For anyone who’s on UC. First screenshot is how you report the disabled element and the carers element which can be added onto your claim (only applies if your child has MRC or LRC).

Second screenshot is what to write in your journel to request a backpay for both elements to when your child got awarded. Hope that helps anyone!

Do you have any idea how long the backdatee payment with uc takes please

ItsBritneyBitchhhh · 10/07/2023 07:49

@Mammy0f4 I personally have no clue as I’ve just made the changes on UC on Friday so haven’t had a response yet!

Some people on FB have got the money within 3-5 working days (after receiving the letter confirming the amount), some people have submitted the backdated request ages ago and haven’t heard anything back!

I finally called this morning and my little boy (only 14 months old) has been awarded MRC. He has a genetic disorder and I sent in A LOT of evidence. He couldn’t get HRC because he has no night time needs at all.

Really happy as I was worried he’d been declined. I called for the forms in February and my scan date was 20th of March. They money will be back paid from February so that’s good news.

Anyone who’s waiting from 20th of March hopefully you hear soon🤞

@Ll333 have you thought about doing a MR?

Yay finally congratulations 🎊 🙂 x I'm so happy for you it is so life changing 😁

Did anyone get a text on week 13 saying their claim is still being looked at?

Lexikat · 10/07/2023 14:03

Just rang and told my daughter been awarded no had any text but her scan date was 21 March
rang tax credits to let them know they mentioned a disability payment on tax credits does anyone know what that is thank you

Mum331 · 10/07/2023 17:01

@Lexikat
They will back date and add the disability element to your awarded date. It takes exactly a week from the date you notify them and the amount depends on the level awarded ie HRC, MRC etc. They are pretty quick hope that helps xx

Lexikat · 10/07/2023 17:28

My daughter got low rate on both will that mean I get disability tax credits then

Lexikat · 10/07/2023 17:28

Thank you

Rainbowcity33444 · 10/07/2023 17:50

Yes you will get the disability tax credit element added on once they’ve double checked your child has been awarded dla.

It’s only on the care element the tax credit element is awarded on not mobility. You get the disability tax credit element for low or middle rate care then an additional severe disability element for high rate care

samjames112 · 10/07/2023 18:33

The back installment will assist with a portion of that and when I'm on an all the more balanced I know precisely exact thing private treatment I'll jump aboard. I'm still in total shock. I assumed I must allure however had proactively surrender to the way that I probably will not have the energy for that soon, so I'd everything except discounted it.

Best of luck to every other person. I trust that by sharing my timetable it could essentially help somebody. I've prowled behind the scenes and I realize it's been useful for me to get a thought of timescales.

Sendsafespace · 11/07/2023 23:11

been lurking and following. Which has been helpful and keeping me off the phone. We are week 15 today and I made 2 applications for both of my children. One diagnosed with autism and one on the pathway for autism and adhd.

my son who is on the pathway was awarded - no text. No letters only because I finally gave in and called today. MRC/LMR backdated to Feb when I called but scan date 29/03 money was paid Thursday but still not hit my account but presumably this will be any day now.

my daughter with diagnosis has still not been looked at or passed to claims manager…

so really no rhyme or reason… hope this helps some one and I can tell you I cried tears of relief today.

i have resigned from my job as an assistant headteacher and senco because my children need me. This will make all the difference to what I can now implement for them but hopefully she will too be awarded.
Good luck x

Did anyone get a text on week 13 saying their claim is still being looked at?

Not week 13 but I had a text yesterday saying this.

Piony · 11/07/2023 23:31

@Sendsafespace congratulations, that must be such a relief. I've also given up my career and things are tight. I hope your daughter gets awarded very soon.

It does sound a bit of a lottery, which is uncomfortable. I am finding it so helpful just knowing not to expect any sort of answer yet.

Autismum4 · 13/07/2023 18:47

What week is everyone on? Has anyone had any awards? I'm located Kidlington near Oxford

barelyfunctional · 13/07/2023 18:54

Had one awarded yesterday the day before hitting 16 weeks. Will be 16 weeks tomorrow with the other application and haven’t heard anything yet.

Shellbel10 · 14/07/2023 12:56

Anyone in the south east area. Wondering how long claims taking

Mummyto3boys23 · 14/07/2023 13:28

I'm Northampton and on week 13. My son has been diagnosed with adhd. So worried we won't get dla.
Is there any other support out there? Very new to all this.
Thank you.

Zoemelia · 14/07/2023 17:44

Anyone waiting for a coc and no a time frame I’ve been waiting 16 weeks today

Daisymum18 · 15/07/2023 11:51

My son's form was received on march 29th I called Friday and was told it's 16weeks before claims are even allocated to a DM to be looked at it'll be 16 weeks on Wednesday for my son but I was told 14 weeks for my daughter and her claim was looked at and awarded on may 6th wich was 13 weeks after they got it

Daisymum18 · 15/07/2023 11:53

Congrats you should have the payment Monday my son's scan date is the 29/3 I was told 16 weeks before it gets assigned to a DM

Zoemelia · 15/07/2023 14:55

Are they change in circumstances or new claims sorry if don’t mind me asking

MansfieldLark · 17/07/2023 09:06

Can anyone advise me, I sent in my DLA form for Ds with ASD alongside a 10 page report from his paediatric consultant (private diagnosis). I'm panicking that I didn't provide enough information, I answered the questions but referred to separate pages in the report for most of the question. Will this do? I'm wondering if I have provided enough information, stupidly though that a huge report detailing his various struggles would be enough.

Daisymum18 · 17/07/2023 11:35

My son's is a new claim my daughter's was aswell but hers was looked at an awarded on the 13th week it'll be 16 weeks Wednesday they got my son's claim
