Can anyone advise me, I sent in my DLA form for Ds with ASD alongside a 10 page report from his paediatric consultant (private diagnosis). I'm panicking that I didn't provide enough information, I answered the questions but referred to separate pages in the report for most of the question. Will this do? I'm wondering if I have provided enough information, stupidly though that a huge report detailing his various struggles would be enough.

Sounds similar to what we sent and got awarded mrc lrm good luck

It may be enough, it may not be. From what I’ve heard, it’s best to add as much evidence as possible but it’s still beneficial to write a lot about your child’s needs.

Don’t stress about it! No one on here knows so you’ll have to wait until you get a decision. Good luck💐

For anyone who’s recently been awarded and is still watching the thread, don’t forget to click on the below link and follow the steps.

My scan date was 20th of March and I found out on Fri 7th of July that DS was awarded MRC. One Sat 8th, I submitted the form to say that we’d missed the £150 disability payment. Just checked my account today and the money has been transferred already.

It was super easy, all that was needed was my son’s date of birth and full name. No need to explain why/how we missed the payment. Good luck all!

Not sure if my daughters claim is right, she was 14 in June her award is until 21/06/2026, that makes her 17, should I ring and query it?

Daisymum18 · 19/07/2023 02:41

My son's claim was with a DM as of Tuesday (yesterday) was told I'd get a text when a decision has been made today being Wednesday it'll be week 16 I was told probably another couple of days for a decision but might be longer if DM needs more info but tbf I sent literally everything I have to date now it's close to the end of waiting I'm Uber anxious it'll be a decline but from what I've read he is entitled to mid rate care I just hope the DM reads everything and understands he is not a typical 5 year old

TiredOfCleaning · 19/07/2023 06:50

Our 15 weeks is up in about 3 weeks. I am finding it very stressful! Just worried I have not sent enough info. I sent several reports from different experts- the latest of which states that his ASD and ADHD is effecting his daily life 'substantially and significantly' but I did not send a school report (For some reason I am embarrassed about the school knowing we have applied- still feel a sense of stigma about it which is silly I know).

Shellbel10 · 19/07/2023 08:40

I must be around same time as you scan date 27 April. I’m feeling anxious my son has no diagnosis we’re on the asd pathway. I sent in iep, occupational therapy report and copy of sleep prescription. Just hope this is enough

Mummyto3boys23 · 19/07/2023 09:26

Morning ladies- scan date was 20th April. My son is 4.5- diagnosed with adhd- private due to how Impulsive and hyper he is. He is medicated which breaks my heart 💔 it massively effects your life. We have 2 other children who struggle as we how to watch our little one all the time. We went his diagnosis, school report and a copy of a Dr's report from when they seen him. X2 referrals went to hospital but won't see him till he is at school which is September then there is a 2 plus year wait. All very frustrating! I didn't want to have to do this but it opens up more support I've been told.

TiredOfCleaning · 19/07/2023 10:30

yes my scan date is 26th April. :) Feels good to have a waiting buddy. very best of luck. Thanks

@Mummyto3boys23 Thanks it is hard.

Mummyto3boys23 · 19/07/2023 11:13

Nope the £150 isn’t included in the back payment. It’s from the recent cost of living disability payment so won’t be included.

If you’ve recently been awarded then click the link and fill in the form. Really simple, you just need your child’s full name and date of birth

Daisymum18 · 19/07/2023 14:32

Don't lose hope I know the wait is long and anxious I called DLA today to find my son had been awarded this morning 16weeks exactly only went to a DM yesterday it can happen so quickly to be honest I genuinely thought it was a decline I was so shocked
I'm assuming back pay will be paid on Friday as he was awarded this morning is that right ?

No problem! I’m happy that I’ve been able to help at least one person on this thread.

If you have FB, pls do join the FB support group on DLA. The advice there is so helpful. You’ll get the £150 if you fill out the form today so that’s an additional bit of help🙌

I think about 4 weeks so wasnt too long. I did ring them to see if i had time to send more off , i got a letter last week saying it could take 11 weeks so it was alot faster than that, fingers crossed you won't be waiting long and you get the decision you deserve
