@ADHDMummaBear sorry to hear it was declined. Get that MR in ASAP x

ToughMum · 15/03/2023 21:23

@AnxietyMumma thanks appreciate it. It would be helpful to know the scores. I am not sure my son will get it but will appeal. It won't be the last they hear from me!

AnxietyMumma · 15/03/2023 21:31

@ToughMum thet are more in depth but these are brief

my son got a 1 on communication stating that sometimes there's difficulty during a journey

5 on hazard awareness. Stating dangerous on every journey as not aware of dangers/hazards

3 on behavioural. Stating moderate behavioural problems. Resolves slow with correct support

5 on ability to travel independently. Stating only travel by car or taxi. Needs assistance to travel. No travel when overwhelmed/distressed

Oh I completely forgot to mention my boys got an EHCP in place. Feel like that would help, so annoyed I forgot to mention it...there's so much to remember. If I send it in to be added, do you think it may delay the wait time for his application?

Hi sorry to jump on but can you get an Ehcp in place without a diagnosis? We are waiting for stage two of the assessment ( the sensory room) but school keep asking me to pester them as they want an ehcp but he needs to be diagnosed apparently.
Tia x

AnxietyMumma · 15/03/2023 23:35

@Cacb15 it might be different criteria in different areas but where I am you don't need a diagnosis. Though I think that's solid ground and evidence. My sons school didn't sort his til he had acceptance letters onto the pathways for ASD and ADHD

Snickerdoodles19 · 16/03/2023 06:50

same for my area, you can’t get an EHCP without a diagnosis, there’s other forms of help like IEPS, IHCP that focus on areas of need.

Daisymum18 · 16/03/2023 08:08

My son has an echp but doesn't have a diagnosis he was deffered a year so he started reception last year instead of 2021 to get the ehcp he was assessed by a special education teacher from the council and a educational physcologist his ehcp was accepted last year just after he started in reception I'm in Lancashire (rossendale) my daughter is diagnosed but currently waiting for special teacher and educational physcologist to become involved she currently still in nursery due to start reception this year

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 16/03/2023 08:11

Eek I didn’t send a copy of my son’s EHCP with the forms, I presumed they would get in touch with his teacher 😬
Should I have sent them does anyone know? Or do they get in touch with the school?

Snickerdoodles19 · 16/03/2023 08:12

@Daisymum18 its rough going isn’t it, I’m currently waiting for EP to come out again and see my son as he’s in year 5 now so I need to know if there’s anything else going on with him apart from the issues he has already, if there is I will be telling his school that I want an EHCP assessment done before he goes to secondary school because at present there’s no way he could cope in one

Snickerdoodles19 · 16/03/2023 08:13

@WouldJudasLeaveIt yeah I’d deffo get it sent in as it’s a big piece of evidence

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 16/03/2023 08:30

Thanks Snickerdoodles19 I‘ll copy it and send it today.

Snickerdoodles19 · 16/03/2023 08:31

@WouldJudasLeaveIt send it recorded just in case

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 16/03/2023 08:39

I will thanks, would kick myself hearing back in weeks that I hadn’t sent enough information.

Snickerdoodles19 · 16/03/2023 08:42

@WouldJudasLeaveIt yes I know, I always second guess and question whether I sent enough or not.

I would call them and ask, I believe you may get the disabled child part to it even if they don't get the regular elements. Definitely call and ask. I'm on UC now so I'm not so clued up on the tax credits side any more but I do think you will get something x

Boymom10 · 16/03/2023 11:09

Snickerdoodles19 · 16/03/2023 13:16

@Boymom10 ice just had mine renewed only 3 days before it was due to end, hopefully it will be with a dm in the next few days, mine was with a dm for 6 days
