Don't be put off. She is the 4th person I've spoke to and she definitely had the worst attitude. The rest have been really lovely and helpful

Oh thank you, I might ring tomorrow and hope I get a nice one 🤞☺️

Can you have the carers element on UC aswell as apply for carers allowance??

Marikel · 25/04/2023 14:16

@RobWell if you log on to uc and go to make a change you click on the child's name and fill in that section . Once uve done it I would ring to verify you have done it correctly and they will tell you on the phone . If your struggling you can ring and they will go through it with you .

I just got through. Not awarded ☹️. I was quite sure he would be awarded as my son is due to have a feeding tube fit.

Sorry I'm in same boat in regards to knock back. So unfair how we have to prove to people that don't know us that our kids find life hard and need extra support and help.. I dare say you'll 100% be awarded when the tube is fit

Jay53 · 25/04/2023 14:58

@Mum2two7
I'm debating if there is any point doing a mandatory reconsideration. They are aware of everything so what difference would it make?
Sorry to hear you wasn't awarded. Will u be doing the reconsideration?

Kellunar · 25/04/2023 15:29

Hi scan date 24/1 13 weeks today just been awarded hrc so happy. When will I receive back pay?

Hamsjm · 25/04/2023 16:52

how long dose it take to scan in new evidence, sent them a autism letter 3 weeks ago, called them today, they still have not received it.

I'm not sure it depends what the letter says in terms of why they said no if there's any arguments to be put forward. It's so draining though.

lixx · 25/04/2023 19:15

To everyone who's not been awarded. Definitely do Mandatory reconsideration. As a new decision maker will look at all the information given. Ask for a letter of reasons or ask them to read over the phone and list it down. Reply to each point with evidence already given and or any new evidence you may have. Dont give up.

lixx · 25/04/2023 19:16

@Sarahc91 yes.

Jay53 · 25/04/2023 21:53

@Mum2two7
It is draining. I'm going to go for the MR. I've wrote so much down tonight so I will phone it through tomorrow. My decline letter was apparently sent out 2 weeks ago so they said I only have 2 weeks to get it to them. I don't trust sending a letter to them it takes so long for it to be acknowledged.

Forms received on the 30/1. First text saying still looking at claim on the 03/4 then a second text on 24/4. Anyone the same date and been awarded? Will be 13 weeks on Monday which is a bank holiday so hoping it will be soon

Call Thursday or Friday. We were awarded today with a scan date of 27/01

Alex900 · 26/04/2023 06:10

@MrsB113 did you ring and they told you? My scan dates the same as you but as of yesterday there was nothing to report

MrsB113 · 26/04/2023 06:14

Yes I called them and they told me over the phone. Hope you hear soon

Alex900 · 26/04/2023 06:15

@MrsB113 what time did you call I rang 9am yesterday morning?

MrsB113 · 26/04/2023 06:18

Around 11ish on hold for 50minutes. The lady said the decision had been made in the morning

Alex900 · 26/04/2023 06:22

@MrsB113 well I will be ringing first thing this morning AGAIN 🙈 I think we had the same woman on the phone yesterday she was horrible until security was passed had me spelling names fully, wanted my previous address and postcode which I havnt lived at for 10 years but now now we got passed that she was nice. I hope I don’t get her this morning though. Gosh I’m nervous now I know someone has been awarded on the same scan date as me. I’m not holding out much hope to be fair as I seen two people were declined but will see what today brings

MrsB113 · 26/04/2023 06:31

I think the lady I had was called Sally.
I didn't have alot of evidence so the decision was based off of the form it's self. Maybe it was just a quick case to get through, who knows.
The care needs dd has are pretty typical of her condition so maybe that helped.
Fingers crossed you get some positive news today.

Ncheetham01 · 26/04/2023 06:35

My scan date was 18/1 rang Monday to be told with dm still not heard anything so I'm not very hopeful 😕

Lauren1491 · 26/04/2023 06:49

Just a little update, I was going to ring today for an update (scan date 20/01) I checked my bank and have received a payment in my bank. I'm so relieved, this will help alot with dd. Good luck to everyone else still waiting. 🤞🍀

Sarahc91 · 26/04/2023 07:49

I rang yesterday morning 9am there was no update but got a text at 10am to say my daughter qualifies so even if no update when you ring you might still get a text good luck to all still waiting, my scan date was 19th jan

Alex900 · 26/04/2023 08:48

I’m going to ring in 13 minutes and hopefully they will give me some news at this point good or bad I’m over this wait. Means I can plan for the next step whichever way they decide

Autismum4 · 26/04/2023 08:51

@MrsB113 morning what evidence did you send with your claim? Just wondering because I only sent 2 pieces but before a diagnosis you can't get much else because until they are diagnosed they can't access much help x
