@J8231 what was your scan date? I'm hoping it's not much longer

Daisymum18 · 09/05/2023 19:17

Mine and @J8231 where 6th Feb

Daisymum18 · 09/05/2023 19:24

Sorry to be a pain last question I promise as my daughter was awarded on Saturday and with that being a weekend then bank holiday when would back pay most likely hit my account the man said payment was authorized on Saturday

NDandMe · 09/05/2023 19:25

Hi all, I think it's time I join the thread!

I sent 2 forms at end of Feb, each had scan dates of 8 March. DD already received DLA, and was awarded a higher rate within a surprisingly short time, about 6 weeks. I received the payment a week and a half before the award letter.

The other form is still being processed, I recently received an apology letter for the wait and they were working as fast as they could.

I'm really surprised at the difference, and hope it doesn't mean DS's claim is on the track to being denied. Although his struggles have increased since the application so at least if I need to fight the decision I'll have more evidence....

Fingers crossed everyone.

Mummytofivegirls · 09/05/2023 19:38

@Daisymum18 thankyou, fingers crossed we ain't much longer then 🤞

Hi so your scan date was 8/3 and you’ve have your response? Was it a new claim or renewal? Sorry I’m so new to this and have a very complex claim for a very rare condition. I sent mine in march and only received a letter Friday to advise me up to 15 weeks.

Yes, for the renewal, but I was disorganised (ADHD me!) and sent it after the claim ended. I always thought claims were processed without reference to previous claims, so not a renewal as such?

I don't understand why it was such a quick turnaround for her, so maybe I'm completely wrong.

I think you’ll get more help if you make a separate thread, but have you been turned down for a needs assessment or has the assessment taken place and you’ve been turned down for the EHCP?

126t · 10/05/2023 10:47

He got turned down after the assessment

I agree you may get more replies if you start your own thread. Maybe have a look on the SEN boards too. You need to appeal. It sounds intimidating but there is a streamlined processes for refusal to assess appeals, parents are overwhelmingly likely to win, and the tribunal service is (IMO) much easier to deal with than the LA. I think it needs to come from you, not the school, though. Own it, take control, no one else cares as much about your child as you do. Take note of your deadline to appeal, which LA should have put in a letter to you, and stick within in. IPSEA is great for advice.

We were awarded on a Tuesday and payment was in bank on the Friday

upthewallmumof3 · 10/05/2023 16:42

I've called today after an hour and 10 mins was greeted by a lady who had no customer service skills at all! My scan date was 16.02 she said it's in the cue and is taking 15 weeks! It's driving my anxiety thru the roof!

Congrats to everyone who has heard and been awarded! Xxx

I’m really sorry to hear that. I’ll be honest, I I don’t know much about refusals, but I see a previous poster has given you excellent advice. Do seek advice from Ipsea- their website is great and do appeal the decision. I do feel for you - it’s so stressful.

Nicole12345 · 11/05/2023 09:41

Same scan date as you, surely it can’t be much longer now. Really hoping he’s not refused I can’t deal with anymore form filling right now. I may call and see if there a update today

Nicole12345 · 11/05/2023 09:42

@upthewallmumof3

Mummytofivegirls · 11/05/2023 10:21

@Nicole12345 my scan date is 10/02 and I'm still waiting it wasn't with a decision maker when I rang Tuesday

Nicole12345 · 11/05/2023 10:53

@Mummytofivegirls Yours must be close now then. The wait is so stressful isn’t it. I just want to know now either
