Good luck to everyone who’s been awarded and due to be. That wait is the worst wait I’ve ever had to wait and to think I have to do it all over again for my son 😩 so thankful for this thread!

What do you mean, the evidence you have is from those dates? I should think it would be ok, by son hasn’t seen the paediatrician for 2 years now so I didn’t have evidence from them, only school.

Autismum4 · 21/04/2023 18:51

So I have evidence dated 2021 and 2022, it's still relivent but obviously not recent. The only recent is school and occupational therapist report
The diagnosis letter is also dated 2021 which I sent to them first time round , will they accept the same letter twice as its still the same disability just a renewal and nothing has changed

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 21/04/2023 18:58

Yes I’d definitely send it, especially with an up to date school report, they see your child for a lot of the day.

Boymom10 · 21/04/2023 21:48

@Autismum4 yes definitely send it I sent stuff off from 2020 2021 as it’s all still very relevant to his day to day life. Yes send the same letter again and I’d you can ask school to maybe write a letter. And your Ot will letter should be fine 😊

Autismum4 · 22/04/2023 06:36

The school isn't a letter as much more like a plan to help him and what methods they will use he isn't reliably toilet trained and needs adult support and they mentioned that along with support with emotions , it's a report which should still be acceptable do you think?x

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 22/04/2023 08:47

Definitely Autismum4.

MrsB113 · 22/04/2023 08:55

I can't see why the information you have wouldn't be acceptable, surely you only get a diagnosis once. I would submitted the letter you have and just make a comment that they already hold that evidence as nothing new has come to light in the form of a diagnosis.

Lodol · 22/04/2023 22:44

I would assume it would be accepted as you wouldn’t rediagnose

does anyone know the rates for uc for mrc lrm?
I thought it was just a carers element but been told you get an additional amount for the child so works out to about £300 extra all together is that right? Seems a lot on top of dla!

MrsB113 · 22/04/2023 23:42

Taken from gov.uk.

You’ll get:

  • £146.31 if your child is disabled
  • £456.89 if your child is severely disabled
Hope this helps.
Lodol · 23/04/2023 12:21

Thank you that’s what they said like 180ish carers then that too thank you x

Marikel · 23/04/2023 14:38

I was awarded mrc for my son and explained on my form that he needs extra care during the night when I spoke to the adviser he said he didn't get hrc as his medicated during the night which is not the case his not on night tablets, I explained the doctor has spoke about them but at the moment has left him without as his having night terrors and sleep walks . Just wondering if anyone had any advice should I call them and explain or best leaving it as it is .

Lodol · 23/04/2023 15:06

I did wonder if they read my night time evidence as my daughter does have night time medication and wakes constantly!

when did you uc usual payment go through and did it include the change?

ERG123 · 23/04/2023 16:28

What rates do you have to get to qualify for severely disabled etc

Marikel · 23/04/2023 16:45

@Lodol My uc is the 16th and didn't include change. He doesn't have night time Meds and I spend a lot of time with him during night. There decision was based on the fact he has meds at night but I clearly stated he doesn't. @ERG123 I think it's hrc but I'm not 100% on that.

ERG123 · 23/04/2023 16:58

Ah ok I don’t know my rates yet, tried to call Friday but was on hold for over an hour. I’m not expecting UC to be in a rush about anything either tbh

Lodol · 23/04/2023 17:43

I would ring up and ask them would they re look at it or would that count as a reconsideration?

yeah my next payment is due 17 April hoping it gets changed in time but not holding hope! Seems to be 1-2 months before it’s done although the lady from uc said it should be a week for the changes and then they have to apply for back pay which is longer x

Marikel · 23/04/2023 18:23

I think il ring in morning and see what they say just worried that they may take of him what his already been awarded and end up with nothing. Uc are always slow it took a month for back pay when I was put on lrwca

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 23/04/2023 19:20

You’d need to ask them for a statement of reasons as to why he’s not entitled to HRC @Marikel and do a mandatory reconsideration highlighting in your evidence why you think he’s entitled to it.
As you say it can run the risk of his award being lowered as they’ll look at the whole claim again.

Marikel · 23/04/2023 19:44

@WouldJudasLeaveIt thankyou il ask and see what it says , the gentleman dis read it all out to me but can only remember the part where he said the reason they couldn't award him hrc was because his medicated during the night .

Alex900 · 24/04/2023 08:29
