It's looking like we're going to need a new thread. Good luck to everyone waiting for a decision. Our scan date is 02/11 so it could be any day now, but most likely another week or two.

Good luck both.

I'm exactly 13 weeks today. Don't know if it's best to call them at the end of the week or to just wait.

Hi my scan date is 10/11. I rang on Friday and the lady told me they receive an email each week updating them on how long decisions are taking and she said she got the email and it said 12 and a half weeks. So told me I should have a decision in the next week or two and to call back at 13 weeks if I haven’t heard anything. Will be 12 weeks tomorrow.

Scanner20 · 01/02/2023 09:52

@Mammy2five thanks for the update. Perhaps they are catching up now. I might hear something soon as we are at 12 weeks today. Fingers crossed for good news this week!

Worriednow21 · 01/02/2023 10:03

I'm 13 weeks today too. Let's hope for some news by the end if the week.

87SPD · 01/02/2023 11:54

Hi 👋

I have been keeping my eye on this thread. They received my DD’s application on 8/11/22 so I am assuming that they are still a few weeks off looking at it yet, I just wanted to know what evidence people sent?

I am slightly worried because I only sent an ASD diagnosis report which included comments from the school but not many as at the time DD was not attending at all really. She is 12 and we had an initial battle with the school to recognise that we had concerns. She was privately diagnosed and since then then school have really stepped up, put her on the SEN register, even apologised for not acting sooner as it’s very clear she needed additional support.

Has anyone had an award without written support from the school? I am sure they would write a statement for us now but thinking it may be too late?

TIA and good luck to everyone waiting for a decision hope you’re DC get their awards 🤞

Girlmum11 · 01/02/2023 12:24

@87SPD hi lovely. I’m actually in a very similar situation to you although I haven’t even got a diagnosis. My scan date is 26/10/22 and I rang 2 days ago asking if it was to late to send more evidence & she said no send it straight away & she would make a note on my file so I would just get it over asap but ring them to let them know what you’re sending x

Just tried to call but there is an automated message saying about industrial action and to only stay on the line if it's important. Has anyone else called today? It doesn't seem very important, but mentally I'm exhausted with it all now.

Ah crap. I did wonder if they would be affected by the strikes.

I completely forgot they were striking as well, I'm hearing a lot getting answers from the same dates as us so hopefully not much longer! Would just be nice to see where it might and whether it's with the powers that be.

Yeah, I wonder if it's just the telephone operators striking, or if it's the DMs as well.

I don't begrudge anyone striking. I guess we'll have to just wait longer. Maybe they are still sending out texts.

@Girlmum11 just rang up.. we finally have a decision.. was made late yesterday. I did ring up at 2.30pm no decision then must have been made after that.HRC untill September 2025 so happy for my boy!! Good luck every one

Mumofboysteamginge · 01/02/2023 15:26

I called this morning 12 weeks today since the received the claim. I asked them for an update as my UC work coach is pushing me to get an update. The lady at 1st wouldn’t tell me anything, I said I don’t want to call and be on the phone but it’s something I’m being asked to do by UC. She then said it’s been passed to a different department but not allocated as of yet!?

I have no idea what that meant. She said wait until 13 weeks to call again 🤷‍♀️

I hate waiting, it was hard work filling out the forms. Then sending in additional evidence costs £7 each time! Universal are putting pressure on me to go back to work, we get barely any sleep at all, we have CAMHS appointments once a week then hospital appointments, UC asking me to go in once a week, that topped off with getting calls from school left right and centre. I’ve had enough the people on the other end of the phone need to understand just how much pressure we are under how stressful the whole system really is 😭

Girlmum11 · 01/02/2023 15:34

@Christinaja so bloody happy for you! See I told you it was your day today 🥰

It's so stressful isn't it. I hope you get a positive answer soon.
