DLA Wait Times Part 8 (2023)

It's looking like we're going to need a new thread. Good luck to everyone waiting for a decision. Our scan date is 02/11 so it could be any day now, but most likely another week or two.

Hi what date are there on dla now DM plz let me know am no 28 November my scan date is how long will it take for mine i have not rang i did done my older son that took 5 month and i used to ring l the time but did not get any where but he was awarded hight and low on mobility.

@gingergingerginger i know I said exactly the same thing it would stop people ringing if they can see updates online and also much quicker sending over evidence.

@Snickerdoodles19 they won’t let the dla run past 16th birthday even if award runs out the following year, but yes you can choose not to apply for pip. The dla will stop shortly after 16th birthday

@Nothighgaprequired thank you sorry about the miscommunication, I know it’s a while away but I just don’t think I could put him into that sort of situation he struggles with strangers as it is.

Ye I understand your worries, that’s why I applied to be appointee and requested a paper based assessment, no way could mine cope with a face to face assessment

@Nothighgaprequired yes I’ve been having a good read up on it and there’s only a few acceptable reasons to get a paper based form, my son is autistic so I know he wouldn’t cope, I will see further down the line how he goes on but right now he’s almost 12 with the brain age of a 6 year old

Scan date 31/10 called today and was told it’s not with a dm yet but is right at the top of the pile & when it goes to the dm it can take a couple of hours or a few days but I should have decision by Friday, possibly even by wed .. I said if Iv not heard anything by Friday should I call back ? She said yes defo .

Wonder why I was told up to 2 weeks and my scan date was the 26th? It’s so weird I don’t understand any of them 🤣🙈

@Shellbel10 I would really recommend getting some advice either from Citizens Advice or a charity. I have had help from a wonderful advisor from the NDCS as my son has hearing loss. She has helped me so much with my appeal and given me the confidence to fight it. It is extremely exhausting and upsetting. I feel like I have to fight for everything for my son just to get him the help and support he needs, it’s so unfair!

I know it’s so weird , every time Iv called the person tells me when it goes to the dm it will take hours / days 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was told that at 9am this morning … then at 430pm today I found out I had been awarded!

@Chocolateandstrawberries ob my god can’t believe you’re still waiting!! Have you been in touch with them recently?

Mine is renewal though and It runs out on 17/02 it’s getting abit tight. They said to me to call next week but you never know. If it’s done before hand
