@CheesePlease33 i know it’s hard and I don’t think people get it sometime.my son 12 has asd and learning disability, low muscle tone and other things that impact his life on a daily basis. He still uses nappies throughout the night and also to do a no2. He doesn’t leave the house unless for school that is it!!! So weekends and after school I’m home half term I don’t leave the house.if I need anything after these times it just tuff really. When I tell people this nobody understands. It can become quite a lonely place and experience.. sending hugs

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 15/03/2023 12:50

Bloody hell, just popped on here to see the waiting times, it’s just taken me over 2 hours to fill the forms in 😑
My son had been receiving the middle rate care and apparently he should be on high rate care and high rate mobility 😬
Aah 15 week wait to hear anything then 🫣

AnxietyMumma · 15/03/2023 13:34

@Snickerdoodles19 each council is different I believe. I applied as he had no road safety awareness and jumps around or runs. He's so intelligent, if I ask him what to do at a road He will tell me. But he can't process it to do it.

I sent as evidence his ASD and ADHD waiting list letters, old EP report, EHCP draft, behaviour plan and care plan from the school which states his sensory overload and presenting as PDA. His OT acceptance letter. They all sort of tally up with each other about lack of awareness to danger etc

The report scored him 14 out of 20. It had to get 12. 5 being maximum for each category and mobility was scored 0 because he can physically move on his own

AnxietyMumma · 15/03/2023 13:34

*has not had

I just had another text saying we are still looking at your claim. Scan date 19/12

I had the same text today too scan date 16/12

ADHDMummaBear · 15/03/2023 16:16

Anyone called today? Still on hold now & have been for 56 minutes 🥴

ToughMum · 15/03/2023 16:53

@anxietymumma I applied for Blue Badge for my son a few weeks ago. I am still waiting for the support letter from his consultant which I will email them. How long did your application take? I only sent across all my sons clinical consutlant reports post seeing them and his diagnosis. I didn't really spend too much time on the narrative because I wanted to get it in for the deadline. To be honest after the DLA EHCP and a few other admin forms I had low battery for the BB! Really hope he gets but from a mobility perspetice he will likely score nothing or low because he can walk - it's just safety and awareness he lacks. Hopefully I got that point across.

Badassmom · 15/03/2023 18:15

Hi everyone, I am also in the waiting game . My scan date was 13/12/2022 , I have phoned a few times and everyone I speak to someone they change the date from 13 to 14 now it is 16 weeks. It’s so frustrating to be so anxious and waiting. Do they still send a text to say the child has been awarded ? Good luck to everyone xxx

Adventure2022 · 15/03/2023 18:22

Also had another text today still looking at claim.
Scan date 16/12. Hopefully not too much longer

Boymom10 · 15/03/2023 18:30

@ADHDMummaBear I tried phoning this morning but it said they were on industrial strike and only phone if it’s urgent so I put the phone down?

emma2442 · 15/03/2023 18:33

Oh I completely forgot to mention my boys got an EHCP in place. Feel like that would help, so annoyed I forgot to mention it...there's so much to remember. If I send it in to be added, do you think it may delay the wait time for his application?

Snickerdoodles19 · 15/03/2023 18:35

@emma2442 yes send it in recorded delivery to get there the next day, write on the back of the envelope the ref no, name and state it’s for renewal

Snickerdoodles19 · 15/03/2023 18:37

@emma2442 it shouldn’t delay the claim, I sent in extra info recorded delivery was added onto claim 2 weeks before it was due to end

ADHDMummaBear · 15/03/2023 18:38

I got through straight after I posted - we have been declined 😭 so I’m appealing and currently typing every ounce of evidence I can think of!

Hi, I hope you don’t mind me asking do you know if there is another way to find out the scores given for each section? Or was it just listed in the report from the assessment? Just curious and nosey!

Snickerdoodles19 · 15/03/2023 18:54

@ADHDMummaBear what evidence did you send in?

ADHDMummaBear · 15/03/2023 18:55

@Snickerdoodles19 I didn’t have any physical evidence, I sent his school my plans and his boxall assessment as my son is only on refferals currently.

Snickerdoodles19 · 15/03/2023 18:57

@ADHDMummaBear did you write your own account of how he is at home?

ADHDMummaBear · 15/03/2023 18:59

@Snickerdoodles19 yes but I believe not in depth enough so I’m currently working off two screens one of the application form and a word document so I can write as much as I like about his behaviours and needs. Also I’ve requested him referrals from school to send as evidence as I’m hoping they need to keep a copy for his records.

Snickerdoodles19 · 15/03/2023 19:01

@ADHDMummaBear yes definitely make sure you include everything washing, dressing, eating, sleep all of it, send anything you think will go in your favour, how old is your child?

ADHDMummaBear · 15/03/2023 19:03

@Snickerdoodles19 hes literally just turned 7. In so cross with myself - I’m an area manager for a supported living company for adults with additional needs, I fill these forms in all the time!! I just rushed his unfortunately!

ToughMum · 15/03/2023 20:13

@ADHDMummaBear I am sorry to hear this. I am sure the decision will be turned once you give them detail on your childs needs. Please can I ask your scan date?

ADHDMummaBear · 15/03/2023 20:14

@ToughMum 5/12, they said decision was made yesterday xx

@RainbowsTulipsChocolate @ToughMum quicker than I thought. Just 3 weeks. It went to the assessor on 1st March and was accepted yesterday. If your child can walk fine you'll score 0. If they send it to an independent assessor you'll get the report which shows you the score and why its that score. If it doesn't go to an assessor you won't know I don't think

I mixed both answers as forgot who asked what 🤣
