It's looking like we're going to need a new thread. Good luck to everyone waiting for a decision. Our scan date is 02/11 so it could be any day now, but most likely another week or two.

@Vikmomof3 mine went to DM yesterday morning and I got the text a couple of hours later. Yeah I did thankfully.

How's everyone getting on today? I've just heard someone with the same scan date as me getting awarded today, I'm fighting the urge to call until the end of the week. The wait is agonising, waiting for someone that hasn't ever met DD deciding is she is 'in need enough' for extra help... I've completely lost confidence in an acceptance for DLA over this last week!

I could have written this myself, to be honest. I'm trying so hard not to be obsessed with it, but it's not working. I just want to know now.

Really bracing for a decline now. They seem completely erratic in who they award, looking at FB. Like all of us here, I just want to know so I can move forward.

Do you think you'll call?

12 weeks for ours tomorrow.

Shellbod81 · 31/01/2023 15:04

@Shellbel10 so sorry to hear that, I would say not to give up! Can you ask what your child has been diagnosed with? ….my son got declined in November, I was gonna give up but people told me to fight it …I had a letter saying not to contact them before 11 weeks , it’s all so frustrating! X

It's definitely all over the place with the awards. Like you, it's becoming all consuming. I'm off work tomorrow so I might give them a call tomorrow afternoon and see if anythings moving. I don't want to pester either. It would be great if there was some kind of online system where you could check progress of claims.

Keepgoing88 · 31/01/2023 16:19

I know this is a bit OTT but I called Monday morning was told could be up to 2 weeks (scan date 28/10) and I called back at 4pm same day as I wanted to know if it was actually with a DM and was told over the phone that decision had been made. Guess it can be that quick. I’ve had no other communication to tell me I’ve been awarded so if I had not called I’d still be waiting IYSWIM

WreckTangled · 31/01/2023 16:26

It’s annoying when you see some people from beginning of nov being awarded her some are still waiting from mid October, completely unfair (I’m mid nov so not expecting anything yet).

Honeypie91 · 31/01/2023 16:48

Can anyone advise me .. so I currently work part time and Really struggling with mornings & childcare after school ect , Also keep having to take half days /days off for appointments , because of lack of childcare , illness ect .. I was hoping if my sons awarded Mrc or hrc I would be able to resign and be around more for him & then I won’t need to worry about child care ect .. I currently get tax credits but will have to change over to uc .. has anyone done this before ? Will I still be required to work ?
im going to make an appointment with citizens advice but thought you ladies might be able to help first x

Snickerdoodles19 · 31/01/2023 16:57

@Honeypie91 why would you need to change over to UC? As far as I know when your child is awarded update to tax credits that your receiving dla, in regards to working why don’t you drop down to lower hours and then try to also get carers allowance instead of giving your job up.

harjinder01 · 31/01/2023 17:35

We are still looking at your DLA1 Child claim. When a decision is made we will confirm it in writing. There is no need to contact us about it. I had this today i wanted to know if any know after this txts how long will be now . Thank you

Christinaja · 31/01/2023 17:37

@harjinder01 I had this message 17th Jan still waiting mine is with DM

Girlmum11 · 31/01/2023 17:44

@Christinaja still no news 😩

Rainbow1600 · 31/01/2023 17:45

Does anyone else have same scan date as me 31/10 I rang yesterday wasn't with dm I'm also seeing people being awarded from November and someone been told whos 4th November should have a decision by end of next week x

Honeypie91 · 31/01/2023 17:49

@Snickerdoodles19
if I were to leave my job they would change me over to uc as it’s a change of circumstance, my work wouldn’t be able to accommodate me for less hours as I’m already part time & we are very short staffed , and I’m currently working 9.30-6.30 but it’s 5 miles from home so it’s sooo hard to do the school run and then bus it 5 miles and then by the time I finish , get the bus to collect my son and then get home I don’t get home till 9 some evenings .
my son doesn’t sleep at night either so I barely sleep and am running on empty , it’s honestly so stressful . if I were to cut my hours down I would need to do 10-2 and there’s no way my work would accommodate that .

AdhdMumOf3 · 31/01/2023 17:50

Scan date 04/11 had to ring today to add something extra and tell them I'll send it through when I get a copy and was told it might not get there in time as they're working at 12-14 weeks and I'm already at nearly 13.

Christinaja · 31/01/2023 18:13

@Girlmum11 no news 😢

Scanner20 · 31/01/2023 18:19

@harjinder01 I had that text at 10 weeks and I'm 12 weeks tomorrow. Expecting it to be another two weeks going by this thread. You might be lucky to be at the top of the pile but could be at the bottom and then it takes longer.

Christinaja · 31/01/2023 18:23

Mine must be at the bottom it's been with DM for a week

Snickerdoodles19 · 31/01/2023 18:31

@Honeypie91 they would have to try if you filled in a flexible working form asking for adjustments to be made to help keep you in work while having a child with additional needs/disabilities I’ve had to do it before with my work. I know how you feel I work 2 days a week the days my husband is off work and neither of my sons sleep, it’s very exhausting especially when I’m up for 4 for work.

harjinder01 · 31/01/2023 19:08

Yes I believe so

Girlmum11 · 31/01/2023 19:49

@Christinaja i feel for you I really do. I don’t think it’s fair how everyone is getting told different Information either. Did you ring up today? Tomorrow is going to be your day ✨ I feel it in my bones 🥰

Cody4 · 31/01/2023 20:34

How long after your waiting time is best to ring up?? Will be 22 weeks on 17th but don’t want to ring on the Friday for them not to tell me anything

tourettesadhdmum · 31/01/2023 20:51
