🏻 good luck xxx

MrsB113 · 05/05/2023 08:02

I just wanted to updated for anyone who is close to their decision.
Scan date was 27/01, awarded on 25/04 backpack received on 28/04.
I received the award letter yesterday 4/05.
Our award was backdated to the 27/01 however payment is made from the first Wednesday following the award date so ours is from 1st Feb.

Just thought the timeliness may help anyone who is trying to figure out times/dates and ££'s.

Yoyo83 · 05/05/2023 14:08

Our scan date was 8/2/23, about 20 mins ago had a call from the DM asking some further questions, I've now just had a text to say we've been accepted!

J8231 · 05/05/2023 14:11

Aww that's brilliant, congratulations, can I ask what area are you in?

Autismum4 · 05/05/2023 14:25

@Yoyo83 brilliant. What questions did they ask? I'm finding lots of people are getting calls for additional questions but they had covered what they are asking in the additional comments, so are they trying to trip people up because that would be so cruel and uncalled for! :-(

Yoyo83 · 05/05/2023 15:09

I'm in hertforshire

Yoyo83 · 05/05/2023 15:11

It was things that I thought I had stated on the form, it was about his mobility and how often he falls, and then about night time waking and supervision

Unknown123qw · 05/05/2023 15:37

Awww amazin news xx

LunchBoxPolice · 05/05/2023 17:37

I’m having a nightmare with my son’s renewal. Our current claim ran out today.
I called a few weeks ago to check they received it and they confirmed they had, the guy said it would be renewed some time this week. I called today and (after 1.5 hours) spoke to a woman who said they hadn’t received it. She checked again and said oh we’ve got it but it hasn’t been registered, meaning it’s been missed. So she’s putting it through as urgent. I’ve been stressing and worrying that we aren’t going to get anything this time, while they haven’t even looked at it 😭

Unknown123qw · 08/05/2023 11:41

Feeling so anxious I didn't really fill enythin in...the school did it all the part I'm supposed to fill in about what my sons like I only written a little bit school SENCO added a letter to say he has 1to1 and counseling SPEECH and LANGUAGE said he has a LANGUAGE DISORDER that affects other areas aswell I had half a page of EDUCATIONAL PHYSIOLOGIST that just explained he displays SEMH needs and a report to say he's below average in processing information but at hight for speed and writing and below average for something else I just have the worst gut feeling were Gona be refused I have about a week left for a decision
