I woke up this morning to what I assume is back pay! No idea what I’ve been awarded or for how long but now I know I’ve been granted something I’m happy to wait for the letter to find out. My scan date was 30/3. Now the process begins to claim for my youngest 🤦🏼‍♀️
Congrats to those also awarded today!

MammaLBlue · 26/07/2023 17:50

When you report to uc about backdated carers and child disability element does anyone know how long it takes to receive a message on when you get accepted for it?

shejokes11 · 26/07/2023 20:21

Guys just got a backdate payment scan date was 06/04/23 and not sure how to calculate what was the award lmao I'm just so happy guys

Thought so, universal credit are trying to say they already paid it but that was for my son not my daughter. I don't even know what else you can get it's so confusing thank you for your reply

Type something like..... On (//) (whatever your son's name is) was given a DLA award which I have notified you of and already in receipt of the extra disability element so that's great, however now on (//) (whatever your daughter's name is) has been also given a DLA award. Please can this be backdated to (//) as this was something we have been awaiting a decision on. Thank you.

Then if you have another carers to put on make sure you change the caring status too

Thank you, I have done that message, I claim the carer side for my son so won't be able to do that for my daughter I don't have a partner either so I think I have done it all now. Thank you so much

HRC a& LRM till 2029 however I am calling for a reconsideration as I believe my child should have the higher component of mobility due to him being ssi

Kiki2023 · 27/07/2023 13:53

Omg r we in April now I'm april 25th scan date

shejokes11 · 27/07/2023 14:42

@Minnie83 hey new thread. I was on the last one with you and know your situation. I received a hrc and lrm hwoever I was expecting to get the mobility component even more than the care. I'd like to appeal and am unsure of how to do it. I am also scared they may alter the care not sure

Minnie83 · 27/07/2023 20:54

@shejokes11 yeah you do run the risk of the whole award changing but you know your son better than anyone and if you think he deserves hrm then defo fight them. MR you can do in writing or phone them and request one

Bretty66 · 27/07/2023 22:10

Scan date 11/4 so over the 15 weeks
Still being told 17.5 weeks

Missycoco1 · 28/07/2023 06:05

Is anyone on here awaiting news on renewals? My youngest twins current award due to end 7/8. They recieved my claim pack back on 11th July (yes I know I'm cutting it fine 🫣)

Now I'm being told to 'accept' as my child is not disabled

Ll333 · 28/07/2023 09:23

Has anyone done a mandatory reconsideration if so what was the wait times

Lo89 · 28/07/2023 10:37

@Ll333 I sent mine off on 25th. Supposedly it's around 3.5 weeks that's what they told me on the phone

Ll333 · 28/07/2023 10:48

Thanks I’ll send mine today. Good luck x

Kiki2023 · 28/07/2023 12:27

It's 17 and a half weeks for anyone who's claim was sent in recently I was told if sent in in April then it's fifteen and a half. Mine was April 25th . On fone to them now

Mummyto3boys23 · 28/07/2023 12:35

Mine was 20th April. Feels like forever doesn't it. I need to call them as sons meds have been increased again for adhd. Is there an email address you can email with updates?

I am in the process hwoever my son is severely sight impaired 6 year old with developmental delays, his vision is good as nothing and they are banding him low rate mobility and high rate care. I am fearful if I do go through with this it would damage what we currently have also the VI teacher woudlnt help me with this. Stuck in a pickle ? Any thoughts?

Mummyof1sonxx · 28/07/2023 21:37

Hello. Mentioned before...but is anyone on change of circumstances? I'm on week 26 and when I called yesterday was told taking 27 weeks and to call back next week. Anybody else in the same sort of situation?

Minnie83 · 29/07/2023 02:03

Depends what ur decision date was @Ll333

Zoemelia · 29/07/2023 07:14

I’ve been told 25 weeks for change of circumstance am currently on week 18 I haven’t bothered caling as I called at 15 week and was told not to ring back until week 25

Mummyto3boys23 · 29/07/2023 08:27

Does anyone have an email address to send a change? Trying to get through is a nightmare 🤦‍♀️
Thank you x

I couldn’t work out the payment for the life of me but when I got the letter I realised it was because the rates changed in April so I’d been part awarded back pay at the old rate and part at the new rate! It said the old rates ended on April 11th and new ones started April 12th, and it was awarded from the Wednesday after my claim began. Hope that helps anyone who wants to try and work it out!

Mummyof1sonxx · 29/07/2023 23:01

@Zoemelia ah that's strange. When i phoned them they said 27 weeks and I'm on 25 weeks. I guess it depends on who you get on the phone and maybe the area you/I live

Mummyof1sonxx · 29/07/2023 23:02

Actually* 26 weeks
